An Appraisal Of Structural Glass Wall Systems With Emphasis On Spider Fitting Details

Buyukkilic, Salih Gokhan 01 January 2004 (has links) (PDF)
The technological and innovational developments in steel and glass industries has enabled designers to create completely transparent fa&ccedil / ades. Building fa&ccedil / ade articulations designed to attain maximum transparency, have thus been executed with the contribution of elegant steel supporting systems, having heavy load bearing capacities, by minimizing the dimensions of structural systems. The aim of this study was to define, analyze and evaluate the accumulated knowledge on structural glass wall systems in general, with particular emphasis on those that may be denoted as &amp / #8218 / spider&amp / #8482 / glass fitting elements for potential applications, to formulate a design guide for professional designers. Hence, the primary elements of the system / the support structure, glass, glass connection joints and the other secondary elements have been evaluated within the architectural context. In the second part of the study, glass connection fitting elements were examined. Additionally the products developed by the manufacturing firms and commonly used in various projects were evaluated. Thereafter, whole document, data, photos of the spider fittings were combined in a spider fitting selection table, prepared and created by the author, which describes the types of spider fittings in detail. Finally, technical adequacy, experience, level of organization and workmanship within the context of Turkey, to evaluate the level of knowledge, were studied. In this regard, the glass wall facade the Akman Condomunium Business Center-Medicorium building, constructed with local materials and local manufacturing companies, was examined and compared with the Boeing Headquarters building in USA, which was constructed with a similair glass wall facade system.

Études des propriétés mécaniques de matériaux métalliques en couches minces / Mechanical behaviour of metallic thin films

Fourcade, Thibaut 26 September 2013 (has links)
The thin films are used in a large number of industrial fields such as Micro- and Nano- Technology (MNT) or treatment of surfaces. They can be used either as layer structures, or to provide protection functions or functionalized surfaces. There are generally two types of thin layers deposited thin films and self-supporting thin layers. The objective of the work presented in this manuscript is to develop methods for mechanical characterization of elastic-plastic behavior of free-standing thin films and deposited. First, we present a microtensile test able to work on 750 nm thick layers and associated technical means. These tools allow to characterize the elastic-plastic properties and mechanical damage freestanding thin films. In a second step, we focus on the implementation of parametric identification methods associated with implementation of instrumented indentation testing in the context of characterizing the elastic-plastic behavior of the deposited thin film materials. The layers characterized in this study are multilayer NiCo In total thickness 22 microns and thin layers of aluminum produced from several procédées with thicknesses between 1 and 1.5 microns.

Návrh úpravy nosné konstrukce lisové části papírenského stroje / Design of modification of the supporting structure of the press part of the paper machine

Zborník, Radek January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals with a description and a strength analysis of selected parts of a modified supporting structure of a press part of a paper machine. The construction is designed to simplify a replacement of felt belts during a service shutdown of the machine. The first part of the thesis is devoted to a brief description of the paper machine with a more detailed focus on the press part. The next part of the thesis includes a project of adjustment to the original design of the supporting structure. The last part deals with a strength control of construction nodes of the adjusted project. A strength calculation is further divided into a calculation using the finite element method and an analytical calculation. Results of both previous calculation methods are compared at the end of the thesis.

Wellness centrum v Ostravě / Wellness centre in Ostrava

Hruboň, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
The Master’s Thesis deals with the design of a wellness centre and guesthouse in Ostrava. The building is in the shape of letter V with a cut corner. The wellness part consists of one and two above-ground floors and the guesthouse consists of three. The guesthouse has eleven accommodation units. Five of the units are equipped with balconies of reinforced concrete. All roof planes have a 15° slope, are non-walkable and covered by a shed roof. The supporting structure is longitudinal with cross reinforcing walls. The whole structure is made of ceramic bricks. The building does not have any basement and stands on base belts.

Truhlárna Slaný / Carpenter of Slaný

Cach, Ladislav January 2017 (has links)
The thesis theme is a carpentry production facility with the adjacent office building at Slané. The thesis deals about the proposal of the object with building and construction solutions of the building. The thesis includes a detialed solution of the exhaustion ventilation the technology part of the carpentry. In the office building there is a reception in the 1st floor and the exhibition spaces. The vertical communication in the building is solved by two-arm straight starcases, one in office building and the second in the annexe hall for the employes. The construction system of the hall is reinforced concrete prefabricated system with advanced prestressed girders. Office building is designed like a reinforced concrete monolithic frame. Buildings are divided by dilatation. The object is based on the footings which are connected to base thresholds. The rooftops of the objects are flat.

Dočasné zesilování silničních mostů / Temporary strengthening of road bridges

Suza, Dominik January 2018 (has links)
Bridge strengthening is frequently associated with costly, long-term reconstruction. In some cases the bridge load capacity is sufficient for standard traffic, but requirements for an extremely heavy vehicle can exceed the maximal bridge load capacity. These vehicles normally weigh hundreds of tons. Moreover, well-known bridge strengthening technologies are not efficient and economical for this special load case. This doctoral thesis presents a short-term bridge strengthening method using a temporary support structure for the assistance of the existing bridge carrying structure. Although this strengthening method is rather old, it is rarely known. Approaches from 1980, are still often used, rely on simplified principles and approximation models. This approximation causes restricted efficiency of the strengthening system and creates a mathematical model that is not necessarily safe. The introduced new short-term bridge strengthening theory is based on monitoring of real bridge structures and temporary support structures during the crossing of extremely heavy vehicles. A mathematical model, which represents behaviour of real structures suitable, is introduced. The major effects, which have the greatest influence on this strengthening method are discussed. Further more a safety hydraulic element invented at Brno University of Technology, which can be used with the strengthening system is shown. The application of this system ensures required boundary conditions and therefore it guarantees the proper usage of the strengthening system.
