This thesis investigates the trend of cassava production and assesses the importance of the crop to livelihoods of Nigerians. Using qualitative analysis of secondary information obtained from reliable domestic and international organizations, the findings show that cassava serves as a major source of income and food for rural farmers, as well as people living in urban communities. Nonetheless, the study further shows that the industry is constantly bedevilled by problems ranging from soil infertility to poor quality of planting materials, as well as pests and diseases. These issues put a serious question mark on the future integrity of the country as the leading producer of the crop. By implication, cassava production, though ascending in terms of productivity and yield, yet, its future is precarious and unpredictable. Among the recommendations include, dealing with the spread of pests and diseases through careful selections amongst farm improved planting materials and conscious education for local farmers

Cílem práce je vytvořit plastický obraz produkce a trhu kávou. Obsahuje nástin dějin kávy a kaváren, zabývá se významem kávy v mezinárodním obchodě a kávovou krizí. Popisuje aspekty pěstování, zpracování kávy a jejího uvedení na trh v produkční zemi včetně transportu do odběratelských zemí. Zahrnuje výčet hlavních pěstitelských oblastí a charakteristiku nejvýznamnějších producentů kávy. Je zde vysvětlena organizace trhu, formování cen kávy, zachycen současný stav a základní vývojové tendence na trhu. V práci jsou také představeni nejvýznamnější spotřebitelé kávy a nastíněny současné trendy na trhu v oblasti kávové politiky.

This thesis entitled "The biogass transformations analysis" is looking into the problematics of unconventional substrates usage in biogas plants, specifically of sugar beet pulps usage. We made two tests of anaerobic substrate conversion into methane in the two types of digesters, at the temperature of 41°C. The test No. 1 (a) lasted 26 days at organic loading rate of 6 kg ODM/m3 and the test No. 2 (b) lasted for 14 days at organic loading rate of 4,25 kg ODM/m3. Specific biogas productions were 0,8152 (a) and 0,626 (b) m3/kg OS, specific methane productions were 0,4422 (a) and 0,326 (b) m3/kg OS. The average methane content was 58,1 (a) and 56,3 (b) %. The final organic matter to methane conversion efficiency reached 92,8 (a) and 63,8 (b) %. ________________________ (a) Digesters volume of 120 dm3 (b) Digesters volume of 3 dm3

Presented diploma thesis is focused on the specification of the competitiveness of Czech producers on the European market of poultry meat. It deals with the development of production and the overall balance of the commodity on the Czech market. It identifies the key factors specifying the effectiveness of Czech producers in the market and compares its level with selected countries of the European Union. On the Czech market it analyzes the basic factors of supply and demand, consumption and balance of poultry meat, the price trend in all stages of verticals, ie agricultural producer prices, industrial producer prices and consumer prices and foreign trade. On the basis of analysis parameters and results of two selected Czech companies which are engaged in rearing poultry processing of basic raw materials and then selling a chicken, it will be considered the final consumer. It also monitors competitiveness.
