This diploma thesis is devided to a theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part deals with historical development of writing desks and current problematic of work at home environment. It contents information about ergonomic area, ecology and a current creation. Practical part describes the process of designing and workflow of designer. Result is the integrated design home office, it means working table, that fulfills specific input requirements and becomes a furniture of valuable design. Components of practical part are sketches, design of material and construction solution, visualization and the final model.

The subject of diploma thesis is the design of the writing desk. This thesis consists of two parts. From the theoretical and the practical. The theoretical part includes cross section of the historical development writing desks, and current trends in this field, issues of domestic work environment, ergonomic and legal requirements. The theoretical part is default for the practical part. It includes sketches, material and constructional solution, 3D visualization, mapping the evolution of the design of the desk from initial sketches to final form.

The theoretical part is focused on historical, contemporary movements of the phenomenon all at once. Inclusive of reflecting on alphabets in art and also links to a medial communication. The second part of the diploma dissertation reacts to the strongest and the most inspiring moments. It focuses on a practical applications for art lessons. The third part [artistic] takes advantage of media knowledges and art lessons. They are interfaced into an interactive teaching material which challenges students to an active perception of visual culture.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce the reader to a new writing model Comenia Script and the results of its establishing during the first years of a school attendance. The theoretical part deals with a developement of a script, a characteristic of a cursive Latin alphabet writing and Comenia Script and a contemporary education of a first-year writing. In the practical part the findings gathered during the participant observation of the entrusted sample of respondents were analysed and the questionnaire survey focussed on attitudes of involved pupils' parents was evaluated.

Výchova a vzdělávání dětí - leváků / Upbringing and Education of Left-handed Children

This diploma thesis focuses on the important knowledge related to education and bringing up left-handed children. The theoretical part focuses on the explanation of the term laterality and its diagnostics and also on the methodology of left-handed writing and the preparatory exercises for writing. Furthermore this part points to some various causes and effects suppression of left- handedness, and a brief insight into a former approach and an actual approach. This part offers information to the new trend in writing - Czech school font called Comenia Script. The practical part concentrates on the development of writing for left-handed in the commonly used writing alphabet, and in the font Comenia Script. There is also included a tentative questionnaire for primary school teachers and an observation and teaching of left- handed pupils in four different grades at primary schools. Role koordinace kreslení a psaní ve vývoji ke školní zralosti / Role of coordination between drawing and writing in the development toward school readiness

In this diploma thesis we build on the topic of mental operation used in Jirásek's orientation test of school readiness. We aim to explain which mental operations are crucial for acquiring the skill of looped writing reproducing. We are looking for children's ideas about writing, in particular for their way of expressing the ideas about looped writing. Our theory is based on Piagetian approach and we also do a comparison to other authors, namely Anette Karmiloff Smith, Emilia Ferreiro and Ana Teberosky, Esther Adi-Japha and Norman Freeman. Data obtained using cross-sectional research on preschool children (of age from three to six years) suggest that there is a link between a success in the test of looped writting reproducing and iconicity overcoming. On the other hand, no link was found between acquiring the skill of quazi-iconicity and looped writting reproducing.
