Kramolišová, Kateřina January 2010 (has links)
Diploma work "Mental Ilnes in the beginning of institualization czech psychiatry in 19th and 20th century" inform about slowly change in view on Madness phenomen in Europe history. This change from religious to medical care is very clear in the period if Enlightenment. Reflexion of this change from religious to medical care is also vivid in czech environment in 1869-1914. In my aproach to this problem were very important the medicals reports from Mental Sanatorium in Kosmonosy (this reports are from 1908-1910). In this materials I could study this medical turn in medical care about madmen. I raised the question of the role of physicians and psychiatrists in this process and I was also interested in the issue of mental stigmatization and its impact to social cooperation beetwen mental ills and "normal" society.

Specifika sociální práce s jednotlivcem / Specifics of social work with individuals

HAVLÍČKOVÁ, Silvie January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the problem of the specific features of working with an individual. As this is a very wide topic difficult to grasp for the interviewees, a narrower focus was created, on the area of mental health/illness. The theoretical part is divided into two sections. In the first one, a description of mental illness is found, to permit basic clarity and the imagination of working with this target group. The second part focuses on social activity, on the problem of caring for the mentally ill, and last but not least on the Reformation of psychiatric care, when the origin of Mental Health Centers (further mentioned as MHC) is related also to the adjustment of the work, methodology and approach of social workers. The practical part was created based on a qualitative research, via a semi-structured interview with workers, focusing on social work with mentally ill people. Due to creating an MHC in FOKUS Vysočina Region and via cooperating with the medical sector, i.e. also the Psychiatric Hospital in Havlíčkův Brod, the survey was implemented in the Havlíčkův Brod area serving as a catchment area. The aim of this thesis is to describe specific features of social work from social workers´ side working with mentally ill people (individuals) in the Havlíčkův Brod area. Using the research question: What specific features do social workers claim when working with mentally ill individuals. The executed research has proven that the specific theories and techniques used most include the interview, active listening, crisis intervention and the approach focused on the client. Further in the area of housing, finance, relationships, and the mental illness itself. The non-profit sector workers see a specific feature in cooperating with the medical sector, necessary for working in MHC and in the Recovery approach (the CARe method).

Augustin Navrátil a jeho disidentská činnost / Augustin Navrátil and his disident activities

Kordíková, Marta January 2012 (has links)
Augustin Navrátil This thesis addresses the life and work of Augustin Navrátil (1928-2003), a Roman- -Catholic activist from the Moravian township of Lutopecny near Kroměříž. A. Navrátil has not been subject of a complex publication yet, although he is the author of the largest petition demanding religious - and with that going hand in hand also civic - liberties in socialist Czechoslovakia (1988, 600 000 signatures). Followingly, this is the first attempt to biographically outline the personality and motivations of this farmer, politician (member of the party Lidova strana), man who signed Charta 77 but also a husband and father of nine children. The aim is to cover his life from his birth, over his family background to the beginnings and heights of his social engagement. The text will mainly deal with 22 open letters in which he drew attention to various illegal practices and actions of the Communist power, as well as with the three petitions he authored (1978, 1985 a 1988) and the samizdat (self-published) journal Křesťanské obzory (Christian horizons), which he published with a group of others from June 1988 to July 1990. In contrast to most Czech dissidents, he was never sentenced to a prison term for his activities, but he had to involuntarily undergo repeated psychiatric treatment. He was...

Role ventrálního hipokampu a mediální prefrontální kůry v behaviorální flexibilitě u hlodavců / Role of ventral hippocampus and medial prefrontal cortex in behavioral flexibility in rodents

Černotová, Daniela January 2020 (has links)
Behavioral adaptation to a continuously changing environment is critical for the survival of the animals, but also day-to-day interactions in the human world. The main components maintaining flexibility in cognition and behavior are well-established and depend mostly on proper intercommunication within the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and striatum. Some parts of the PFC are densely innervated by the ventral hippocampus (vHPC), which has a great impact on its functioning. Also, hippocampal-prefrontal circuit dysfunction has been shown to disrupt the integrity of flexible cognition in some neuropsychiatric diseases. Therefore, the exact functional role of this pathway is an indispensable part of the research. The aim of this study was to test the role of the vHPC and the medial PFC (mPFC) in an active place avoidance task on a rotating arena in 1) two flexibility task variants - reversal learning and set- shifting - and 2) the spatial memory retrieval. We inactivated these structures by muscimol (GABAA receptor agonist) in a variety of unilateral, bilateral, and combined local injections. Disrupted performance was apparent in reversal learning in vHPC-inactivated rats. No effect was seen in mPFC-inactivated rats. Impairments after the task acquisition were observed in bilateral vHPC and mPFC inactivations...

The objective is to provide information needed to the institute management for managerial decision as to the commercial use of sports venues in order to increase the income from additional activities. The issue for the institution management remains whether or not this business plan is to be put in place within the framework of additional activities by Governmental non-for-profit organisation or a civic association, of which the Psychiatric Institution of Bohnice is the founder. Methods: The methods applied in the diploma thesis are as follows: descriptive, comparative, financial and the SWOT analysis, and interview and a survey. The descriptive analysis focuses on the description of the sports venues' current condition, the comparative analysis deals with their competitiveness, the financial analysis covers varied financial flows of the project, the SWOT analysis determines the topical strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the business plan. The use of an interview then fine-tunes the business plan as such. The survey is conducted to carry out...
