Two sections, Všeradice and Kosov, represent continuous sedimentary succession situated in the Prague Basin. No detailed research on stratigraphical level equal the N. kozlowskii graptolite zone focusing on chitinozoans, has not yet been conducted in the Prague Basin and is also very scarce globally. Limestone beds, examined for chitinozoans, were not very productive. Chitinozoan reaction on extinction is visible, if we compile data from both sections. The pre-extinct chitinozoan fauna is characterized by the Conochitinidae family. Samples from the post-extinct interval contained no chitinozoas. The interval of fauna recovery is characterized mainly by the Eisenackitina genera. In this interval, global zone for the uppermost Ludfordian, represented by E. barrandei, can be confirmed. In agreement with all the published literature, we have not found E. philipi, index taxa of the former global zone in the Prague Basin. E. lagenomorpha appears stratigraphically only slightly below E. barrandei and therefore it cannot substitute E. philipi, as it is used in Baltika region. chitinozoa, Prague Basin, Kozlowskii, Lau, extinction, Ludfordian, stratigraphy

Amoniti spodního a středního turonu české křídové pánve / Lower and Middle Turonian ammonites of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin

This thesis addresses the systematics and taxonomics of the ammonite assemblages of the Lower and Middle Turonian of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (BCB). It describes nineteen species of fifteen genera. Amongst others it concerns: Watinoceras coloradoense (Henderson), Spathites (Jeanrogericeras) reveliereanum (Courtiller), Paramammites sp. cf. P. polymorphus (Perervinquière), and Lecointricecras carinatum (Kennedy et al.) from the BCB, which have been described for the very first time. Another important taxon that is described is Prionocyclus albinus (Fritsch), which has not been encountered in the BCB since the year 1872 when it was established as a holotype by A. Fritsch. This specimen is now deposited in the National Museum in Prague. Most of these significant taxa belong to the collection of Dr. J. Soukup. He collected the specimens in various locations near Žďánice u Kouřimi mainly in the first half of the 20th century. The locations no longer exist. Stratigraphically important zonal ammonites, primarily W. coloradoense and Fagesia catinus (Mantell), are a direct evidence of the presence of two ammonite zones in the lower Lower Turonian in this part of the BCB (the zones Watinoceras coloradoense/devonense and Fagesia catinus). This work is focused on systematic research of cephalopod jaws from the Late Cretaceous. Samples of 147 newly recorded nautiloid rhyncholites from the Bohemian Cretacoeus Basin and one new ammonite rhyncholite from Řepov village were systematically analyzed. The new collection of lower ammonite jaws (aptychi) consists of 32 specimens. Nautiloid rhyncholites from localities Turkaňk, Úpohlavy, and Dreisen were determined as Nautilorhynchus simplex. Conchorhynchs from locality Vinary u Vysokého Mýta belong to the species Conchorhynchus cretaceous, which is associated with the commonmost species Eutrephoceras sublaevigatum. Ammonite rhyncholite is left in the open nomenclature due to its uncertain systematic position and it is not assigned to any ammonite species. Records of aptychi from the locality of Úpohlavy and Pecínov represent mainly species of heteromorphic ammonites - baculitids (Baculites, Sciponoceras). The total diversity of species from both localities reaches 20 ammonite species. The two jaw morphotypes (2 species of aptychi) are reported from the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin for the first time herein. The study (MS, diploma thesis) is based on more than 1200 belemnite rostra set from the Lower Cretaceous sediments of locality Štramberk (N Moravia). Investigated rostra come from the collection of Dr. V. Houša, who collected them during the seventies to eighties of the last century, during intensive excavation of the Lower Cretaceous tectonic block named Š-12 "pocket". Belemnite rostra were determined at species and generic levels including 7 species and 18 genera. The majority of belemnite assemblage comes from the Lower Valanginian strata, however, also the Tithonian, Berriasian and Hauterivian taxa are present, what clearly documents the redeposition. The presence of mesohibilitids, known from the Barremian and younger deposits, still remains enigmatic. For better understanding of the redeposition proces, the alveolar infill formed by several generations of sediments, are investigated. Study of these sediments outlines the sedimentary development of the Baška elevation inside the Outer Carpathian system. Preliminary stable isotope data δ18 O and δ13 C received from belemnite rostra show different belemnite life-style during the ontogeny - i.e. juvenile bottom life style and adults inhabiting shallow/warmer waters. Sandstone bodies of the Lower and Middle Turonian well exposed in the northwestern part of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin represent deposits of the coarse-grained deltas. Aim of this paper is to interpret the architectures, stratigraphy and depositional regime of these bodies. The main architectural elements are clinoforms which show intermediate dip 4ř to 5ř of the delta slope and the direction of the progradation of the delta to the west-southwest. Correlation of the lithological profiles with the well - log data provided the stratigraphic classification of the outcrops in the studied area mostly to the genetic sequence TUR2. Correlations in one of the two stratigraphic cross - sections revealed the existence of the second delta body prograding into the basin from Most - Teplice Palaeohigh during TUR1. Detailed study of the sedimentary structures in the outcrops show high degree of reworking of foresets by tidal generated current. Two main directions of the paleocurrents results from the analysis - dominant current to the NW and subordinate current to the SE - SSE.

This diploma thesis presents a synthesis of fieldwork and well-log data of the Upper- Turonian sandstone bodies in the northwestern part of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin. There was no previous research based on method of the sequence stratigraphy and correlation well-logs. I made 13 measured sedimentological cross-sections that were correlated to stratigraphical cross section along depositional dip and strike. Structures of the Upper Turonian sandstones (genetic sequences TUR 5 - 7) are dominated by trough cross bedding that migrate on a slightly inclined delta slope (1 - 5ř). The main direction of paleocurrents is towards SE or E. The analysis of thicknesses of parasequences (for TUR 4 - TUR 7) gives trend of thinning parasequences through time. Increasing content of the potassium is evident within sequences TUR 4 to TUR 7. It is independent on the grain-size, but indicates rapid transport from the source area.

This thesis deals with the belemnite fauna from the Outer Western Carpathians Klippen, its systematic classification, stratigraphical and palaeogeographical evaluation. The palaeontological/palaeobiological approach, together with isotope analyses, including of carbon and oxygen stable isotopes and of strontium isotopes, enabled an integrated investigation of the palaeoecological conditions during the Jurassic/Cretaceous (J/K) boundary interval and the Early Cretaceous age. The Tethyan belemnites are not intensively studied in detail in the J/K interval, as they occur rather rarely in the sections, and/or sedimentary conditions were not suitable for their preservation. Therefore, belemnites are described only from a few sites in the Mediterranean Province. On the basis of recent research, the stratigraphic range of several species previously considered to be from the Tithonian age was extended to the earliest Cretaceous. By contrast, the Lower Cretaceous belemnites (since the late Berriasian) are more abundant. In the classical areas of the Tethyan Realm, it is possible to study the Lower Cretaceous belemnites in great detail and, according to their higher abundance, to determine an individual assemblage corresponding to stratigraphical intervals.
