Valstybės plėtros strategijos formavimas globalizacijos sąlygomis / National development strategy formation in the perspective of globalisationBaubinaitė, Kristina 27 May 2014 (has links)
Disertacijos objektas – valstybės plėtros strategijos (VPS) paradigminė kaita globalizacijos sąlygomis. Pristatytas kokybiškai naujas VPS analizės modelis, pagrįstas holistine paradigma. Šiuolaikinės VPS konstruojamos kaip kokybiškai nauja politines, ekonomines, socialines, kultūrines-tapatybines veiklas integruojanti priemonė, kuri išreiškia valstybės santykį su globalia konkurencine aplinka ir poindustrinės visuomenės raidos dinamika. Strategijų konkurencinio pranašumo svorio centras slenkasi nuo materialių išteklių link intelektinėmis žiniomis grindžiamų ir jomis remiantis kuriamų strateginių pranašumų. Dėl to pirmą kartą istorijoje mažos valstybės įgyja galimybę projektuoti savo strategijas globaliose erdvėse. Globalizacijos sąlygomis didėja VPS svarba. Tikėjimas ilgalaikės vizijos perspektyva tampa valstybės jėga, kuri padeda išrasti ateitį.Vis didesnę reikšmę įgyja dėmesys holistiniams valstybės gebėjimus atskleidžiantiems kokybiniams elementams, tokiems kaip: globalizacijos refleksija; VPS struktūrinė subordinacija, susiejanti politinę valią su prioritetų įgyvendinimu; valstybės „įsitinklinimo“ gebėjimai, jos identiteto konsolidavimas ne tik valstybės geografinėje platumoje, bet ir globaliose medijų platformose; pažangiausių ekonominio konkurencingumo modelių taikymas, darni plėtra bei geras valdymas. / The thesis focuses on the paradigmatic change of national long-term development strategies in the context of globalisation. Presented is a new qualitative national development strategy analysis model based on a holistic paradigm.Contemporarynational development strategies are constructed as a qualitatively new means, which integratepolitical, economic, social and cultural activities and expresses the states relationship with the global competitive environment and the post-industrial society’s dynamics. The gravity centre of strategic competitiveness is gradually moving from material resources towards knowledge-based strategic advantages. Therefore, for the first time in history, small statesare provided a unique opportunity to develop their own strategies on global dimension. The importance of long term development strategies is increasing.Faith in the long-term vision is becoming a national force, which under conditions of globalisation helps to invent the future. With paradigmatic change in strategic management, the focus in states‘ strategies is laid on holistic elements, such as: reflection of globalisation; structural subordination of the strategy; functionality via global networks; consolidation of national identitynot only in the geographical latitude of the state, but also in global media platforms; advanced models of economic competitiveness;sustainable development and good governance.

"Finding the Proper Sequence": Form and Narrative in the Collage Music of John ZornKolek, Adam John 01 May 2013 (has links)
This dissertation examines the linear sequence of segments in musical collages composed by John Zorn between 1988 and 1993. In addition to the use of processes and associations as unifying elements, these pieces present hierarchical organization and narrative structure. The presence of form and narrative in these works illustrates the capacity of postmodern music to be unified in novel and idiosyncratic ways.
I examine Zorn's collage pieces using an adapted methodology of paradigmatic analysis and incorporate ideas of musical topics as signifiers of delineation in the works. The segmentation of these works, begun in chapter three, reveals a hierarchical organization where individual musical blocks are organized into larger structures that I call collage phrases. This reveals the presence of hierarchical form in the musical surface, showing that organization in the pieces is not limited to background processes. The collage pieces that utilize this structure are described as exhibiting episodic collage form. Collage phrases in such pieces may also be further grouped together into larger units.
I examine narrative in the pieces through the idea of idiolects, which I conceive of as approaches and compositional philosophies that are identified through the careful examination of Zorn and his music. Chapter four examines how linear narrative in Zorn's string quartet Cat O'Nine Tails relates to an idea of visual organization that connects to his conception of cartoon music. Chapter five examines how Zorn's album Radio is organized through the idea of the "musical game," a concept in which borrowed materials and techniques are combined with Zorn's musical persona. Songs on Radio reflect this concept progressively over the course of the album.
This study reveals several things about Zorn's music and about musical postmodernism. First, it illustrates the organization of the musical surface of these works. Second, it highlights linear musical narratives in the pieces. These elements of linear organization operate alongside other non-linear structures in Zorn's music. Finally, it demonstrates the capacity of postmodern music to contain innovative approaches towards musical organization.

British electricity policy in flux : paradigm ambivalence and technological tensionEmamian, Seyed Mohamad Sadegh January 2014 (has links)
Drastic changes have taken place in UK electricity policy over recent years as government has sought to address the challenges associated with energy security, affordability and commitments to reduce carbon emissions. This study investigates the underlying policy changes between the year 2000 and 2012, particularly the Electricity Market Reform, as the most fundamental transformation in the British power market since liberalisation, almost three decades ago. It illustrates that although this policy had revised the long legacy of market-based and technology neutral electricity policymaking, it was yet to be claimed as a wholesale paradigmatic shift, because, as of 2012, it still suffered from a form of paradigm ambivalence and socio-technical lock-in. Furthermore, this research identifies an accumulative process of policy change explaining how a complex set of dynamics transformed the UK electricity policy mix. The thesis relies empirically on conducting 53 semi-structured interviews as well as scrutinising policy documents and relevant secondary studies. The thesis draws relevant approaches within policy studies that attend to address continuity and change in policy frameworks, in particular the Advocacy Coalition Framework (Sabatier 1999) and Policy Paradigm (Hall 1993) perspectives. The study contributes to this literature in three distinctive ways. First, it questions the adequacy of existing frameworks for conceptualising policy change in ‘large-technical’ and ‘techno-centric’ subsystems, such as electricity policy. In return, it introduces technology preference, as a policy component capturing the socio-technical elements of electricity policymaking. Second, to explain why and how such significant changes had been undergone, it forms a bridge between the characteristics of policy change and the extent that existing policies are perceived as irreconcilable policy failures. By this, it, albeit, moves beyond the conventional typology of change drivers in policy literature. Third, this research extends the emerging concept of negotiated agreement and policy compromise as a pathway to evolutionary changes (Sabatier & Weible 2007). Inspired by Institutional Change theory (Mahoney & Thelen 2010), it proposes that compromised policies are often at the risk of policy reversibility and retrenchment, subject to any shift in the contextual conditions they have originated in. Overall, the thesis provides an understanding of one of the very complex and contemporary cases for studying policy change theories.

Representations Of Social Classes In Arabesk FilmsAvci, Ozgur 01 August 2004 (has links) (PDF)
ABSTRACT
REPRESENTATIONS OF SOCIAL CLASSES IN ARABESK FILMS
Avci, Ö / zgü / r
M.S., Department of Political Science and Public Administration Supervisor: Assist. Prof. Dr. Necmi Erdogan
August 2004, 248 pages
This thesis is an attempt to analyze the narrative structure of arabesk films which were made in the 1970s and the 1980s. Based on the idea that it is the poor/rich dichotomy which is foregrounded as the primary paradigm in arabesk films, this study tries to show how socio-cultural hierarchies are encoded in these films and how their narrative structure motivates the audience to perceive the films from a class perspective. On the basis of a generic background regarding melodramatic texts as well as a historical background as regards how the Turkish melodramas developed in relation to the modernization process in Turkey, this thesis focuses on syntagmatic and paradigmatic structures of arabesk films and offers that these films are primarily, if not exclusively, nourished by and address to a class-based &lsquo / affect&rsquo / (hissiyâ / t).

The paper examines the morphological phenomenon of paradigm leveling as it manifests itself within the nominal inflectional paradigm of several modern Greek dialects, both from a synchronic and diachronic perspective, and explains the reasons which lead to its appearance.

Anglická synonyma ze syntagmatického hlediska ve větném kontextu / English synonyms from the syntagmatic perspective in intrasentential contextŠefčík, Dominik January 2016 (has links)
Sense relations, traditionally regarded as primarily paradigmatic, have been shown to carry syntagmatic implications. The present thesis explores intrasentential synonym co-occurrence in order to identify characteristic patterns of such co-occurrence and to explain it with reference to the functions it performs in discourse. The theoretical part provides an overview of both general treatments of synonymy and the studies that deal with co-occurring synonyms. The analysis itself is based on two hundred and thirty sentences retrieved from the British national corpus that contain pairs of co-occurring adjectival synonyms such as confident-sure, faithful-loyal or brave-courageous. The findings suggest that adjectival synonyms co-occurring in the same sentence are typically coordinated (60% of analysed sentences) in order to signal semantic inclusiveness (e.g. a covetous and grasping man). Minor patterns of synonym co-occurrence, which accounted for 2% of the analysed sentences, include the scalar pattern (e.g. smooth, nearly urbane) and the negated pattern (e.g. cruel, not savage). The remaining sentences featured synonyms which did not form distinct patterns and were, accordingly, classified as instances of variation as their co-occurrence is likely to have been influenced by a desire to avoid...

Petrographic Analysis of Prehistoric Pottery found in the Shkodër Region of Northern Albania by the Shkodra Archaeological Project (PASH)Mara, Anisa 10 August 2018 (has links)
Pottery, as an artifact, is often used as evidence of exchange patterns among groups during prehistory. This research incorporates paradigmatic classification and petrography to answer questions related to provenience, production mode, and exchange patterns of handmade prehistoric pottery from Gajtan, Zagorë, Kodër Boks, Tumuli 088 and 099 in Shkodër, in Northern Albania. Pottery samples analyzed in this study were collected from test excavations by the Shkodra Archaeological Project (PASH). The results yielded evidence that the area has sufficient local clay sources and other easily accessible natural resources to produce pottery in a domestic mode. Gajtan and Zagorë appeared as two distinct entities, but the former settlement seems to have played a dominant role as a production and distribution center within the region. Results from this study indicate that pots appear to have played an important socio-economic role in northern Albania, across time and space.

SELF-ORGANIZATION FOR STRATEGIC ADAPTATION UNDER DISEQUILIBRIUMCha, Hongryol January 2019 (has links)
This dissertation is a primarily theoretical study of self-organization, through which a constellation of organizations can control the process of strategic adaptation in the paradigm shift. Curiously, existing theories about the control mechanism seem to be insufficient to address the problems of control seriously in the pre-paradigmatic state. The dissertation includes three main chapters of literature review, theoretical analysis, and case study. The extensive literature review provides a fertile foundation to support this study. The chapter of theoretical analysis aims to theorize about self-organization as a new control mechanism. The case study chapter seeks to address the new conceptual model and its application to the phenomenon. Consequently, the dissertation not only presents a detailed comparison of existing theories but also elaborates the new model of control mechanism. This study considers the phenomenon of manufacturing without a factory as the evidence of the controlled system without governance structure in the paradigm shift. Through the content analysis method, the case study analyzes how differently IBM and Apple, Inc. have controlled manufacturing processes entirely outsourced to external partners and why IBM failed the challenges while Apple could succeed. The theoretical analysis addresses why firms must manage external adjustment processes and be agile with the high capacity of information processing as a constellation of organizations grows. This study will shed lights on uncovering the management of postmodern organizations in the twenty-first century. / Business Administration/Strategic Management

[en] (RE) MAKING COMMUNITY RADIOS: THE TENSION TO TRANSFORM FICTION IN HISTORY / [pt] (RE) FAZENDO RÁDIOS COMUNITÁRIAS: A TENSÃO EM TRANSFORMAR FICÇÃO EM HISTÓRIAERICA CRISTINA DA SILVA GOMES 18 September 2007 (has links)
[pt] Nesta pesquisa nos voltamos para as narrativas
jornalísticas de algumas
rádios comunitárias do Rio de Janeiro. Identificamos de
que forma tais emissoras
lidam com este gênero, levando em consideração o modo como
são produzidas as
mensagens. No âmbito comunitário, demos visibilidade para
histórias locais e
reunimos características que consideramos como
possibilidades de reconfiguração
do radiojornalismo tradicional, tais como: presença da
subjetividade, existência de
textos sonoros híbridos e maior liberdade em explorar a
linguagem do veículo.
[en] In this search, we focused on the journalistic narratives
of some
community radios in Rio de Janeiro. We identified how
these broadcasting
stations deal with this type of media, paying attention to
the way the messages are
produced. In the community sphere, we gave visibility to
local stories, and united
characteristics that we consider as possibilities of
reconfiguring the traditional
radiojournalism, such as: the presence of subjectivity,
the existence of hybrid
sound texts and the greater freedom to explore the radio`s
language. We tell the
trajectory of radio in Brazil to insert and legitimate the
community broadcasting
stations involved in this process. And this process
reveals the difficulties that
these stations face in relation to some topics: acquiring
the license, the problem of
repression, the interruption of the activities and the
nomenclature given to the
segment. On the other hand, we showed the organization of
people that fight for
these radios, as well as the interest of the traditional
media in the production of the
community radios. This approach is real only because we
are facing a context that
is going through paradigmatic changes. The dissolution of
the modern discourse
as homogeneous gave space to the arising of plural
narratives. Among these
voices, until then quite, are the journalistic narratives
of the community radios.
