The goal of this thesis is to research to role of data profiling in data quality management and the quality of existing data profiling SW tools. The role of data profiling was based up an analysis of the general methodology of approach to the management of data quality. I've compiled an own methodology for the analysis of data profiling tools. This methodology focuses on three main aspects: Technical requirements, User friendliness and Functionality. Based on the methodology the best SW solution for data profiling was chosen. General shortcomings of tested SW tools were also analysed.

This thesis deals with the managerial competencies, which regards them as a means to develop students' vocational profiling of Economics University of South Bohemia. The aim of this thesis was to determine the competencies should students or graduates of universities with economic focus, to have. Based on these findings have been recommended and proposed activities, which should lead to improved professional development of students of EF JU and their better employability. As a part of the Modern Tools for Detection and Mitigation of Cyber Criminality on the New Generation Internet project, a Lawful Interception System was developed. This thesis describes additions to the system, which provide a capability to intercept application protocols (eg. an e-mail communication) directly in a network of an Internet service provider. This new functionality enables automatic detection and filtering of a related TCP transfer. It is also able to handle situations, in which the identity (an IP address) of a target user is not known yet, or when it is difficult to detect it (NAT is in progress, user is at an Internet café, behind the firewall, etc.). One of the most important requirements for the developed prototype is the ability of a fast packet proccessing with maximum throughput and minimal packet loss. Therefore, this thesis also consists of a performance profiling, an identification of critical points and their optimalization.

This topic is currently critical in several scientific and commercial areas. Information value, information quality and the quality of the source data differs between the various systems. This is not only due to the different topologies of the information sources but also because of its different understanding and a manner of storing the information describing the entity of the enterprise. Such information systems, respectively database systems in the scope of the thesis, could perform well as the stand alone systems. The issue appears in the moment when such heterogeneous systems are required to be integrated and the information shall be migrated between each other. The thesis is logically divided into four major parts based on these issues.
