A Comparative Study of Psychological Tests Used in Personnel Selection in Taiwan

Tuan, Mei-yu 07 September 2006 (has links)
Through varying personnel selection methods, corporations have obtained top minds that own the abilities to promote the companies¡¦ competitiveness. Among these methods, psychological tests, due to their characteristics of being objective, scientific and low-cost, have been adopted by more and more employers. This paper is to examine whether the content of these tests conforms to the standards for evaluating standardized tests. The examination is done by analyzing tests materials collected from human resource consulting companies and professional psychological test publishers. The data used in this research come mostly from the Internet. They are classified into three categories: General information, technical information, and practical evaluation. Among the three, the amount of practical evaluation information, which relates mainly to the quality of a test, is the least. My survey shows that personality tests are the major development tests of human resource consulting companies and professional psychological test publishers, and that human resource consulting companies have got the advantage of developing psychological tests.

The Study of Fused Fiber Coupler Package

Chen, Hua-Shan 06 July 2000 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to develop the optimum design of fiber coupler package. Three different kinds of fiber coupler packages are investigated to understand the results of the optical properties under the environmental tests. The environmental test includes the temperature cycling, water immerse, and impact test. The results of fiber coupler packages will be accepted if the measurements for the optical properties are within a small range change under the environmental tests. There are so many components in fiber coupler packages that it is difficult to identify the specific components which should responsible for the optical property changes under environmental test. Therefore, a metallographic analysis is used to understand the structure change of fiber coupler package under environmental test. In this work, the optimum design of fiber coupler package are (1) a ceramic substrate, (2) the epoxy which bonding fiber and substrate should mixed with silicon powder, (3) the silicone should fill the empty space of steel tube fully, and (4) a good protection between the fiber and steel tube.

The Study of Microstructure of PbSn and AuSn Solders in Aging Test for Laser Module Packaging

Denq, Horng-Jenq 27 June 2001 (has links)
The effect of joint strength of PbSn and AuSn solder in aging test for laser module packaging has been studied experimentally. The thermal conditions were aged at 150 ¢J for 1,4,9,16,25 and 36 days. It was found that the joint strength decreased as aging test time increased. The joint strength of PbSn solder with the gold coating on SUS304 substrate of 2 µm and 10 µm decreased about 17% and 28% after aging test, respectively. The joint strength of PbSn solder with the gold coating on SUS304 substrate of 2 µm and 10 µm decreased about 16% and 9% after aging test, respectively. we also presented the microstructure of the intermetallic compound ¡]IMC ¡^growth under aging test. Results showed that the thickness of the IMC increased after aging test. The growth thickness of the IMC from 1 to 36 days for the PbSn and AuSn solder were measured to be 5.26 to 34.37 and 0.48 to 1.64 µm, respectively. The joint strength decreased under aging test may be due to the crack and void defects increased within the solder. The crack and void defects in solder were observed by metallographic photos.

The validation of the Anger Implicit Association Test

Cuellar, Rafael 01 November 2005 (has links)
The present study investigated the Anger IAT as a valid measure of anger. In order to answer this question the relationship between the Anger IAT and traditional measures of anger, anxiety, and self esteem were examined for convergent and divergent validity. It was hypothesized that the Anger IAT measure would be moderately to highly correlated with the State Trait Anger Expression Inventory- 2 (STAXI-2), correlated less with the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and correlated least with the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Additionally, to demonstrate that the Anger IAT measure reduces a person??s ability to fake good, social desirability is hypothesized to have a moderating effect between the Anger IAT and the STAXI-2. A total of 60 subjects participated in this investigation, 42 of which were female and 18 were males. Furthermore, there were 20 Caucasian, 34 Hispanic, and 6 African American participants. It was found that the Anger IAT was correlated with several scales of the STAXI-2. The Anger IAT correlated less with the STAI and least with the RSES. Furthermore, it was found that the Anger IAT measure reduced the participant??s ability to fake good.

GUI test automation for Qt application

Wang, Lei January 2015 (has links)
GUI test automation is a popular and interesting subject in the testing industry. Many companies plan to start test automation projects in order to implement efficient, less expensive software testing. However, there are challenges for the testing team who lack experience performing GUI tests automation. Many GUI test automation projects have ended in failure due to mistakes made during the early stages of the project. The major work of this thesis is to find a solution to the challenges of establishing new test automation projects and determine an appropriate method to build GUI tests automation. Due to the particularity of GUI tests automation, keyword driven test approach is introduced in this thesis. The advantages and disadvantages are shown by undertaking comparison with the Record and replay testing method and the data driven testing method. The research also includes a feasibility study of GUI tests automation. The analysis report points out which kinds of test projects should be automated and which kinds should not be automated. Test automation tool selection is a critical step for an test automation project. This thesis shows the correct procedure for selecting a testing tool and explains the strategies of testing tool selection. It also summaries the mistakes made during the tool selection process. Several classical types of testing tools which support Qt software testing are compared and evaluated. Based on the in-depth analysis and comparison of testing tools, the thesis explains how the different tools fit with the different test projects. The implementation procedure of a test automation is demonstrated in this thesis. The procedure includes test case design and testing framework implementation. The test script is created based on the structure of a keyword driven test framework. The thesis also discusses several interesting topics related to GUI tests automation for future research.

Software test automation : a design and tool selection approach for a heterogeneous environment

Azrai, Iyad Shaher 23 April 2013 (has links)
This report describes a design approach for implementing a software test automation solution that can accommodate existing test processes in an organization. The process of implementing a software test automation solution is a large undertaking and requires careful planning to avoid unsuccessful implementations. This report outlines a design that can integrate with existing business and development processes in an organization, and recommends automation and development frameworks for achieving the test automation goals. Considerations for a heterogeneous test environment with varying types of supported operating systems, such as Windows and Linux, and multiple test execution environments, such as Java and .NET, have been made in this design and in the tool selections for the system implementation. The report also describes some of the challenges and caveats of automation in a heterogeneous environment along with recommended solutions to these challenges. / text

Assessing the effect of reservoir heterogeneity on CO₂ plume migration using pressure transient analysis

Punase, Aarti Dinesh 24 April 2013 (has links)
The ultimate success of carbon capture and storage project will be ensured only when there is a safe and effective permanent storage of CO₂ for a significant amount of time without any leakages. Credible monitoring and verification is one of the most important aspects of CO₂ sequestration. Accurate reservoir characterization is an important pre-requisite for the design, operation and economic success of processes like CO₂ sequestration. The techniques available include geophysical and geochemical monitoring as well as numerical simulations using models replicating the field. In conducting the numerical simulations, it is required to assess the reservoir heterogeneity correctly. Previous work has shown that the injection data from wells can be utilized for developing models during CO₂ sequestration to understand the spatial distribution of heterogeneities in the formation. In this research, we first understand and examine the information contained in the injection data for a wide range of reservoir models demonstrating different kinds of heterogeneities and rate fluctuations. We will confirm that the reservoir heterogeneities have an imprint on the injection pressure response and they influence CO₂ plume migration significantly. Later we show that the effect of high or low permeability features along with rate fluctuations can provide considerable information about permeability heterogeneity in the reservoir. The applicability of this observation is made using field data from In-Salah gas field from central Algeria. Thus we demonstrate the feasibility of developing an inexpensive method of modeling reservoir heterogeneity by employing readily available measurements of injection pressure and rate to track CO₂ migration. Later we describe method to find out what characteristics of the reservoir heterogeneities can be quantified using injection data (pressure and rate). The injection pressure response during CO₂ sequestration will depend strongly on reservoir, fluid and well properties. A 3-D analytical model with infinite acting boundary is developed in CMG-GEM. Compositional reservoir simulation results from CMG-GEM simulator will be obtained and combined with pressure transient analysis and optimization algorithm for the prediction of reservoir parameters. In case of multiple injection wells in a heterogeneous formation, the analysis yield spatial variations in reservoir parameter groups like transmissibility (kh), permeability to porosity ratio ([kappa]/[phi]) in different part of the reservoir. These parameter groups can subsequently be used to constrain models of reservoir thickness, permeability and porosity. Thus, we imply that multiple reservoir attributes affect migration of CO₂ plume and there is uncertainty associated with the estimation of these attributes. We present an approach to resolve some of that uncertainty using information extracted from injection well response. / text
