This thesis presents an overview of the history, occurrence and claims for environmental and agricultural technologies in growing the type and contains of fruit substances. In addition, the literature review describes the laborious harvest, many species, but also a wide range of options for how to use the buckthorn. A part of the study was to compare returns from species (´Hergo´, ´Vitamínová´, ´Buchlovický´, ´Leicora´) and on this basis recommend the species, which are suitable for cultivation in Czech republic. Moreover external parameters were compared and the substances contained in the fruits of different species. This made it possible to compare the species with the highest and lowest solid, refractive solids, vitamin C, carotenoids and simultaneously fruits with the largest and smallest length, width and also with highest and lowest weight.

This thesis deals with the evaluation of the available books and possibilities of the growing of sea buckthorn (Hippophaë rhamnoides L.) in the Czech Republic. Physical and chemical values which are necessary for planting sea buckthorn in the area of Lednice were measured and specified. The female plants of the species of ´Buchlovsky 1´, ´Hergo´, ´Leikora´, ´Vitamínová´, and the male plant of ´Buchlovsky 2´, ´Pollmix´ and ´Ruský´ were studied and evaluated. As for the products made of sea buckthorn, speads and juices with various amount of sugar, baked tea and sweetened sea buckthorn powder were evaluated from the sensory point of view. The issues of the growing and processing of s ea buckthorn were discussed with the producers of planting stock, commercial croppers and manufacturers within the whole Czech Republic. Sea buckthorn is not widespead and commercial area for growing does not meet the needs of the manufacturers. If all biotic and abiotic factors are taken into account, the growing of sea buckthorn is recommended in the Czech Republic.

In the literary part this work focuses on the history, botanical classification and description of plants. The method of cultivation and harvesting is summarized. Described are varieties that can be use the practical part. It is the use of seabuckthorn and its contents. The experimental parts summarize and evaluate the possibilities of growing seabuckthorn on the experimental plot in Žabčice. Here were observed female varieties ´Aromat´, ´Augustinka´, ´Buchlovický 1´, ´Habeg´, ´Hergo´, ´Krasavice´, ´Leicora´, ´Perčik´, ´Sibirskij rumjaněc´, ´Sluníčko´, ´Trofimofský´ and ´Vitamínová´, male varieties ´Buchlovický 2´, ´Gnom´ and ´Polmix´. Habitat conditions of varieties and phenological phase were observed. The color, shape, weight and size of the fruit were assessed. Furthermore, yield and cubature shrubs. Vitamin C, dry matter and refractometric dry matter values were determined. Sensory properties of products were assessed.

Malfunctions, lesions and diseases on uncommon fruit trees was observed in the ŠZP Žabčice from April to October 2013. As the most important bacterial disease has been detected fire blight of the quince. Several sea-buckthorns died from multifactorial causes. There was incidence of powdery mildew and brown leaf spot on the Amelanchier, varieties of the A. alnifolia were more affected by leaf spot, while the varieties of the A. lamarckii had a significantly higher incidence of powdery mildew. On the rowan there was recorded scab and viral infection on the few trees. The minimum symptoms of diseases occurred on the dogwood, mulberry and rose. No symptoms of diseases were observed on medlar, but it was affected by chlorosis. Principles for the protection is correct agrotechnik and regular removal of infected and damaged parts of the trees. The hereby work describes a new product - herbal liquor containing antioxidants of elderberry and sea buckthorn. It is completely designed, manufactured and tested by a sensory analysis. I performed everything using a simple, low capital technologies, and raw materials, which could easily grow on soils in LF areas. Thus would these LF areas have an appropriate industrial applications . Since LF areas are often areas with high unemplyements I think the realization of such production could bring new job opportunities.

Diploma thesis deals with determination of vitamin C in various cultivars of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides, L.) and quince (Cydonia oblonga, Mill.). In theoretical part, there are mentioned basic information about these less known fruit species, their medically significant substances and utilization of these fruits. Various methods for determination of vitamin C are discussed with focus on HPLC and extraction of vitamin C from the matrix. In experimental part, the most suitable column (Gemini C18, 150 x 4,6 mm; 5 m) was chosen from six various columns. Analysis of vitamin C in various cultivars of quince and sea buckthorn fruits were carried out on this column. The various types of matrix preparation and two different separation systems (method with oxalic acid and system with phosphate buffer and methanol as a mobile phases) were investigated too. Vitamin C was determined as an ascorbic acid.

This diploma thesis deals with characterization of sea buckthorn oil. The sea buckthorn oil is frequently used as a food supplement and in dermatology. The first part summarizes the literature on sea buckthorn oil and its biological effects. In the experimental part, the thesis deals with the comparison of three commercially available preparates of sea buckthorn oils. We employed the basic characteristics of these oils, including the determination of peroxide value, iodine value, saponification value and acid value using titration methods. Spectroscopic measurements were used to further characterize the oils. The comparised sea buckthorn oil samples differed strongly in the peroxide value and in the stability during storage. In this respect, the oil from Relikt - Art Engel company had significantly lower value (2,95 mekv/kg) compared to other two oil samples studied from Elith Phito and Virde companies with peroxide values 12,68 and 8,97 mekv/kg. This value was also much less prone to increase during storage. A similar difference was also found in spectral and colorimetric characteristics of the oil samples, where this oil displayed much less optical density then the other two samples. This might be a result of different technology used for production of oils, or it may reflect some adulteration,...

The thesis is a proposal of the business plan for the SANDDORN Company Ltd., which will deal the growing sea-buckthorn, processing and subsequent sale of products produced from it. The company intends to enter the health food market, with specialization in the production of organic food. The thesis consists of several parts, where you can find the presumptions of the enterprise success, financial planning, and design of sequential steps for the implementation of the company.
