Darbo objektas – lietuvių kalbos frazeologizmai su leksemomis ranka ir koja. Svarbiausias darbo tikslas – aptarti frazeologizmų su leksemomis ranka ir koja semantinę motyvaciją remiantis kognityvinės kalbotyros principais.Darbą sudaro pratarmė, įvadas, svarbiausia darbo dalis, išvados, literatūros sąrašas, priedas. Įvadinėje darbo dalyje trumpai aptariama frazeologizmo samprata bei variantai, sinonimai ir antonimai, apžvelgiami lietuvių frazeologizmų tyrimai, apibūdinama koncepto ir konceptualiosios metaforos samprata. Pagrindinę darbo dalį sudaro du skyriai, kur aptariami leksemų ranka ir koja motyvuojami frazeologizmai, jų sąsajos su skirtingomis žmonių veiklos sferomis. Tyrimo rezultatai apibendrinami išvadose. Darbe pateikiami 2 paveikslai. Šaltinių sąrašą sudaro 7, literatūros sąrašą – 28 pozicijos. Pateikiamas trumpas konceptualiųjų metaforų su leksemomis ranka ir koja žodynėlis. / Object of the paper is phraseological units of the Lithuanian language with lexemes “arm” and “leg”. The main objective of the paper is to discuss the semantic motivation of phraseological units with lexemes “arm” and “leg” following the principles of cognitive linguistics. The paper comprises a preface, introduction, the main chapter, conclusions, list of references, and annex. In the introductory chapter, the conception of a phraseological unit is discussed along with variables, synonyms and antonyms, research on the Lithuanian phraseological units is overviewed, and the conception of a concept and conceptual metaphor is described. The main chapter consists of two sections, in which phraseological units motivated with lexemes “arm” and “leg” are discussed along with their links to people’s separate activity fields. The research results are summarised in conclusions. 2 pictures are provided in the paper. The list of sources comprises 7 and the list of references 28 positions. A brief vocabulary of conceptual metaphors with lexemes “arm” and “leg” is provided.

The aim of this thesis is to approach and to outline the development of proverbs, idioms, and sayings in our territory, since their appearance in the translation of the Bible up to the present day, when they have been updated and modified. In the theoretical part we try to define the terminology on the basis of literature we have perused. The thesis also mentions the most important collectors of Czech proverbs (M. Červenka, J. Blahoslav, J. Dobrovský, F. L. Čelakovský, V. Flajšhans) and their paremiological works. The practical part presents the practical use of paremies. We have been working here with collected language material of journalistic and artistic functional texts. The thesis is supplemented by the results of the questionnaire investigation focused on the knowledge/ignorance, the understanding, and the use of these phrases in the present. In the end of this thesis there are additional attachments to some chapters (including synoptic tables with results of the survey, a demonstration of homework with phraseologisms, and the graphic representation of phraseologisms).

This thesis focuses on the image of "hlava" (head) in the Czech linguistic picture of the world. It is based on theories and methods of cognitive linguistics. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the structure of the meaning of the word hlava. The paper by I. Vaňková and V. Vitkovskaya was used as a methodological and theoretical starting point. In that paper four semantic profiles of "hlava" are defined. The results of Vaňková and Vitkovskaya were compared with the findings of our research. We try to find out, whether the mentioned profiles are valid on a larger linguistic material, too. Two types of data are analysed - systemic data (especially phraseology, then also etymology of the word, derivatives, compounds and synonyms) and corpus materials (from Czech National Corpus). Then, we also compare the differences in the findings between systemic and textual (corpus) data. Finally, all results are summarized in the cognitive definition of hlava.

In the dissertation the author presents the analysis of the use of phraseological units in modern political discourse in Russia and the Czech Republic. The author shows that phraseology can be a tool for increasing the expressiveness of a speech, for contacting and influencing the audience in the political discourse. The analysis of cognitive and pragmatic specifics of idioms and metalanguage commentaries in the speech of politicians in a comparative aspect is carried out. As a result the author showes the specifics of the use of phraseological units in describing the speech image of a politician.
