Plant functional traits (plant height, aboveground biomass, R/S ratio, specific leaf area, leaf dry matter content, specific root length and arbuscular mycorrhizal infection) were measured for several grassland plant species growing under different soil fertility conditions in a greenhouse and a field experiments. Traits` response to nutrient addition and the differences in traits among species and between forbs and grasses were studied. Results from the greenhouse and the field experiment were compared.

The project deals with structure design of a new – built sports centre with the capacity up to 120 persons. It is situated in the sports grounds of Zákamenné in a flat terrain lot with area of 21 811 m2. The building wasn´t designed for disabled people, it is designed with partial basement, it has got two floors with irregular shape and the floor area of 752,44 m2. On the first floor the building is split into two sections - northern, which is the sports part and southern. which is the facilities part (café, entrance to flat,...). On the second floor there is a caretaker´s flat in the southern part, northern part serves mainly for administration purposes. The northern part also offers access to a non-public terrace. Basement is situated under southern part and serves technical facilities of the buildiung. The support structure system consists of concrete strips foundations, supporting wall system built with Ytong aerated concrete blocks, the ceiling system is made of reinforced concrete floor, which also supports construction of a warm flat roof.

The work is aimed at familiarizing the audience with the problems of water in the Czech Republic and its distribution within the landscape. However, its character, which approaches to documentary work, doesn´t explicitly describe the problem, but rather attempts to visualize it and give the viewer space for his own imagination. The work draws in contrast the examples of fine functional interventions in the landscape with examples of monstrous concrete structures - dams. It points to problematic places and tries to convey to the viewer the current issue not only in the chosen location. The main thing is the lyrical performance, which evokes not only a video but also the sound part and the narrative that explains the whole problem. The video is not purely informative, its specificity is also focused on the enjoyment of the viewer. He plays with documentary techniques but does not use them as a priority. The shots are deliberately chosen so that the concrete buildings look monumental and have their seriousness. The background of the shots also shows the time of their creation. This element is supposed to be critical and is supposed to be opposed to studies that use old plans to build new water reservoirs that do not give space for a more efficient solution. The work also touches on the overproduction and issues of today's modern agriculture.

Brno will continue to be the city and the centre of the fairs. The historical part around the pavilion A is opened to public and the fairs are concentrated around the pavilion Z, where a new city entrance is planned within a linear park, also a new pavilion and a superstructure with residence of BVV is planned. Newly, the terminal Lipová is designed with the cableway station, which is not only an attraction over the valley of Pisárky, but also represents a form of transport to the campus Bohunice and back to the trade fair center. The design of an exhibition pavilion is situated in a part of Brno-Pisárky, in western area of BVV. The Pavilion contains an exhibition hall and an entrance edifice on a new axis directed from an Anthropos over an superstructure on a significant pavilion Z. The entrance edifice in a central of pavilion is surrounded by exhibition area and its centre is plaza with natural woody plants and colonnade. Entries are leaded on galleries on this level. Galleries are opened into the exhibition hall. A restaurant has a specific view on the dominant-pavilion Z. A visitor goes through the plaza and descends on monumental stairs to the pavilion Z into area of BVV in a primary direction. The visitor descents from the plaza over each galleries to the exhibiton area in a secondary direction. The proposal offers to the visitors and exhibitors not only gathering outdoor relaxation area on the plaza, but moreover interesting experiences from galleries. The total built area of the pavilion is almost equal to the exhibition area, because the design creates the entry level on the third floor. The new building meets the requirements of modern exhibitions and will be used for social and educational events - balls, weddings, conferences, cultural events - concerts, theater, opera performances and sports events. The Pavilion will be visited by inhabitents of all ages not only from Brno, from near and distant surroundings, but also by visitors from abroad.

This diploma thesis deals with efficiency of heat sources and indirect heating of hot water. First part of this thesis is about heating of hot water, particulary indirect heating of hot water and it is all summarized in theoretical knowledge section. Second part deals with central heating and indirect heating of hot water in four floor flat house. The heat source for this object is cascade of two gas condensing boilers. In this building there are mostly used panel radiators. In the last, third part, I experimentaly deal with operational efficiency of heating sources with heating of hot water.

Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. He is also separate off from the noisy Sportovní street, but it has a sufficient supply of sunlight. Diploma thesis is about design and making of execution project for office city building which is located in Nový Bydžov. The building is located in the late brownfield area of Dufek´s wood manufacture, which is on the south part of Nový Bydžov. The building has four above ground floors and one below ground floor. The building shape is rectangular of dimensions 53,02 x 17,62 m. On the south, west and east is the façade from height of second floor slightly cantilevered. On the east part the edge of cantilevered façade duplicate slopping edge of the bottom land and it creates wonderful but economical shape. The height of the building from the ground is 14,5 m. The shape of roof is flat, covered with the mPVC foil and gravel mound. Façade which covering the first ground floor is made of polystyrene with thin layer of plaster which creates building plinth. Top cantilevered façade is made of ceramic tiles of dimensions 1200 x 600 mm which are suspended behind the air layer. The ceramic tiles are light brown color. In the bottom part are glazed areas of rectangular and square shapes to create the open feeling in the ground floor. In the rear part is designed coffee bar with nice outside wooden terrace. Windows in the top cantilevered part of the façade are the circular shape and extend the architectural impression of the building. All windows are in the same color of dark blue. The steel parts of the building are also dark blue color. In the bellow ground floor are designed underground parking lot with the maximum capacity 29 cars and technical equipment. In the first floor above ground are designed reception, big lecture hall, exhibition hall, coffee bar with terrace and toilets. In the second floor above the ground are offices, computer room and HVAC equipment. In the third above floor are offices, conference hall, and IT equipment. In the fourth floor above the ground are also offices, maintenance room and storage of furniture.

This doctoral thesis deals with the valuation of damage to buildings affected by floods. In its individual parts, it researches floods as a risk, focuses on the damage caused by this natural phenomenon and examines the methods used to assess the damages caused by floods. With the beginnings of human settlement, the vicinity of rivers has been inhabited for the many befits that watercourses bring. However, there are many dangers associated with this, especially the ones associated with the spillage of riverbeds – with floods. This phenomenon causes considerable damage to property, the environment or human health and lives. There are many measures to eliminate the risk of flooding, or at least mitigate its effects. This work further researches the mitigating of impacts – it examines the methods of determining the amount of damage to buildings caused by floods, looks for factors and parameters influencing the amount of damage and focuses on streamlining these methods. The aim of the thesis is to find a suitable methodology/model that can automate the calculation of the amount of damage, or in other words, to find a quick and at the same time sufficiently accurate solution to this problem. The main output of the thesis is the equation of the damage curve and a model for the amount of damage calculation based on the principle of damage curves using the hybrid genetic algorithm. Another output is a practical tool that works on the basis of the said algorithm and automatically calculates the amount of damage to the building when entering very basic information about the damaged object.

This thesis is aimed to Design of Experiments methodology. Main purpose of this thesis is to create detailed materials for lessons of Design of Experiments in Quality Control courses. Thesis contains case studies which are applicable for education purposes. Design of Experiments has been applied for solder joints quality evaluation. Solder joints have been modeled in software ANSYS and finite element method has been applied for thermomechanical stress evaluation.

The master’s thesis deals with energy assessment of buildings according to a current valid legislature. In the first part the energy assessments problems are solved. The next part solves the energy concept of the educational building, Pavilion P4, AdMaS centre of Faculty of Civil Engineering of BUT, in the form of project documentation. In the part of thesis there is a simulation characterizing dynamic behavior of building. The thesis point is the evaluation of energy balance and a draft of measures leading to the power consumption decrease.
