A Menu-based Universal Control Protocol / Ett menybaserat universiellt kontroll-protokollGustafsson, Per-Ola, Ohlsson, Marcus January 2002 (has links)
This thesis-project aims to research the possibilities of new wireless technologies in general control-situations. We have studied different existing control protocols, and developed a new protocol focusing on textbased menus. Our protocol is scaleable, easy to implement, and platform- and media independent. Since our protocol supports Plug and Play with dynamically allocated id’s, it does not require a unique id in the hardware. To test the protocol we have developed a prototype system, consisting of a mobile phone connected to a server, which in turn is connected to two slave units, controlling peripheral equipment on 220 Volt. The phone is an Ericsson T28, equipped with a Bluetooth unit. The server is runningthe real-time OS eCos on an ARM 7TDMI Evaluation Kit, and the slave units consist of two developer boards equipped with PIC-processors. Communication between the phone and the server is done over Bluetooth. However we did not find a working Bluetooth protocol stack ported to eCos, so a serial cable was used instead. Communication between the server and the slaves is done over a RS-485 serial network which simulates the traffic over a radio-network. The results show that our protocol is working, and that our system would be easy to implement, cheap to produce and very scalable.

Mesure de propriétés monophasiques de milieux poreux peu perméables par voie instationnaire / Transient methods to determine one-phase flow properties of poorly permeable porous mediaProfice, Sandra 07 March 2014 (has links)
Among the multitude of petrophysical data used to describe a geological formation, some of them allow specifically to predict the production capacity, namely: the porosity, the intrinsic permeability and the Klinkenberg coefficient. In the particular case ofgas shales, these three essential properties are extremely difficult to measure precisely, because of the complexicity of these rocks. This thesis is the continuity ofworks led in I2M laboratory-TREFLE department, on the analysis and the improvementof the Pulse Decay method, which is the classical transient method of measurementused in the oil&gas industry to identify one or several of the properties ofinterest. The numerous weaknesses of the Pulse Decay method are here presented,as the strengths of the new method derived from the improvement of the Pulse Decaymethod, namely the Step Decay method, developed in I2M laboratory and patentedin partnership with TOTAL. More exactly, the performances of the Step Decaymethod are here studied numerically as well as experimentally, in homogeneouscondition, as in heterogeneous condition. This manuscript provides also the results ofan analysis dealing with the Pulse Decay method on cuttings, which forms a possiblealternative to the Pulse Decay method on plug but which reliability is highly questioned.

Integrace e-mailové komunikace do IDE Eclipse / REmail - Integrating e-mail Communication in the Eclipse IDEHumpa, Vítězslav January 2011 (has links)
Developers of software systems have to communicate about the project they are building. Especially when working in a distributed development team, such as open source projects, developers must use an asynchronous means of communication. Studies tell us that e-mails are, by far, the means of communication mostly used during the distributed development, opposed to instant messaging, commit comments, or code comments. Therefore, we can imagine archives containing development e-mails enclose essential information concerning various entities of the source code. Unfortunately, such information gets lost with time, since relevant e-mails are hard to retrieve. We have developed REmail, an Eclipse plug-in, to integrate e-mail communication in the IDE. It allows developers to seamlessly handle source code entities and e-mails concerning the source code, without ever exiting from the IDE. Using lightweight linking techniques, REmail retrieves all the e-mails relevant to the chosen source code entities and makes them available to the developer.

Biodiesel : combustion des esthers éthyliques d'huiles végétales comme additifs au pétrodiesel / Biodiesel : combustion of fatty acid ethyl esters as additives to petrodieselBennadji, Hayat 07 October 2010 (has links)
An increasingly popular biofuel is biodiesel, composed of a mixture of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid methyl or ethyl esters, with a long aliphatic main chain. This PhD dissertation provides a literature review concerning the origin of biodiesel, its manufacturing process, performance and emissions of diesel engines fueled with biodiesel, and the kinetics of oxidation of biodiesel. Efforts were made to highlight the main differences between methyl and ethyl esters while showing where further research needs to be developed or pursued. For these reasons, the autoignition of five esters were measured behind reflected shock tube: ethyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, ethyl crotonate, methyl crotonate, and ethyl butanoate. Detailed mechanisms for the oxidation of the five studied esters were automatically generated using the version of EXGAS software. In addition, the oxidation of ethyl butanoate as a model compound for Fatty Acid Ethyl Esters (FAEE) has been investigated in tubular plug flow reactor at atmospheric pressure over wide range of temperature (500-1200 K). The results consist of concentration profiles of the reactants, stable intermediates, and final products. The model was again validated satisfactorily by comparison between computed results and the generated experimental data

Continuous Endothelial Cell Activation Increases Angiogenesis: Evidence for the Direct Role of Endothelium Linking Angiogenesis and InflammationRajashekhar, Gangaraju, Willuweit, Antje, Patterson, Carolyn E., Sun, Peichuan, Hilbig, Andreas, Breier, Georg, Helisch, Armin, Clauss, Matthias January 2006 (has links)
There is increasing evidence that chronic inflammation is tightly linked to diseases associated with endothelial dysfunction, including the induction of aberrant angiogenesis. While leukocytes have been described as mediators of inflammation-associated angiogenesis, the effects of direct chronic endothelial activation have not been addressed in this context. Using an uncleavable mutant of the transmembrane form of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), we have established models of stable TNF-α expression in endothelial cells in vitro and in transgenic mice in vivo. In the in vitro model, continuous endothelial activation leads to increased leukocyte cellular adhesion molecule expression and intracellular reactive oxygen species, hallmarks of a proinflammatory and dysfunctional endothelium. In addition, stable expression of TNF-α in endothelial cells increased angiogenic sprout formation in the presence but also in the absence of angiogenic growth factors. The partial neutralization of this effect by TNF-α antibodies and the inability of conditioned media from stable TNF-α-expressing endothelial cells to induce angiogenic activities in control endothelial cells suggest that this effect does not require expression of additional autocrine factors, but is an autonomous effect of the transmembrane TNF on the endothelial cells. Furthermore, using the Matrigel plug assay in vivo, increased angiogenesis was observed in endothelial TNF-α-expressing transgenic versus control mice. In conclusion, chronic inflammatory changes mediated by TNF-α can induce angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo, suggesting endothelial cell activation as a direct link between inflammation and angiogenesis.
