Energy efficient buildings in Qingdao, China

Tengteng, Sun January 2011 (has links)
At present, an important task for Chinese governments at all levels is to save energy and reduce pollutant emissions. The task of buildings energy efficiency accounts for 21% in the 12th Five Year Plan which from 2011 to 2015. With the development of social economy, the energy shortage is serious day by day.The energy-conservation of buildings is a high relevant issue in China. There are a large capacity and a wide range of existing buildings in Qingdao among which the overwhelming majority is the non-energy-efficient buildings and the operate energy consumption are enormous. At Present, according to the related statistic, the energy efficient building area only accounts for 3% to 5% of the total building area newly increased in our country every year, while in such existing buildings in Qingdao ,most of them are highly energy-consuming, the energy consumption in buildings is about 100-350 kWh for each floor area of the whole year, which is 2 to 3 times of the energy consumption of the same area of energy efficient buildings. So we can say that whether could we promote the effective use of resources and energy in buildings is very important, which will finally determine whether could we and take the road to sustainable development. In respect of the application of the complicated systematic scientific conclusions, the thesis carries out the analysis of geographic and climate characteristics in Qingdao area and the research of current energy consumption. Based on the quantitative model analysis of environmental and economic benefits of implementation of energy efficient buildings in Qingdao in scenario k, promotion and implementation of energy efficient buildings can substantially reduce the current high environmental cost associated with energy consumption for heating and cooling in buildings in Qingdao. Emission including carbon dioxides, sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxides and ash can be reduced, it means that under the scenario k energy efficient buildings has an idea performance on reducing pollutant gas. At the same time, companied by the great environmental benefits, there are also substantial economic benefits. Barriers to energy efficiency in buildings in Qingdao, including political, economic, social and technological barriers are discussed in this thesis. According to the investigation and analysis about the present situation and factors affecting the implementation of energy efficient buildings in Qingdao, this thesis put forward recommendations from the aspects of environment, politics, economy, society and technology to improving energy efficient buildings in Qingdao.

人才在地化:韓商青島個案研究 / Localization of HRM for Korean Companies

蔡奎載, Chae, Mark (Chae,Gew-jae) Unknown Date (has links)
After the establishment of diplomatic relations between Republic of Korea and People’s Republic of China in 1992, investments by Korean into China continue to rise. Shandong and Jiangsu provinces take the lead in attracting investments from Korea, while Chengyang District, Qingdao witnesses the pool effects of Korean firms with “Korean Town” in place. The seasoning of Korean firms in the region calls for the localization of top management. Korean firms do not take it for granted that local subsidiaries need to be dictated by Korean people when it comes to long-term operation and continued success. The human resources management pattern of Korean firms is conducting the localization amid the era of globalization, by nurturing technical personnel and managers to bring local elements into play. Key Koreaninvestors in Chengyang District are labor-intensive, mid- and small-scale enterprises. In the year 2008, Korean firms get burdened by the implementation of the State Employee Contract Law, the rise in minimum wage, and the appreciation of Chinese Yuan (RMB). Negligence of Korean firms also gives rise to problems of labor. The present thesis strives to grasp how the labor management system operates in large, mid and small scale enterprises of several industries in Qingdao, draws out the degree of localization, and conducts in-depth analysis of situations and solutions. Exploratory research is practiced throughout the paper. Thorough interview were conducted to gather material, and analysis and confirmation is based on case studies. Compensation and position, the degree of trust, and the inter-action of local government, the Korean enterprises and the workers are at the core of the paper.

A comparative and typo-morphological study on the early mass-housing of colonial cities in China

Yang, Yuping, 杨玉平 January 2011 (has links)
Set against the backdrop of the crisis of cultural expression and global assimilation existing in many cities in China, modern house forms of limited types are copied and mass-produced, regardless of local culture, topography and climate. Typo-morphological study has been identified and developed as a base for theoretical discussion and empirical case studies, mainly focusing on the relationship between elements of form. In this study, it is used to systematically investigate diverse early mass-housing built in China in the period from the beginning of the 20th century to the onset of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937. The mass-housings in Qingdao, Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, six significant colonial cities in China, are selected as case studies. The early mass-housing was a new leading building type of the time, successfully meeting the needs of occupants, and becoming valuable assets from which people can derive benefits. However, most scholars have only investigated the early mass-housing from an isolated perspective, thereby forfeiting the opportunity to identify what is important to that particular localized building culture, what distinguishes it from other cultures, and intrinsic characteristics originating from that locale. Therefore, comparative analysis of the early mass-housing is necessary to identify and explore characteristics significant in cultural and environmental adaptation. Moreover, such an analysis helps develop a better understanding of the evolution of the housing in context. Based on an extensive literature review, this research selects significant and representative examples from the six cities. Assisted by a systematic typo-morphological framework formulated by Conzen, Caniggia and Kropf, this study investigates the morphological characteristics of these examples at fabric and building levels. A comparative analysis is then undertaken of the components of these housing estates within a typological process, which is inherent in the sequence of building types and characterizes an area. Finally, it gets the conclusion that such housing in these cities share few morphological patterns; meanwhile, diversity and contradictions also exist for reasons that go beyond varying climates and geographical locations. By building up the typological process, this study (with certain qualifications), is able to explore the constituent parts or elements of housing forms and their interaction in the formation process, which can have implications for the further housing development. / published_or_final_version / Architecture / Master / Master of Philosophy
