John Ruskin: “Books for people mean the same thing as wings for birds”. From the project inception , the idea was to create pleasant and synoptic inner space for users of the library which would attract them to come in and enjoy the atmosphere. Compact form of the building is the reaction to the surrounding disparate urban structure. The proposed building doesnt only serve to its own purpose, but also defines a new outdoor space where residents can meet , interact or just relax on the journey to the center.

Master 's thesis Městská knihovna v Přerově is developing the new city library for town Přerov. This project is based on semestral project strategy for library, which was searching for the best place for the building. Master's thesis is situating the new city library in waterfront area Na Marku, near the new Tyršův most.

Library is situated on the main pedestrian ways to the city centre between park and a street and it is designed as a gate. Main space inside is three foor hight study hall which connects higher floors and exterior.

The main task of the diploma thesis was to deal new public library for the city of Přerov . At first it was necessary to determine the most suitable place for the library. New place for the library was selected on the location at the Evangelic Church on the street Velké Novosady. The library is located in the south of the place to form a partial barrier along a busy road to the land and to create new space square around the church and significant sculpture. In the second half of the location was designed park area. Ground floor also offers a commercial use due to functional divide of building.

Thesis contains design of a new building for the city library in Prerov. The library is located on area Na Marku on the left bank of the river Bečva. The building consists of two basic masses with different functions and character.

Main subject of these diploma project was finding a good location for the library building in Prerov city and design these library, too. Selected place is located of the edge part of the wider town center, not so far from the lively crossroad of the Komenskeho and Velke Novosady street. Parcel with the evangelical church is currently used mainly for parking for the residents of surrounding residential buildings. The object mass is trying to shape and define city spaces and logical and sensitive respond surrounding development.

The aim of this project is to properly implement the new library building in the territory. It also brings new value for the people of the borough. With the integration of library functions improves the life of the borough.

The project is solving problem with Library in Prerov and its location on the site and connection to existing infrastructure. The project can be divided into three parts - urban solutions, architectural design and technical solutions. Urban solutions The area is currently degraded by uncontrolled parking of cars and too much communication. This causes confusion functioning of transport and pedestrians weaving between cars. Vegetation is devastated. Influencing factor is the close proximity to the City Circle, whose importance will increase, if realized "shortcut" towards the main railway and bus station. The proposal aims to improve respectively. build high-quality public space. The library building is defined as a solitaire, a reaction to the complicated and urban neighborhood. Its placed on the Conner for puting there some object of interrest. Communications are in the area reduced. Towards the north west corner of the square is placed park. The composition of park is as organic as a library. Architectural design The shape of the building based on the urban situation and the requirements to define solitary building. First shape was circle that was formed into the shape of an ellipse.Outer shell is made from glass up to ensure connected with outdoor space. Horizontal structure is dividet into two sections. The first floor is public place with cofe etc. The rest of floor space is used for administration and supply. The second floor is only for memebers of library. There is situated all books, study places and storages for books. Library has three departments. Department for adults, department for children and music department. The technical solution The basis of construction of the building are reinforced concrete columns with „extendet head“. These are placed on the base plate with the pilots.

The subject of the Diploma thesis was the city library in Prerov. Solved plot is located on the square of Prerov rebellion, near the historical center, on the pedestrian route from the center to one of the largest residential areas of the city. Urban solution is based on the nature of the site, which determines the spatial park and building of cinema named Hvezda. The proposed building complements unused corner opposite the church at the northern edge of the territory back somewhat from the road front space and creating public place respecting the imaginary street line on the east side of the building defined cinema. The building is divided vertically into 2 parts - a larger platform with a green roof that moves freely in the park and is its part, second part is the main corner rectangular compound libraries 'growing up' from the green platform.

In one of the sites tested in the winter semester design a municipal library in the scope and content corresponding to the goal of the study, construction and size of the specified property. project has the ability to design functional test any object in an urban environment, in relation to the surrounding Environments. The project must be documented in the author's sufficient maturity composition of external and interior, design layout of the building and its architectural design.
