Vybrané aspekty energetické politiky EU / Selected Aspects of the European Union's Energy PolicyHylmarová, Šárka January 2010 (has links)
The thesis is concerned with the stability of the energy market with oil and gas in the European Union. It first characterizes the development of energy policy. The next part specifies two essential types of primary energy -- petroleum and natural gas. This chapter deals with the measurement, mining and also describes the proved world reserves that influence the delivery of these energies into the European Union. The following chapter deals with the stability of the internal market for oil and natural gas. It describes the stability of demand for this kind of energy, the stability of supply and the stability of prices. The final section outlines some of the ways, in which the European Union seeks to enhance the stability. One of the ways is maintaining and deepening relationships with external suppliers and other major energy consumers. Another way to encourage energy stability is to increase the efficiency of energy use, which leads among others to a reduction of the European dependence on supplies and it also lower resource depletion.

Vyhodnocení rizika zbytkového diagramu: Trhy se zemním plynem / Evaluation of Residual Shape Risk: Gas Energy MarketsKouřílek, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
The thesis evaluates and quantifies the residual shape risk on the Czech nat- ural gas market. The risk stems from insufficient liquidity of forward mar- ket, when energy supplier has to hedge his short shaped sales by standard baseload products available at wholesale market. Hence, energy supplier is always left with residual position, which has to be closed at spot market. We model the residual shape risk as a difference between spot and forward prices weighted by residual position, which is derived from the shape of innogy En- ergie, s.r.o. household portfolio. In order to do so we develop model for a spot price dynamics based on the daily index OTE. We price forward contracts as expected spot price at delivery. The spot price dynamics is modelled as a mean-reverting Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process, while assuming two different driving stochastic processes for innovations. First, we model them as a mixed jump diffusion process. Second, we estimate control model assuming innova- tions to come from the normal inverse Gaussian distribution. The residual shape risk is then evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation of spot price paths, which we use for hedging the portfolio shape. Five percent Value-at-Risk and the Expected Shortfall measures for the jump mixed diffusion process yield costs of 0.013 and 0.016 EUR/MWh,...

Liberalizácia plynárenstva v EÚ / The liberalization of the gas industry in the European UnionGiľaková, Daniela January 2011 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the process of liberalization of the natural gas market in Europe. The aim of this thesis is to present energy policy and its development in relation to the liberalization of the gas industry in the EU. Moreover another aim of this thesis is to bring a critical look at the process of liberalization of natural gas market in practice and assess the current stage of the liberalization process in EU. The gas industry represents one of the parts of energy industry and from this reason the indroduction of this thesis is devoted to the development of energy and energy policy from the 2nd world war to the present. The next chapter of this thesis is focuses on the importance and the position of natural gas among the other energy sources. The next chapter describes the process of the liberalization in the European Union, which is related to the adoption and implementation of the European energy directives and regulations, also known as the energy packages, in to the national legislation. In the last chapter are analyzed some of the factors of the liberalization of the gas market in the Czech Republic

Vzájemný pohyb zemního plynu s ostatními komoditními trhy - waveletová analýza / Natural Gas Comovement with Other Commodity Markets - A Wavelet AnalysisOtradovec, Michal January 2016 (has links)
This thesis studies the impact of shale gas on commodity and stock markets in the U.S. by employing wavelet approach and conducting a time-frequency analysis of dynamic correlations between natural gas and important representatives of commodity markets: crude oil, coal, corn, wheat, and several indices. It covers the period from 2006 to 2015 and is performed on daily data. Our thesis enlarges existing literature on comovement between natural gas with other energy commodities and stocks using wavelet coherence - a methodology which allows analyzing comovement among assets not only from a time series perspective but also over different frequencies. Financialization of natural gas and its involvement in investment portfolios under changing conditions on the U.S. gas market provide space for examination of gas proper correlation estimates in respect to other financial assets. Our results reveal natural gas comovement behaviour with examined commodities during the Financial Crisis. They show gradual decoupling between gas and crude oil prices in time. To the best of our knowledge we are the first to address natural gas using wavelet coherence in connection to agricultural commodities corn and wheat. These commodities together with natural gas are primary sources for bioethanol production being used in...

Souhrnná analýza integrace evropských energetických trhů a aspektů, které ovlivňují integrační proces mezi lety 2000 až 2019 / A comprehensive analysis of integration of EU energy markets and aspects affecting the process of integration between 2000 and 2019Mocák, Filip January 2021 (has links)
This Master's thesis analysed integration process of national energy markets through non- legislative and legislative EU documents. The aim was to study integration of national energy markets and aspects that had influence on the integration process through interpretative content analysis. Additionally, the definition of internal energy market was augmented. The internal energy market requires not only competitiveness, market-based approach, customer orientation and flexibility, but it is also necessary to ensure security of supplies, diversification of suppliers, sustainability, and transparency. Four aspects were analysed. It was partially proven, that several initiatives and proposals made by the European Commission were implemented by the member states in binding EU legislation (energy packages) in the period from 2000 to 2019. The initiatives presented by the European Commission were far more ambitious. However, as it was pointed out several times in Commission's publications that progress was rather slow in transposition of EU legislation into national laws by the member states which significantly prolonged integration process. Main problems were deregulation of gas prices for end users, ownership unbundling and independence of national regulatory authorities. Next, geopolitics within the EU...
