This thesis focuses on migration issues in an economic downturn. The first part deals with basic concepts and theories of migration. Attention is focused primarily on economic migration, which is closely linked to labor migration. The following general assumptions about the determinants and factors affecting migration in an economic downturn. Relationship between recessions and migration illustrated chapter on the history of financial crises. Another section is devoted to the economic situation of Great Britain and generally captures the nature of migration in the UK. Subsequent chapters deal with current and historical development of immigration policy in the UK. Attention is paid to work programs, the modifications led to the introduction of a new points system. Briefly outlined the basic steps taken in connection with the economic downturn. This work is also about the possible effects of immigration policy on migratory flows, in connection with the adopted amendments.

The aim of the Master thesis is to design and verify the function of the system for the ventilation of parked car in the summer season with the intention to cut down the temperature peak in the cabin of the vehicle. The design of the system consists of the suitable placement of the fans and corresponding inlets and outlets for the flowing of the ventilating air. The fans are powered by a photovoltaic panel. The functionality of the system is verified by the measuring of the temperature drop in the cabin of the car. The ambient conditions for the setting of the intensity of solar radiation and of the ambient temperature have been chosen from the real measurements from TUBO station which is meteorological station of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of BUT Brno.

The diploma thesis "Analysis of technical parameters of compression ignition engines" deals with the current concept of diesel engine construction. The introduction introduces the development of a diesel engine to the present. Furthermore, it discusses the current state of the engine design and its problems, there are presented the technical parameters of the selected set of diesel engines. The technical parameters are tabular, there is a graphical and computational analysis. The final stage of the work is to discuss and conclude on the topic of diesel combustion engines.

This paper analyses options/warrants price behavior around an ex-dividend day of underlying shares. Both equity options as financial instruments traded on options exchanges, and warrants/certificates as OTC financial instruments are analyzed. First, the paper analyzes the ex-dividend day share price drop. Findings of this part are further used to analyze the impact of unexpected share price decline on options prices. Further, the paper focuses on volumes of traded options contracts and changes in options prices around the ex-dividend day. The paper focuses on European shares and related options and warrants. The options data was collected from the options exchange EUREX and also from several OTC sources -- Vontobel, Lang & Schwarz, Erste, and xMarkets by Deutsche Börse. The main aim of the paper is to identify market inefficiencies in trading in and valuation of equity options. There are two main conclusions that around the ex-dividend day there is a significantly increased trading activity and the call options depreciate whereas put options appreciate between the cum-dividend and the ex-dividend day. This shows insufficient implementation of the share price drops into options valuation models of options dealers or investors / speculators. Further an impact of unexpected share price behavior was analyzed but no particular pattern has been identified. The impact of the unexpected share price drop (either too high or too low) has ambiguous implications on the options prices. Finally, ways how to utilize on knowledge of inefficient trading in options around the ex-dividend day were suggested. The suggestions were done both from the perspective of an investor / speculator and of an options dealer.

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of rapid day-to-day drops of air temperature. The research part of the thesis is focused on physical-geographical factors that affect the air temperature. Furthermore, the most common methods used to detect interdiurnal changes in air temperature are presented. Abrupt drops in air temperature were detected on the basis of the maximum and minimum daily air temperature at a total of 33 meteorological stations for the period from 1st January 1970 to 31st December 2019. The aim was to describe the regularities of the distribution of extreme drops in air temperature in both temperature characteristics, and to describe the influence of different physical-geographical conditions on the magnitude and seasonality of decline events. The thesis also describes the influence of the prevailing weather situation (according to HMÚ typing) on extreme decreases in both temperature characteristics. It was proved that the shape of the relief has a significant effect on the seasonality of decreases, especially the minimum air temperatures. Stations on convex relief are characterized by a more balanced distribution of these events during the year, while at stations on concave relief there are the largest decreases in the minimum air temperature, especially in winter. Mesophyll conductance is (together with stomatal conductance) a crucial component of diffusion limitations of photosynthesis and it is important to understand the mechanisms of CO2 fluxes through the leaves. Here I tested a new technique for estimation of drawdown in CO2 concentration across hypostomatous leaves based on carbon isotope composition (13C) of leaf cuticle and cuticular waxes isolated from opposite leaf sides.

The impact was assessed of clinical and nutritional factors on prognosis of 107 oesophageal cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CHRT) and surgery. Individualised nutritional support, according to grade of dysphagia was carried out in all the patients. Serum leptin, soluble leptin receptors (SLR), TNF, IGF and fatty acid (FA) profiles in plasma phosphatidylcholine (PC) were studied as well. Addition of paclitaxel to carboplatin and continual fluorouracil significantly increased toxicity without influencing efficacy of the treatment. Post-operative node negativity, grade of dysphagia, weight loss and serum albumin were proved to be prognostic factors of survival and time to progression. CHRT led to decrease of SLR, palmitoleic and oleic acid and increase of n-3 polyunsaturated FA in PC. Lower concentrations of SLR were associated with improved survival of the patients. The diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases leading to dementia is increasingly moving to the earlier stages in an effort to find the disease-modifying treatment for these diseases. Prodromal and preclinical stages of the diseases have become the primary research interests. Neuropsychology is specifically focused on early cognitive markers and development of methods that would be able to reliably assess these markers and to evaluate the risk of progression of cognitive decline in individual cases. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the current knowledge in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, it is specifically focused on Alzheimer's disease (AD) as the most common cause of dementia. We also present the current trends in neuropsychological diagnostics of early AD and the approach to subjective and objective evaluation of cognitive functioning. Building on that, we present the rationale for the empirical part of the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis extends the existing knowledge in the field of AD.
