This thesis shows a designing and manufacturing process of a supercharging system for an formerly naturally aspirated internal combustion engine. Theoretiacal section of this thesis offers an overview of most commonly used forced induction systems on today’s market. The design of supercharging system incorporates a roots style mechanical supercharger and is realized on Mazda B-Series engine with programmable standalone engine control unit. Engines’s parameters were then tested on a chassis dynamometer and evaluated. In the final part od the process, the fueling and ignition tables were fine-tuned, using an oxygen sensor, to achieve desired results.

This diploma thesis deals with the Common-Rail fuel system. The aim of this work is to develop an overview of development of the fuel-injection system. The first part is devoted to the description of the selected fuel system. All the parts of the system are described and explained there. Also the explanation of the management of the injection is included. Subsequently, other variants of the fuel system are described here. Further parts focuse on the diagnostic instruments and measuring emissions, also operational materials are described and divided in there. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the economic calculations which were made from the perspective of the economy operation of motor vehicles. The work also includes an evaluation of the measurements results and determines the appropriateness of the use of the Common-Rail fuel system for vehicles.

Elaborated project gives a complex design of backup hydro-mechanical unit for fuel supply of turboshaft engine TS 100. Required function of backup unit is to secure basic function of engine TS 100 over failure of primary electro-mechanical fuel system. Backup hydro-mechanical unit consists of hydrostatic fuel pump, centrifugal regulator, valve of maximum and minimum pressure, switch valve and signalization of activation hydro-mechanical unit. Parameters of hydro-mechanical unit are designed considering requested rotations speed of output shaft of engine and its allowed fluctuation. Calculation of basic parameters and dynamical calculation of behavior of the system regulator with engine is made in program DYNAST Shell. Additional calculations were made in program Microsoft Excel. Own design of hydro-mechanical unit is made in 3D design software Pro/Engineer.

Master’s thesis deals with comparsion and rating the compressed natural gas as an aircraft piston engine fuel. An information search of conventional fuels and differences of the fuel systems for AVGAS and CNG is included. Next part describes the aircraft and its engine on which is the mathematic model based. After that perfomance and consumption data are calculated for both fuels and the results are then compared. At the end of the thesis, a design of the CNG fuel system with components selection is described.

The content of this Master thesis to design installation of hydrogen pressure tanks for airplane VUT RAY 051. Survey was conducted of the available fuel cell on the market. Position of the tank was chosen over the wing using components for mounting a jet engine TJ100 M for aircraft VUT 001 MARABU. For fuel tanks were designed fairings. Further was calculated mass and centre of gravity analysis of aircraft, basic flight performance of aircraft and the drag variation in the location of the tanks above the wing. Further the strain and strength of hinges was calculated.
