Vliv hospodaření se srážkovou vodou na zmírnění extrémních hydrologických jevů / Impact of rainwater management on mitigation of hydrological extremes

Pešková, Jitka January 2016 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the impact of rainwater harvesting on mitigation of hydrological extremes. Due to the fact that it is a very broad topic that cannot be completely elaborated, the work targets selected aspects of this issue. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is divided into the following five chapters: The water in the landscape, Water regime, Hydrological extremes, Water regime adjustment and Legislation. These chapters summarize available worldwide knowledge about rainwater harvesting both in the landscape and in urbanized areas with a focus on mitigation of extreme hydrological phenomena (floods - drought), including legislative security of water management on national and EU level. The second part of the thesis is compiled in the form of an annotated set of four scientific studies, whose results were presented in articles published in scientific journals. The first study targets the efficiency of torrent control (hydro-technical point of view and migration of water fauna). The second study focuses on the territory of the Morava River floodplains, where negative impacts of floods and droughts appear repetitively. The study solves the hydrological balance of the area using the WBCM-7 model. The third study focuses on computation method of the retention drainage capacity in the agricultural area drained by subsurface pipe drainage system. The last paper describes a new application of the Fourier series for detailed simulation of the runoff on a catchment in the dry periods. Within the thesis, these studies have been interconnected by explanatory comments.

Tulip Revolution: Expectations versus Reality. / Tulipánová revolúcia: očakávania verzus realita

Zalánová, Zuzana January 2010 (has links)
The dissertation deals with the phenomenon of hybrid regimes, specifically applied to the case of Kyrgyzstan. The main emphasis is placed on the 2005 Tulip Revolution and the regime of Kurmanbek Bakiyev installed by this event. Applying the theoretical concepts of hybrid regimes and regime change, the dissertation verifies the hypothesis that Kyrgyzstan's post-2005 political system retained its hybrid character and kept being neither a democracy nor an authoritarian regime. In this light, the Tulip Revolution brought about only a change of the leadership (as usual in coups d'état), not regime change (as might have been ushered by a democratic revolution).

Non-violent resistance: prípadová štúdia Egypt / Non-violent resistance: Case Study Egypt

Hodorová, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to the issue of non-violent resistance. It focuses on identifying factors that affect the success of non-violent campaigns. The paper presents and compares different types of resistance in achieving strategic objectives, particularly in terms of post-conflict democratic order of the country. The central premise of this thesis is that nonviolent campaigns bring a more fertile ground for developing a democratic regime opposed to their violent counterparts. The analyzed object in this paper is the Arab Spring in Egypt, specifically the course and the outcome of this non-violent revolution of 2011. The aim of this study is to identify the factors that influenced the course of the uprising and which ultimately led to the backfiring of this seemingly successful non-violent struggle in Egypt.

Změny srážko-odtokového režimu v povodí řeky Athabaska / Changes of rainfall-runoff regime in the Athabasca River basin

Fraindová, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
Athabasca River Basin is located in an area which is affected by many factors. During the last century, the global warming manifests here, resulting primarily into increasing temperatures and glaciers melting in the headwaters area. Much of the middle reaches watershed is used for agriculture, for irrigation of which water from the Athabasca River is pumped. In recent years, controversial development of bituminous sands mining is carried out in the basin. Although it represents a real energy source, the mining requires large amounts of water, which is largely drawn from the Athabasca River. The work therefore analyzes the runoff change in the upper, middle and lower reaches during the last forty years. Along with the time series air temperature changes and precipitation totals, which can also explain runoff changes, are analyzed. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Justiční reforma v Československu 1948 - 1953 / Judical reform in Czechoslovakia 1948 - 1953

Krátký, Jakub January 2014 (has links)
This work is introducing the processes which undergone in the Czechoslovak Justice during period of years 1948 and 1953. These processes resulted in complex change of the entire legal system in Czechoslovakia (CS). Newly established communist regime managed to build tight grip on power during the analyzed period of time. Changes of the justice, legal education and advocacy was analyzed by many excellent Czechoslovak scholars from area of law and contemporary history but their free publication was enabled after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. Important part of this work is analysis of the vital laws which was introduced during above mentioned period. First chapter is about important politician Alexej Cepicka, who was an architect of the whole judicial reform. Understanding of his role in the transformation of the society is necessary to understand the historical events. The second chapter focuses on the whole process of purification the society through mass organizations loyal to the communists and attempts to annihilate of the Catholic Church. The third chapter gives us an overview of the legal system transformation, with an emphasis on the new Constitution and vital repressive laws. In the following chapters, the transformation of the whole Czechoslovak justice, legal education and the...

Úpravy čerpadla pro provoz v turbinovém režimu / Modification of pump for turbine regime

Jahn, Jan January 2019 (has links)
Hydraulic design of a hydrodynamic machine is designed to achieve a high value of energy transformation efficiency. Pumps and turbines have some different typical features in hydraulic design. With the aid of computational fluid dynamics, adjustments of the hydraulic parts of a standard centrifugal pump are assessed with the aim to increase hydraulic efficiency of the pump running as turbine. The impeller, volute casing and added draft tube are discussed.

CFD simulace odstředivého čerpadla pracujícího v turbínovém chodu – vliv mezery mezi oběžným kolem a statorem na výsledky / CFD simulation of centrifugal pump working as a turbine (PaT) - influence of impeller side wall gaps on simulation results

Tomšej, Radek January 2020 (has links)
This master‘s thesis deals with a centrifugal pump running in reverse (turbine) mode, often called “pump-as-turbine”. The introduction lists basic principles and information about the direct (pump) and reverse modes. Several methodologies for predicting reverse operating point and efficiency evolution are used and compared with simulation results. Using CFD simulations, results obtained with simplified (excluding impeller side wall gaps) and complete geometry (including impeller side wall gaps) are assessed. Furthermore, the results of impeller trimming are evaluated with an aim to find the maximum power and efficiency. Impeller side wall gaps effect is analyzed in terms of friction torque and power loss.

Dynamická fokusace v ultrazvukové tomografii / Dynamic Focusing in Ultrasound Tomography

Kratochvíla, Jiří January 2010 (has links)
The aim of the master’s thesis, is to get acquainted with the dynamic focusing in conventional ultrasound systems, to modify this method for ultrasound computer tomography and to realize and interpret this modification on simulated and real data in a transparent graphic interface. The modification of the dynamic focusing was executed for the 3D ultrasound computer tomograph developed in Karlsruhe. Simulated data, that are necessary for focusing, were generated by existing program, which was adjusted. The new created program of the dynamic focusing was tested and evaluated with those simulated and real data.
