Kultura hygieny rukou / The Culture of Hand Hygiene

PAVLÍČKOVÁ, Eva January 2015 (has links)
Basic theoretical premises:Nursing personnel presents the most numerous professional group in the health care sector. They spend 24 hours a day and seven days a week with patients. The nursing personnel's inadequate hand hygiene may result in hospital-acquired infection with all its negative consequences. The knowledge and application of proper hand hygiene techniques as well as aseptic procedures play a key role in the prevention of nosocomial infection theoretical part of the thesis consists of two sections. The former section focuses on a detailed definition of hospital-acquired infection, its categorization, origin, and prevention. The latter section discusses hand hygiene, including its development since 1847. Particular attention is paid to WHO's "Five Moments for Hand Hygiene," the various techniques, obstacles, and improvement strategies.Goals of the thesis, research questions and hypotheses:The primary aim of the research was to establish whether the measures recommended in the "Five Moments for Hand Hygiene" were followed in selected hospitals in the Czech Republic. To reach this objective, three sub-goals were defined: Sub-goal no. 1: To establish, by means of the direct observation technique, whether proper hand hygiene was performed. Sub-goal no. 2: To map the application of proper hand hygiene in particular situations. Sub-goal no. 3: To test the proper hand disinfection by means of a fluorescent lotion and a UV lamp. Five hypotheses were postulated to reach the objectives. Hypothesis no. 1: The recommended hand hygiene techniques are adopted to the same degree in all hospitals under investigation. Hypothesis no. 2: The recommended hand hygiene measures are applied to the same degree in the five particular situations. Hypothesis no. 3: The hospital provider influences the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. Hypothesis no. 4: The level of education impacts the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. Hypothesis no. 5: The number of years of personnel's work experience affects proper hand hygiene compliance. Methodology:The practice-based research section of the present thesis contains quantitative results gathered from the field research in selected hospitals in the Capital City of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. The direct observation involved a test of the actual application of hand hygiene measures by means of a fluorescent lotion and a UV lamp. The results of the direct observation were recorded in the observation notes and subsequently processed by means of the Excel application from the Microsoft Office software suite. The Anova method was employed to test the set hypotheses. Graphics was used to interpret the outcome of the direct observation.Research batch: The research batch was presented by 104 non-physician staff members working in 7 hospitals administrated by 3 different providers and involving 3 different types of wards, all located in the Capital City of Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.Results:.As based on the results, the initial hypotheses were assessed as follows: Hypothesis no. 1: The recommended hand hygiene techniques are adopted to the same degree in all hospitals under investigation. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 2: The recommended hand-hygiene measures are applied to the same degree in the five particular situations/diagnoses. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 3: The hospital provider influences the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. The hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis no. 4: The level of education impacts the attitude toward proper hand hygiene. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis no. 5: The number of years of personnel's work experience affects proper hand hygiene compliance. The hypothesis was not confirmed..Conclusion:The present thesis offers an insight into the issue of proper hand hygiene of non-physician health care workers..

Choroby vulvy / Vulvar diseases

Černovská, Eliška January 2009 (has links)
The theme of my thesis Diseases of the vulva, I chose based on several years of his interest in gynecology and themes associated with that field. Although the vulva is a place that gynecologist for examination by viewing easy accessibility as one of the first, there is no diagnosis of disease in this area does not simple and requires interdisciplinary cooperation. vulva is not only the gateway to the internal genitals, but also a place where meet medical fields, especially gynecology, dermatology and pathology. View of dermatology and gynecology at some disease of the vulva was often different, as well as evaluation severity of disease classification and therapy. Simply words, the gynecologist is usually devoted to lesions that were considered to be precancerous or malignant nature attention to his dermatologist benign dermatózám. The these uncertainties, there were problems, how to evaluate some of the lesions in wider scale. Fortunately there was a unification of terminology when International Society for the Study of vulvar disease (ISSVD - International Society for the Study of vulvar Disease) uniform classification system published by some of the termsgoverning 1) . Interdisciplinary collaboration, a unified classification and availability "Evidence-based" information is, in my opinion, step in the...

Význam biomarkerů u erozivní osteoartrózy rukou / The role of biomarkers in erosive osteoarthritis of the hands

Lennerová, Tereza January 2016 (has links)
Hand osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease that causes pain, functional limitation and negatively affects the patients' quality of life. The most severe subtype of this disease is erosive OA. Erosive hand OA is characterized by an abrupt onset, inflammation and is linked to worse outcomes than non-erosive hand OA. Current methods do not allow early diagnosis or to distinguish between patients with different forms at disease onset. This could be changed by the utilization of biomarkers in clinical practice. Biomarkers are molecules released into circulation that reflect biological processes. The main goal of this study was to analyze the levels of circulating biomarkers with the aim to differentiate patients from healthy subjects and patients with erosive OA from patients with non-erosive disease. Serum concentrations of seven biomarkers and the expression of plasma microRNAs were determined. Patients with hand OA showed altered cartilage metabolism, increased levels of adiponectin, decreased levels of clusterin and a dysregulated expression of several microRNAs in comparison to the healthy population. Patients with erosive OA had lower levels of clusterin and decreased expression of miR-151-3p than those with the non-erosive form of the disease. These findings suggest the potential...

Vliv stylu držení volantu na dobu jízdního manévru / Influence of Steering Wheel Holding Techniques on Length of Driving Maneuver

Kašpar, David January 2021 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with the position of the hands on the steering wheel and its impact on the driving manoeuvre time. In the theoretical part, the correct sitting position of the driver, his seat and steering wheel settings were described. Furthermore, the analysis of the initial positions of the palms on the steering wheel was carried out as well as the positions that are recommended for quiet driving on the highway. These positions were analysed in terms of the ability to turn the steering wheel and to provide a range of turning in given positions. For the experimental measurements, a questionnaire for the passenger vehicle drivers was created. The responses were evaluated to construct the most common hand positions on the steering wheel. From the selected positions, test drives were conducted to determine the required time for manoeuvring or the time required for change of hand positions on the steering wheel to perform the manoeuvre.

Problematika informovanosti studentů bakalářských a magisterských oborů Výchovy ke zdraví na Jihočeské univerzitě v Českých Budějovicích o nozokomiálních infekcí / Issues of Students' Awareness of Bachelor and Master Fields of Health Education at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budejovice: Issue of Nosocomial Infections

VAVŘINOVÁ, Petra January 2016 (has links)
Thesis deals with ?the issue of awareness of nosocomial infections from undergraduate students of Bachelor and Master degree from Health education field at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budejovice.? This is very timely topic as nosocomial infections are a global economic and clinical problem not only for the present time but also for the future. Thesis is divided into two parts. Details of nosocomial infections, epidemic processes, agents of these infections, hand hygiene, prevention, health education, healthy lifestyle, immunity and support options for immune system are described in the theoretical part. The practical part describes the research problem, formulates hypothesis and shows statistical methods for research. The aim of this thesis was to find out the awareness of nosocomial infections from students of Bachelor and Master degree of VKZ at JU in the Czech Budejovice. Further I tried to compare this knowledge with respect to the age, education and field in which they act. I am trying to find out the possible way of prevention, personal protection against nosocomial infections moreover subjective perception of information related to this problem from respondents. I used the basic way of collecting data for achievement the given aim such as questionnaire in the aim group. There were used basic statistical methods suitable for analysis of categorical data. These results are illustrated in pie chart and bar chart for better interpretation. Test of the main hypothesis and working hypotheses are statistically made by 2 ? test. There was used Fisher factorial test in case there would be break prerequisite for correct usage of the previous test. The results of these tests are interpreted on the base of , with 95 % of reliability. I set this hypothesis in my thesis: ? Better knowledge will have students whose high school education was connected with the problems of health care. ? The result shows better knowledge for these students than for students from other high school however this difference was not statistically important. From all tests was found out that all students know the right definition of nosocomial infection however they have significantly less information related to the prevention against nosocomial infection. This thesis should give us food for thought about this problem and should change the attention to the health and the health of others and the possibility of further education.
