Štěpení a disociace u schizofrenie / Splitting and Dissociation in SchizophreniaPěč, Ondřej January 2014 (has links)
The term splitting is defined as a process of formation of mental aggregates linked incompatible experiences producing numerous divisions in mental apparatus. Current findings indicate that psychological splitting in schizophrenia is likely specifically presented on a neural level as disrupted organization in neural communication. This disrupted neural communication likely underlies deficits in mental processing described by various neuroscientific concepts such as theories of disturbed connectivity, corollary discharges and dynamic complexity. In this context, a purpose of the theoretical part of the dissertation is to describe basic neuroscience theories that complementarily reflect interrelated processes between mind and brain underlying disturbances of mental integration that likely present a neural representation of the splitting. A purpose of the first part of the empirical research was to examine relationships between psychological process of splitting and disturbed cognitive and affective functions in schizophrenia. A sample of patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) was used as a control group in this study. Methods: In the clinical study, we have assessed 30 patients with schizophrenia and 35 patients with BPD. The symptoms of splitting were measured using self- reported...

Profil mírné kognitivní poruchy u pacientů po ischemické cévní mozkové příhodě. / Mild cognitive impairment after strokeJaremová, Vladěna January 2016 (has links)
The goal of this thesis was to describe cognitive profile of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in patients witch ischemic stroke (IST). The theoretical introduction focuses on IST, the concept of MCI, and neuropsychological test of cognitive deficits related to IST. The empirical part of the thesis describes the research results. 64 patients with various types of brain lesions after first-ever stroke were examined within 3-6 months after hospital admission. The cognitive performance was assessed across five cognitive domains: memory, attention, executive functions, visuospacial abilities, and language. All cognitive domains were impaired to the similar extend; the impairment quite severe, and ranged from 1.5 to 2.0 SD below the mean of the control group. The results showed that right hemisphere lesions were associated with visuospacial impairment whereas left hemisphere lesions were associated with language impairment. Also, it was examined which combination of tests differentiates best between patients from the experimental groups and the control group, and among individual experimental groups. It is necessary to develop and use sensitive and valid tests that can detect mild cognitive deficits in patients after ischemic stroke, which could be useful for rehabilitation planning. Keywords: mild...

Vnímání trestné činnosti pacienty nařízené ochranné léčby / Perception of criminal activities by patients of Ordered protective treatmentNichtová, Andrea January 2015 (has links)
Mental disorder and criminal activity is always a current topic because of high promotion of offences in the media which enhances its stigmatization. The aim of the work was mapping of patient's view of his criminal activities. We described criminal proceedings with mentally ill offender and measures of protection. We addressed to chosen aspects of perceiving of criminal activities - motivation, attribution of guilt, self-image and punishment. We described mental disorders in psychiatric protective treatment and their forensic significance. We used the qualitative analysis of semi-structured interview, method called pie of guilt, medical records and forensic expert testimony. The sample consisted of 16 patients of psychiatric protective treatment in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice, Praha, Czech republic. Collected data are various and they account for the heterogenity of research group. The main work result is a support for opinion that not only mental disorder, but also many other factors such as personality, substance abuse or poor impulse control, are responsible for the origin of offence and that patients are conscious of it and they don't interpret it only within the frame of mental disorder. The work highlights on the using of many ego mechanisms of defense to cope with feelings of guilt and...

Změny paměti epizodického typu v průběhu stárnutí / Episodic-like memory changes during agingČechová, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
The Diploma thesis is concerned with the human episodic-like memory and its changes during the course of healthy ageing. Episodic memory represents a memory of specific events and their spatiotemporal relations, involving conscious retrieval and mental time travel. As a testable analogy in animals, a concept of episodic-like memory has been suggested and defined as a memory of spatiotemporal location of a certain event in the past ("what-where-when"). Firstly, we focused on a methodological comparison of standard psychological tests of episodic memory and a novel non-verbal computer-based Episodic-Like Memory Test (EMT) with several variants of varying difficulty, capable of discerning the memory for pictures, their sequence and position (Vlček et al., 2009). The second goal of our study was to demonstrate the applicability of the concept of episodic-like memory ("what- where-when") as a model in the testing of human episodic memory. Compared with other tests of episodic memory, EMT test does not depend on the verbalization of content. Contrasting the results obtained from EMT and other standard tests was, therefore, of interest. The results from the EMT test were compared across three age cohorts (N = 58; young, middle-aged, aged) of healthy volunteers. In the spatial domain of episodic-like...

This diploma thesis researches the effect of yoga group exercising on children diagnosed with developmental coordination disorder. The theoretical part provides an overview of knowledge about the developmental coordination disorder, it mentions the issue with nomenclature and summarizes the options of treatment. It also deals with yoga, especially it's use as a form of therapy for wide range of diagnosis in adults as well as in children population. The aim of the practical part was to find out if there is any improvement in motor and other abilities after group exercising of yoga. Children were examined by Movement Assessment Battery for Children 2 and by selected subtests from Sensory Integration and Praxis test, specifically Postural Praxis, Bilateral Motor Coordination, Postrotary Nystagmus, Manual Form Perception and Localization of Tactile Stimuli. Parents of children filled Short Sensory Profile and Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire. The study demonstrated improvement in MABC-2 test results, specifically in Aiming and Catching and Balance subtests. There was also significant improvement in these subtests of Sensory Integration and Praxis test: Postural Praxis, Bilateral Motor Coordination and Localization of Tactile Stimuli. Both questionnaires did not show any improvement.

Behavioral and emotional disorders in the context of school and social consequences for the first grade of elementary school pupil. Abstract: This dissertation dealt with the issue of behavioral disorders with children in younger school age. Its main goal was to ascertine the extent of the behavioral disorders of pupils in the first grade of primary school from the teachers perspective and to find out which symptoms of behavioural disorders are the most frequently manifested by pupils in several elementary schools in Prague. Then to analyze the impact of these symptoms or rather behavior disorder on school results, peer relations and relational attitudes of teachers to pupils with behavioral disorders. The final aim was to find out and assess the cooperation between school and the family. Also interest and willingness of the family to collaborate on potentional correction or educational measures proposed by school. This dissertation is entirely practical because it presents a real pedagogical background and its only respondents were the class teachers, which were supposed to know the relations in the classroom. Léčba posttraumatické stresové poruchy a závislosti na návykových látkách: přehled zahraničních modelů integrované léčby / Integrated Treatment for Co-occuring Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Use Disorder: Review of International ExperiencesKamenová, Sabina January 2017 (has links)
Introduction: There is a frequent incidence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in people with substance use disorder (SUD) and there is also a frequent occurrence of substance use in people with PTSD. Many foreign authors highlight the complications that occur in individuals with this dual diagnosis: higher risk of drop-out from treatment, a higher number of suicide attempts, more serious consequences of substance use, more frequent relapses of both of two diagnoses, etc. The negative impact of this comorbidity on treatment outcomes, highlights the need to focus on improving procedures in the diagnosis of PTSD in people treating from SUD and a need of integrated treatment of both disorders. Many studies also suggest that improving the condition of PTSD increases the likelihood of improvement in substance use. In the Czech Republic, there is a lack of sources that focus on the relationship of these comorbidities and their treatment. Examples of a good practice are also missing. Aims: The aim of this thesis is to introduce the issue of dual diagnosis - PTSD and SUD. The intention of the theoretical part is to present the relationship of these two disorders, with a focus on possible etiology and treatment options. The aim of the practical part is to introduce specific models of integrated...

Porucha tělesného schématu u pacientek hospitalizovaných s mentální anorexií / Execise Therapy in Female Adolescents Hospitalised with Anorexia NervosaUlrichová, Michaela January 2021 (has links)
Objective: Body image disturbance is one of the main characteristics of anorexia nervosa (AN). It is present in different stages of the disease, often persisting even after the end of the treatment, and is one of the predictors of a relaps. Body image is composed of two main components - the perceptual component, and the attitudinal component. Anorexia nervosa patients show a disturbed attitudinal component of the body image. The perceptual component disruption hasn't been completely proven yet. Many authors do, however, warn about the overestimation of bodily proportions of patients with AN and it's possible relation with characteristics such as BMI. Goals: The main goal of the dissertation thesis was the objectivization of the body image disturbance of the patients hospitalized with anorexia nervosa, the comparison of their results with a group of healthy girls of the same age, and the search for factors connected to the defect of the body image. A side goal of the dissertation thesis was the measurement of the effect of kinesiotherapy on the anxiety level of AN patients. Methods: As a part of the practical section, the measurements of 27 hospitalized patients and 20 healthy girls were completed. Probands underwent body size estimation of 4 bodily segments. They estimated the length of their arm,...
