Metoda bootstrap ve finančních časových řadách / Bootstrap in financial time series

Krnáč, Ján January 2011 (has links)
In this diploma thesis we explain the main principles and properties of bootstrap methods, that can be used to conduct the statistical inference in linear and nonlinear financial time series. We will introduce basic ideas of bootstrap methods for the case when observations can be considered as independent random variables, and afterwards we will describe more advanced methods, that can be successfully used when we are dealing with time series. Thesis deals with both parametric bootstrap methods, that we can use when the underlying parametric model of observations is available, as well as with nonparametric bootstrap methods that are used when more general nonparametric model of time series data is considered. The main objective is to compare particular bootstrap methods and show the usage of these methods on real world data. There is also a basic time series theory included in the work. 1

Změna role předsednictví Rady EU po Lisabonské smlouvě na příkladu Maďarského a Polského předsednictví a jejich vliv na Východní partnerství EU / Change of the Presidency of the Council of the EU's role after the Lisbon Treaty on the Example of Hungarian and Polish Presidencies and their Influence in Eastern Partnership

Vavricova, Linda January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this Master thesis was to find out whether the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union was able to exert influence in EU's external relations after the Lisbon Treaty has entered into force. Thesis was looking on two post-Lisbon Council Presidencies- Hungarian Council Presidency and the Polish Council Presidency and their influence in Eastern Partnership-the flagship initiative of both of these presidencies. Through the identification of the informal roles of the rotating presidency-agenda setter role and broker's role, the influence on the development of Eastern Partnership of both Council Presidencies was determined. The other factors such as the reputation of the presiding country, stable domestic political situation, ability to deal with unexpected developments have been considered as important pre-requisites for the Council Presidency to be able to exert influence through its informal roles.

Příjmy vrcholového managementu firem vyrábějících návykové zboží / Executive Compensation in Firms Producing Addictive Goods

Janský, Michael January 2015 (has links)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Social Sciences Institute of Economic Studies Title Page MASTER'S THESIS Executive Compensation in Firms Producing Addictive Goods Author: Bc. Michael Janský Supervisor: Jiří Novák, M.Sc., Ph.D. Academic Year: 2014/2015 Abstract This thesis investigates executive compensation, turnover and migration patterns in firms that produce addictive goods (tobacco, alcohol, and gambling). Previous research has identified costs associated with the production of harmful goods specific to these industries. Consistent with this stream of research, I find increased executive compensation in tobacco, alcohol, and gambling firms. This finding seems to be driven by industry specific characteristics, rather than by executives' traits or by the 'traditional' determinants of executive compensation. Executive migration patterns and the effect of job change on compensation indicate that the higher compensation is not caused by executives' attributes well suited for these firms' specific needs, by executives' contribution to value-creating activities, or by other executive-specific characteristics. Rather, the higher compensation seems to reflect a payment to executives for having to bear society's aversion to or displeasure with these harmful goods, and those who produce them. JEL...

Volba a odvolání členů představenstva a dozorčí rady akciové společnosti ve srovnávacím pohledu / Election and removal of members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company from a comparative perspective

Kolarczyková, Eva January 2013 (has links)
Election and removal of members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company from a com- parative perspective The diploma thesis deals with the ways of the appointment and removal of the members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company in the Czech Republic and in Great Britain. It focuses on three main areas: the appointment, removal and the eligibility of members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company. The aim of the thesis is not only to describe the Czech and British legal provisions on these topics, but also to compare and evaluate them. Within the scope apart from other things it attempts to answer these questions: whether the new Czech Companies Act which will come into force on the 1st January 2014 has been influenced to some extent by the British Companies Act 2006 or whether British pattern did not offer any inducement to any change. The thesis consists of seven chapters. The first three chapters analyse legislation of the Czech Republic. They describe legal provisions of the cur- rent Commercial Code and compare them with the provisions of the new Companies Act and the new Civil Code. The next three chapters describe British law. The last chapter compares and evaluates legislations of both states. The first chapter...

Proměny pojetí dítěte a dětství / Changes in the concept of the child and childhood

Dluhošová, Adéla January 2012 (has links)
This thesis examines the changes in perception of the child and the childhood from the Early Modern Age until today. Primarily, the thesis investigates the quality of life of infants and education advice concerning the first year of age. The historic part of the thesis addresses the changes in infant treatment depending on the social status of the mother. Further, the thesis discusses the possible origin of these changes in folk traditions and examines the role of authorities by reference to historical education guide books. Moreover, the thesis points out the influence of science and rationality on the infant treatment. Given the fact that there is no summarizing research available about the infant treatment in the 20th century, the thesis analyses different infant approaches using education guide books from this time period. Using data from a survey among contemporary mothers, which investigates their beliefs about infant education including the origin of these beliefs, the thesis aims to analyse the most popular guide books among the mothers. The findings from the research are used to outline problematic aspects of the present-day motherhood. Based on the comprehension of the historical connections, the thesis discusses the profound context of different contemporary education approaches....

Lidská práva starších osob v dokumentech Rady Evropy / Elder rights in documents of the Council of Europe

Košinová, Sabina January 2021 (has links)
Elder rights in documents of the Council of Europe The aim of this thesis is to describe documents of the Council of Europe concerning Elderly people. Documents of the Council of Europe do not contain a definition of an elderly person - like, for example, the Interamerican Union or African Union documents. We have to first find the definition of the elderly where the Council of Europe documents call a person who is over 60 years of age "elderly".The documents of the Council of Europe are a tool that is designed to help the human rights of the elderly. The aim of the documents of the Council of Europe regarding elderly people is to protect and improve the situation of the elderly who are because of their age considered a vulnerable group. The documents of the Council of Europe deal with problems like pensions, age discrimination and access to services. The most current issues that the Council of Europe have reported in their documents in 2020 and 2021 are digitalization and the coronavirus pandemic as well as the impact it has on the elderly. The documents of the Council can be divided into two types: bindng and non-binding. Binding Documents are Conventions - the most important is the European convention of human rights and European social charter. These documents offer direct protection....

Lališ, Roman January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the financial health of microenterprise using statistical methods, specifically time series. The selected size of the enterprise is related to important asset, since this type of analysis is not usually automated. In theoretical part, thesis will discuss each monitored indicator that forms the basis for statistical analysis, which is also described in the theoretical level. The practical part will focus on specific statements obtained, their financial and statistical analysis, and then creating a program in the language of Excel VBA to automate these activities.

Studium negaussovských světelných křivek pomocí Karhunenova-Loveho rozvoje / Studium negaussovských světelných křivek pomocí Karhunenova-Loveho rozvoje

Greškovič, Peter January 2011 (has links)
We present an innovative Bayesian method for estimation of statistical parameters of time series data. This method works by comparing coefficients of Karhunen-Lo\`{e}ve expansion of observed and synthetic data with known parameters. We show one new method for generating synthetic data with prescribed properties and we demonstrate on a numerical example how this method can be used for estimation of physically interesting features in power spectra calculated from observed light curves of some X-ray sources.
