Este estudio propone dos tratamientos fonoaudiológicos para la sialorrea (producción de saliva que el paciente percibe como excesiva) en la Enfermedad de Parkinson (EP), uno es la Terapia Conductivo Conductual (TCC), que consiste en la concientización del proceso deglutorio. En complemento a este tratamiento, se emplea la terapia de Estimulación Termo-Táctil (TET), que consiste en proveer estimulación sensorial mediante frío a los pilares faríngeos anteriores y a la cavidad oral. Con ello, la sensibilidad oral es aumentada. El objetivo de esta investigación es medir si existe una diferencia significativa entre tratar la sialorrea solo TCC versus esta misma junto a TET. La población investigada corresponde a personas con EP diagnosticada y sialorrea. Para la conformación de la muestra se seleccionaron 18 adultos chilenos. Los sujetos fueron divididos en dos grupos, uno tratado solo con TCC (A) y el otro con TCC más TET (B), por 5 semanas. Para establecer si existen diferencias significativas en la percepción de sialorrea antes y después del tratamiento en cada grupo, se utilizará la prueba paramétrica T-student para muestras relacionadas. Además, para determinar si existe una diferencia significativa entre la percepción de sialorrea lograda por cada tratamiento, se utilizará el Test de Mann-Withney. Estas pruebas demostraron que ambos tratamientos son efectivos para disminuir la percepción de sialorrea de los sujetos. Sin embargo no se evidencian diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre aplicar el tratamiento A o B. / This research proposes two phonoaudiological treatments for the Sialorrhea (salivation that the patient perceives as excessive) in Parkinson’s Disease (PD), the first is the Cognitive Conductual Therapy (CCT), that involves making the patient aware of the swallowing process. As a complement to this treatment, the Thermo-Tactile Stimulation (TTE) is used, involving the sensorial stimulation of the anterior pharyngeal pillars and oral cavity. With this, the oral sensitivity is increased. The target of this investigation is to measure whether there is a significative difference between treating with CCT against treating with it along with TTE. The surveyed population was people with diagnosed Parkinson’s Desease and Sialorrhea. For confirming the sample, 18 Chilean were selected. The subjects were divided in two groups, one treated only with CCT (A) and the other with CCT along with TTE (B), for 5 weeks. In the analysis, in order to establish whether there is a significative difference in the perception of Sialorrhea before or after the treatment in each group, the parametric T-student test will be used for related samples. Moreover, to determine if there is any difference between the perception of Sialorrhea achieved by each of the treatments, the Mann-Withney Test will be used. These tests will demonstrate how effective the treatment might be towards decreasing the perception of Sialorrhea in the subjects. Nevertheless, no statistically significative differences were shown neither using the treatment A, nor B.
