High-dimensional VAR analysis of regional house prices in United States / Analýza regionálních cen nemovitostí ve Spojených státech pomocí vysokodimenzionálního VAR modelu

Krčál, Adam January 2015 (has links)
In this thesis the heterogeneity of regional real estate prices in United States is investigated. A high dimensional VAR model with additional exogenous predictors, originally introduced by \cite{fan11}, is adopted. In this framework, the common factor in regional house prices dynamics is explained by exogenous predictors and the spatial dependencies are captured by lagged house prices in other regions. For the purpose of estimation and variable selection under high-dimensional setting the concept of Penalized Least Squares (PLS) with different penalty functions (e.g. LASSO penalty) is studied in detail and implemented. Moreover, clustering methods are employed to identify subsets of statistical regions with similar house prices dynamics. It is demonstrated that these clusters are well geographically defined and contribute to a better interpretation of the VAR model. Next, we make use of the LASSO variable selection property in order to construct the impulse response functions and to simulate the prices behavior when a shock occurs. And last but not least, one-period-ahead forecasts from VAR model are compared to those from the Diffusion Index Factor Model by \cite{stock02}, a commonly used model for forecasts.

Žena na trhu práce v situaci matky / Woman on The Labour Market in the Situation of the Mother

Matějková, Zdenka January 2015 (has links)
The target of this diploma thesis is to analyze the situation of Czech mother on the labour market. The theoretical part will be created from the accessible literary resources and public databases. By providing databases made into tables and charts of the most problematical influences which affect the situation of a woman on the Czech labour market. The practical part presents methodology of the diploma thesis. Then the typology of family policy in the chosen European countries is tested by means of cluster analysis. This section represents very important research part because the national family policy acts upon womans possibilities how to bring family and career into balance after finishing maternity and parental leave. Subsequently the questionairre Woman in the situation of mother on the labour market is spread into all regions of the Czech Republic and afterwards evaluated. On top of that that five hypothesis with different factors as a womans current income, education level and number of her children will be tested to deepen the issue of women chance on the Czech labour market.

Štatistická analýza sobášnosti, rozvodovosti a mimomanželskej plodnosti / Analysis of marriage rate, divorce rate and live births outside marriage

Birčáková, Barbora January 2014 (has links)
The main goal of the thesis is to analyze the basic indicators of marriage rate, divorce rate and the proportion of live births outside marriage. The first part is focused on the evaluation of the past and present development of the selected indicators. The thesis also includes a prediction of the future development of these indicators by using the Box-Jenkins methodology. The last part is dedicated to an international comparison of marriage, divorce and non-marital fertility indicators in the selected countries of the European Union. Moreover, the last part also includes a cluster analysis, where countries are divided into homogeneous groups according to the selected indicators.

Statistická analýza mzdových diferencí u profesionálních sportovců / Statistical Analysis of Wages Diffraction of Professional Athletes

Chytka, David January 2011 (has links)
This paper is using the method multidimensional analysis of data on a group of variables which are characterized by the performance of professional athletes. The meaning of this is to find the correct dimension of data for broader quantification. In the theoretical part of this paper I am describing the main goals and the principles of factor and cluster analysis. Furthermore in this part they are broken down the preconditions for the correct use of instruments of the mentioned analysis and they are presented models of each method. In the practical chapter, first there is a comparison of athletes from five professional leagues from the perspective of the wages differential analysis, then with the help of factor analyses a reduction of data is made and from the used data from the finale model a new variable is set. In the last part of this paper I am dividing the objects into groups as described in the cluster analyses with the purpose of further analyzing these clusters.

Systémy terciárního vzdělávání v zemích Evropské unie se zřetelem na jejich financování / Tertiary Educational Systems in the Eurepean Union

Chaloupková, Šárka January 2013 (has links)
The thesis deals with the comparison of the 27 European educational systems. The topic covers all main aspects of education funding system at higher education level and defines the impact of funding policy on educational standard. The following part of the thesis aims at key issues of tertiary education in other countries of the European Union. The topic focuses on the main policy goals of public funding, different forms of funding mechanisms, financial autonomy and control, the extent to which access to educational institutions is free, private contributions, the system of grants, scholarships, loans and other financial and social support for learners and their families. It is described their common features and their specifics. The thesis deals with the different approach of funding higher education in time of economic growth and recession. The last part of this thesis is devoted to grouping of states based on the defined information and other data of tertiary education and to determining the sequence of the states of the European Union by the standard of education.

Rozhodovací proces v Radě Evropské unie po rozšíření v roce 2004 - společná obchodní politika / Decision-making process in the Council of the European Union after the enlargement 2004 - common commercial policy

Grünvaldová, Tereza January 2009 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Decision-making process in the Council of the European Union after the enlargement 2004 - common commercial policy" deals with decision- making in the Council of the European Union and focuses in particular on the negotiations at a lower level. The common commercial policy is the target area mainly because of exclusive competences of the European Community. The aim of this thesis is the view of negotiations on the commercial agenda in the Council of the European Union and the coalition groups among Member States. A prerequisite for the analysis is the hypothesis, whether it is possible to derive from coalition groups at a lower level of decision-making the later coalitions in the Council of the European union. The analysis is based on reports of the Committee 133, the key body for the Council of the European Union in the common commercial policy in the period from January 2005 to December 2006. The data set was examined by the cluster analysis method.

Shluková analýza 100 českých firem na základě účetních výkazů / Cluster Analysis Czech 100 Companies on the Basis of Financial Statements

Langer, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis called Cluster Analysis Czech 100 Companies on the Basis of Financial Statements deals with the testing of two hypotheses using a multidimensional statistical method - cluster analysis. The input data for the application of statistical methods are financial statements of selected companies for the years 2014 and 2015 which are publicly available. These data are digitized and subjected to methods of financial analysis.

Analýza spokojenosti zákazníků a návrhy na zvýšení její úrovně / Customer Satisfaction and Proposals for Its Improvement

Šlosárková, Iveta January 2018 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with customer satisfaction issues of selected Thai restaurant in Brno. Using relevant methods are proposed appropriate measures to increase the current level of customers' satisfaction. Marketing research is used to do this, and it is conducted using a questionnaire survey. Based on the data capture, the data are being analysed and they provide input for evaluating and setting up suggestions to increase total customer satisfaction level.

Text mining se zaměřením na shlukovací a fuzzy shlukovací metody / Text mining focused on clustering and fuzzy clustering methods

Zubková, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
This thesis is focused on cluster analysis in the field of text mining and its application to real data. The aim of the thesis is to find suitable categories (clusters) in the transcribed calls recorded in the contact center of Česká pojišťovna a.s. by transferring these textual documents into the vector space using basic text mining methods and the implemented clustering algorithms. From the formal point of view, the thesis contains a description of preprocessing and representation of textual data, a description of several common clustering methods, cluster validation, and the application itself.
