Ekonomické důsledky rozdělení Československa v roce 1993. / Economic consequences of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993

Ječmeň, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The aim is to analyze the economic and political aspects of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993 in the context of monetary separation and further analyze its impact on monetary indicators in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The thesis provides a comprehensive view of the development of relations within Czechoslovakia after 1989 and monetary separation in 1993. First, attention is focused on description and analysis of economic and political relations between the two nations, which are demonstrated in the illustrative examples of the development of Czechoslovakia between 1989 and 1993. Then analyzes the preparation, conduct and impact of monetary separation on the inflation rate, balance of payments, interest rates and foreign exchange reserves, and consequently macroeconomic indicators are compared both newly formed states. The thesis is written for use with the description, analysis and comparison. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that the collapse of the state was no longer possible in 1993 to avoid. It can be concluded that the monetary separation had no immediate impact on the study of monetary indicators. Based on comparison of selected macroeconomic indicators of the countries we were able to demonstrate that in the first years after the collapse of the federation with the Czech economy developed better and more stable than Slovak Republic. Implementation and results of the disintegration of Czechoslovakia and the associated monetary separation can be considered as a basis for solving current problems eg. In any disintegration of the common currency in the European Union or the possible dissolution of several national states. A proper currency separation in 1993 had a negative impact on the development of monetary variables surveyed states.

Parlamentní strany v České republice: funkce, nástroje, stabilita / Parliamentary parties in the Czech Republic: functions, tools, stability

Kuta, Martin January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with activities of Czech parliamentary parties during EU-affairs discussion in the Chamber of Deputies, Parliament of the Czech Republic. The main focus is on three characteristic features of political parties during their activities on the parliamentary level: stability (rhetorical, voting, and programmatic), use of parliamentary oversight tools, and fulfilling their systemic function. The parties are seen through the prism of behavioural approach. EU-affairs are a rather new topic with a variable salience for national parties. EU-affairs influence party competition in extra-parliamentary arena. Conflict, however non-salient topics in parliamentary arena are ousted by governmental parties in order for them to keep governmental stability. The parties do not act according to their party manifestoes (low level of Europeanization); instead, their voting behaviour indicates that the parties follow logic of parliamentary competition between government and opposition. Parliamentarization of EU governance (engagement of national parliaments in broader institutional setting of the EU) leads to spreading of party competition on the national level to a new policy area. Political parties use tools of parliamentary scrutiny in a rather limited extent and according to their actual position within the system. The thesis also deals with party nomination and composition of the Committee on European affairs which holds oversight powers. The empirical analysis is based on the analysis of voting behaviour of parliamentary party groups (roll-call data), stenographic records, Committee and plenary session resolutions and quantitative analysis of composition of the Committee.

Aplikácia zákonov genderovej parity politickými stranami vo Francúzsku / Application of laws of gender equality by French political parties

Šubertová, Aneta January 2017 (has links)
In 1999, France, after a long and dragging debate, revised its Constitution in order to enable the installation of gender quotas in elected political bodies. In 2000 'parity laws' were enacted. They defined the parameters of these quotas that applied strictly to elections of proportional electoral system, such as elections into municipal councils with over 3.500 inhabitants, regional and European elections, and Senate elections in areas with three and more senators. In elections with plurality voting system, such as legislative elections and Senate elections with one or two senators, the parity was supposed to be achieved by imposing of financial penalty for those political parties that would not comply with the parity laws. This diploma thesis describes a public discussion that had taken place in France before the adoption of the gender parity imposed by the law. It compares four major political parties- the Republicans, Socialist party, The Greens and the National Front. The research analyzes their compliance with parity laws and their implementation on their candidate lists in parliamentary as well as Senate elections. The aim of this diploma thesis is to show and compare the rhetoric and the actions of the studied political parties with regards to the parity. The research analyzes the lists of...

Foucalt a násilí: Genealogie národní sounáležitosti a zastupitelské moci v Turecku / Foucault and Violence: A Genealogy of National Belonging and Representative Power in Turkey

Maze, Jacob Alan January 2021 (has links)
The central aim of this dissertation is to introduce tools for studying a form of political violence in Michel Foucault's genealogical methodology. This is accomplished by reformulating theories from Hannah Arendt on violence to sync with Foucault's understanding of power, knowledge and experience. Violence is shown to be a relationship where one subject is prevented from fulfilling a strategy by another, which over time accumulates into widespread power relations, or nexuses of violence, within a society. This is contrasted with power, which is when one subject attempts to control the outcome of a situation, and as such it is productive. This method of genealogy is then employed in the case of national identity (i.e., nationalism) in Turkey. Tracing its historical emergence, the late Ottoman Empire becomes the focal point. A network of allegiances, referred to as sultanic power, constituted the relationships that were exercised prior to the nineteenth century. While one pledged their loyalty and subservience to their ruler, this required their ruler to offer them security and prosperity in return. Over the Long Nineteenth Century, a new network of power relations emerged based on representation through the practices and discourses that developed. I come to outline what I term representative power....
