This thesis study is developed under the lights of new developments related to rural tourism sector in the world. With the effects of emerging term &lsquo / sustainability&rsquo / in 1980s, sustainable tourism concept has found new implementation areas. The increasing demand on the tourism activities taking place in rural areas has lead the governments to find ways of benefiting from this tendency in a sustainable way.
Since the early 1990s, a new type of rural tourism called as agri-tourism has been developed as a concept that integrates agriculture and tourism activities in the western world. Whether it is evaluated as a tourism or agriculture development element, it is a new element of country planning. Nowadays, it is seen that there is also a new tendency for agri-tourism at local level through local initiatives in Turkey. Although there is still no governmental regulation for agri-tourism activities, political and practical developments demonstrate that the sector should be evaluated as a planning element for Turkey.
The main purpose of this study is examining the rural development element characteristic of agri-tourism concept as an element for enhancing the rural tourism activities in Turkey. To achieve the purpose, two examples from EU- Lublin and Tuscany Regions were examined to understand the dynamics of agri-tourism as a planning element. For these study interpretative-comparative-textual method is used. Accordingly, the present condition in Turkey is evaluated through the obtained data and SWOT Analysis method was employed for analyzing the data. Accordingly, some suggestions are presented for developing agri-tourism sector in Turkey.

Heritage Tourism The Way Out For Rural Poor? A Case Study Of The Tourism-Poverty Nexus In Anse La Raye, St. LuciaJn Baptiste, Ricky 05 August 2013 (has links)
Tourism has emerged as one of the most dynamic sectors in many countries; as one outcome, it has generated widespread hope that this particular industry can bring prosperity to numerous developing nations. Conversely, there is substantial suspicion of its capacity to bring equitable benefits to the poor. A recent proposition is to strengthen the tourism-poverty nexus by placing tourism at the heart of poverty reduction strategies. This thesis explores the application of this new and relatively untested approach. It does so by conducting a case study of the impact of heritage tourism, a community-based and poverty-focused tourism initiative, implemented in Anse La Raye, the most impoverished rural community in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
Obviously a single case study cannot justify sweeping generalizations, but it can perhaps serve at least to raise a number of useful policy questions that might also have some broader application.The findings reveal that poverty-focused tourism development initiatives can positively impact the lives of the rural poor, under certain circumstances. Some observable effects included the creation of useful community infrastructure, linkages of direct and indirect employment benefits and consequent income generation. Notwithstanding these successes, this limited research piece suggests that, despite their nearly exclusive and commendable focus on the livelihood of the poor, pro-poor approaches to tourism also have limitations [for example, seasonal and part-time employment, and leakages] and certainly cannot be regarded as a panacea for reducing poverty in any poverty stricken region. Nonetheless, it is believed that St. Lucia, at least, can learn from the experiences of Anse La Raye as it further refines its tourism development policies in quest of further development targets.

<p> Еногастрономски туризам има велики значај као селективни подсистем укупног<br />туризма. Његов посебан значај је у остваривању осталих привредних делатности, где се истичу пољопривреда, прерађивачка индустрија, занатство, трговина, саобраћај, комуналне делатности и итд.</p><p> Овај рад је усмерен на еногастрономски туризам Шумадије . Истраживање користи квалитативне и квантитативне методе да би пружило што бројније и поузданије податке о еногастрономском туризму Шумадије. Резултати истраживања, треба да дају бројне одговоре, како и на који начин побољшати квалитет услуге и тиме изаћи што више у сусрет туристима, како задовољити њихове жеље и потребе, пронаћи адекватну стратегију за развој винског туризма и подићи ниво свести о еногастрономској култури дестинације, путем часописа, брошура, едукације кадрова, курсева, семинара, екскурзија до винарија.Иако еногастрономски туризам последњих година добија све више на значају, на основу статистичких показатеља може се закључити да још увек није постигнуто адекватно унапређење квалитета еногастрономског производа, у циљу задовољавања како потреба потрошача, тако и пружању услуга.</p><p> Данас, у појединим областима туризам хране и вина је веома добро развијен , док у другима и даље заузима мало тржиште и привлачи мањи број као домаћих тако и иностраних туриста. С тим у вези, јавила се потреба оваквог вида истраживања, а све у циљу побољшања квалитета винско-туристичких дестинација Шумадије. Како би еногастрономски туризам заживео и био један од пририотета Србије, неопходно је открити слабе тачке туристичког развоја и радити на њиховом побољшању, па је оваква врста истраживања веома корисна. Циљ рада је да укаже на значај утицаја развоја еногастрономских активности на ставове туриста о винским подрумима Шумадије, где је овај вид туризма и присутан.</p> / <p> Enogastronomski turizam ima veliki značaj kao selektivni podsistem ukupnog<br />turizma. Its special importance lies in the accomplishment of other economic activities, including agriculture, manufacturing industry, handcraft, trade, traffic, communal activities, etc.</p><p> This paper aims at enogastronomic tourists in Šumadija. Our research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to provide numerous and reliable data on enogastronomic tourism in Šumadija. The results of our research should give answers to how to improve the quality of service and therefore satisfy tourists' wishes and needs and find out an adequate strategy for the development of wine tourism as well as to raise consciousness about enogastronomic culture of the destination through magazines, brochures, staff education, training courses, seminars,excursions to winaries. Although enogastronomic tourism has been gaining much significance during the last years, statistical indicators show that there has been no adequate improvement in the enogastronomic products' quality regarding not only satisfying consumers' needs but upgrading services as well.</p><p>Today food and wine tourism is well developed in certain areas on one side; on the other side this kind of tourism occupies very small-scale market attracting small number of both domestic and foreign tourists.Therefore the need for this kind of research has emerged with an aim to improve the quality of wine tourism destinations in Šumadija. In order for enogastronomic tourism to come to life and become one of Serbia's priorities, the drawbacks of tourism development should be identified and an effort to lessen those drawbacks should be made. In that respect this research could be quite useful.</p>
