Stezky v oblasti Pootaví / Ancient Trails in the area of the Otava river

Pitín, Michal January 2012 (has links)
TITLE: Ancient trails in the area of the Otava River AUTHOR: Michal Pitín DEPARTMENT: History and History Didactics Department SUPERVISOR: prof. PhDr. Petr Charvát, DrSc. ABSTRACT: The diploma thesis focuses on one of the modern science called stibology which concentrates on the human past and human's relation to the landscape and its settlement and mainly passing trails through the landscape. The aim of this work is to study settlement and possible passing of the communications through the landscape in the area of the Otava River since the Celtic settlement, but mainly at the Early and the High Middle Ages. The work focuses on realisation of the stibologic knowledge in the area of the town Strakonice at the period of the Early Middle Ages. It also shows that the theme of the old trails is missed out of education and its possible usage in the subject called The Heritage Education in School Education Programmes. The work also includes analysis of the cartographic materials and their information about trails passing the landscape. The work is completed by the picture supplement from the area of the Otava River and cartographic materials. KEYWORDS: trail, way, settlement, area of the Otava River

Záměr naučné stezky v anglickém parku Ostrov v Horažďovicích: hodnocení, medializace / Purpose of the educational trail in a park in Ostrov, "Horažďovice": evaluation, proposals

Lávička, Miroslav January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with educational trails (ET) of various thematic focuses, their purpose and ways of information presentation to visitors through various information panels. The aim of the thesis was to document an area for a new educational trail in a park in Ostrov in the town Horažďovice. To achieve the goal a sociological research in the town public, employees of educational institutions and municipality was made. Making analyse and evaluation of the place for the educational trail, its madialisation and making an exemplary educational panel was very important. The thesis suggests several hypothesis: whether town citizens visit educational trails, whether the trail needs an advertisement and if the increased interest has a negative influence in environment of the Ostrov park, whether people accept the educational trail in Ostrov park and if it is convenient for all population groups. Through the questionaire it was found out that 71% of public visit the trails, 76% of teachers use it as a part of educational process. The public (69%) and the teachers (75%) agree with creating an educational trail in the Ostrov park. Only 11% of public and 19% of teachers know all the ET in the Horažďovice region. The public (78%) and the teachers (89) asked for more information and medialisation of ET. While making a new proposal of the trail and information panel the results of the survey were taken in the account. Considering the regular upkeeping, facilities, and wheelchair roads, the park was found suitable for people of all ages (families with children, groups of teenagers, seniors, etc.) and disabled people.

Historická těžba zlata v Pootaví / The historic gold-mining in Pootaví

STRAKA, Jan January 2012 (has links)
To the development of my Diploma Thesis the literature dealing with the issue of the history of gold mining in Pootaví and natural conditions of the region was used. The thesis more closely specifies various historical stages of gold mining in this area and the procedures and methods used by them. The first intensive panning work and the first part of the underground works belong to the 5th century BC. Furthermore, it was found that the most intensive period of mining in this area took place in 13th - 14th century. Major panning works were completed in the course of the 16th century, underground works were finished later, with the exception of the area of Kašperské Hory, where underground mining continued until the beginning of the 20th century. In the last century geological surveys of the paddies found gold in small quantities, which excluded mining from the economical point of view. Geological exploration of the underground deposits of gold in Kašperské Hory was prematurely terminated under the pressure of the public. The practical part consists of conducted panning experiments at several locations using panning pelvis and panning sluice. At all the locations, except one, was the occurrence of gold detected, but in such a small quantities excluding profitable mining from the surface areas.

Vliv klimatické změny na hydrologické sucho v povodí horní Otavy / Climatic change effect on hydrological drought in the Otava River headwaters

Šachová, Barbora January 2013 (has links)
CLIMATIC CHANGE EFFECT ON HYDROLOGICAL DROUGHT IN THE OTAVA RIVER HEADWATERS Abstract The submitted thesis deals with hydrological drought in condition of climate change in Otava River headwaters. The topic is discussed from four different aspects that together create a complex view on the hydrological drought issues in the catchment. The first aspect, the hydrological drought analysis in daily series, is done by threshold level method and SPA. Second aspect studies the impact of climate change on the hydrological drought by using the BILAN model. Following aspect determines a prediction of low flows and deficit volumes during drought by the recession analysis. Final aspect suggests relating process of management, planning and adaptation measures on drought. Key words: hydrological drought, minimal discharges, deficit volumes, BILAN model, climatic change, recession analysis, Otava River, Modrava, Rejštejn, Sušice, adaptation measures

Středověká sakrální architektura horního Pootaví do roku 1420 / Medieval sacral architecture in the Upper Otava until 1420

Bartová, Veronika January 2011 (has links)
Medieval religious architecture in the upper Otava until 1420 The diploma thesis the medieval religious architecture in the upper Otava region until 1420, and aims to put it into a historical context. The review of the existing literature sources leveraged understanding of the architectural movements used before 1420: the Gothic and Romanesque styles. These styles posses certain significant characteristics that can be used to map their development, as well as comparison of those two. The objects can be split into categories based on those characteristics. This paper looks at those categories and studies the development within.

Tvorba odtoku a jeho dynamika v pramenné oblasti Otavy / Streamflow generation process and its dynamics in the Otava river headwaters

Kocum, Jan January 2012 (has links)
In context of catastrophic floods and extreme droughts in recent years there is an urgent need of solving of issues dealing with protection against hydrological extremes, not using just classical engineering methods but also untraditional practices. There is a new protection strategy focusing on gradual increase of river catchment retention capacity including its headwater regions. All of the issues related to various possibilities and measures leading to river headstream areas retention capacity increase should be discussed by experts in various fields taking into account objectives and priorities of a supra-regional, regional and local significance. Natural runoff process is affected by man already by its birth, thus in headwaters where numerous procedures related to runoff retardation and water retention increase in headstream areas could be realized. Suitable conditions for the research realization at present is related to the Otava River headwaters (sw. Czechia) representing the core zone of a number of extreme runoff events and with high heterogeneity in the terms of physical-geographic and socio-economic aspects. To understand and clarify the runoff generation process and the effect of various physical-geographic factors on its dynamics, the detailed analyses of runoff regime in chosen...

Řeka klidná, řeka divoká: Etnografický výzkum kolem řeky Otavy / Calm and wild river; An etnography study around the Otava river

Mottlová, Tereza January 2021 (has links)
In this diploma thesis I wanted to find out how people who live in a close relationship with the river deal with the extremes like are floods and drought. I wondered if local settlers and the city administration identified the threat of flood differently from people who did not live in contact with the river, and if their relationship with the river could be useful for others. I tried to find out if and how the locals reflect climate change through their lived experiences with floods and droughts. During my six-month research, based on ethnographic methods I spent time with gardeners who have been critically affected by drought in recent years, with settlers who regularly experience floods and with representatives of the city administration. Thanks to ethnography, I was able to understand the context of the relationships I studied. I found out that living in contact with floods is not as dramatic as it may seem to an observer. Thanks to many years od experience with floods and the river have the locals developed local knowledge, that can be very useful for whole city; If the city administration can combine expert and local knowledge, solving potential problems with high water can become much more effective and proportionate to reality. People living under the threat of floods do not need to be seen...
