Reducción del desplazamiento relativo de la base en estructuras con aisladores sismicos mediante el concepto de transmisibilidad relativa / Base displacement demand reduction in seismically isolated structures through the concept of relative transmissibility

Soto Delgado, Gerardo Brayan, Vente Silva, Rodrigo Alberto 05 February 2021 (has links)
A design method is developed using the relative transmissibility concept to solve the problem of large base displacement (displacement demand) in isolated structures under the action of earthquakes. The procedure is developed in the frequency domain, this to obtain the stiffness and damping of the isolation system. Subsequently, a multiple degree of freedom benchmark structure model is used, excited by a real seismic input signals for the evaluation of the design procedure, the proposal is a purely passive control. The results show the effectiveness of this methodology, due to the fact that base displacement obtained with a purely passive control system are very close to displacement achieved with the use of active control systems that are more complex and expensive. / Tesis

Mejoramiento de la reducción del desplazamiento de la base en estructuras aisladas tomando en cuenta el periodo creciente en los últimos 20 años utilizando el concepto de transmisibilidad / Improvement of base motion reduction in isolated structures considering the increased period in the last 20 years using transmissibility concept

Lazaro Bardales, Carlos Fernando, Mendez Neciosup, Daniel Fernando 23 December 2020 (has links)
In this research, a new design methodology based on the concept of transmissibility is proposed for the reduction of the absolute displacement in the isolated base of a structure. An increase in the design period in the last years favors the proposed method based on the transmissibility concept. A 10-story building is proposed for this research. The results show a considerable reduction in the displacement of the isolated base when it is subjected to earthquakes of great magnitude / Trabajo de investigación

Test method for torque transmissibility in high-speed electric machines

Ebermann, Marko, Hasse, Alexander 28 November 2023 (has links)
As part of the FVA research project 965 I with the topic 'Elastic-plastic design of the press connection between rotor shaft and laminated core of high-speed electric machines to increase power density', the shaft-hub connection (WNV) is being investigated in accordance with the topic. The elastically/plastically joined WNV is intended to prevent slippage of the laminated core even at high speeds (centrifugal speed up to 22,000 rpm) and torque loads up to 3000 Nm. The background to this is the widening of the plate pack, which inevitably leads to a reduction in the joint pressure. The joint of the WNV is composed of three tribological partners. On the one hand, it is the shaft made of 18CrNiMo7-6, and on the other hand, it is the NO20-13 type electrical steel sheet with the baked enamel, which initially makes the tribological system difficult to describe. Many factors, such as the type of sheet cut (stamped or lasered), have an influence on the static friction coefficient in the joint and thus on the torque transmission. In order to better estimate and test the actual load capacity of the joint, this paper describes how the static friction coefficient is determined experimentally at the Institute of Construction and Drive Technology (IKAT) using various devices. On the other hand, a high-speed test rig is presented, which should enable tests close to real components. In particular, the increased requirements on the test rig components with regard to dynamic balancing and centrifugal forces as well as their design solutions are presented.:Introduction Friction coefficent between shaft and hub - model experiments Static experiments Dynamic experiments under high speed / Im Rahmen des FVA-Forschungsprojektes 965 I mit dem Thema 'Elastisch-plastische Auslegung der Pressverbindung zwischen Rotorwelle und Blechpaket von hochdrehenden E-Maschinen zur Steigerung der Leistungsdichte' wird die Welle-Nabe-Verbindung (WNV) gemäß dem Thema untersucht.

Novo método simplificado para avaliação da potencialidade de ocorrência de hidrocarbonetos em arenitos / New Simplified Approach for the Evaluation of Hydrocarbon Potentials in Sandstone Reservoirs

Abraham-Adejumo, Richardson Monday 04 December 2018 (has links)
The aim of this research is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential using a simplified approach in the sandstone reservoirs of the fields within the two case studies. It includes the modification of some traditional equations for the relevant parameters to help provide alternative expressions to aid the prediction of the reservoirs flow (hydraulic) units, transmissibility and primary recovery in Ritchies Oil Block and Osland Oil and Gas Field. It also involves the estimation of the recoverable volumes of hydrocarbons with the associated water cuts (Cw), and the use of correct time/depth correlations and enhanced velocity analysis for petrophysics and seismic interpretations involving the recommendation of the points for siting developmental wells in Osland Oil and Gas Field. Overall, four traditional equations of permeability (Tixiers, Timurs, Coates and Coates and Denoos) were modified for the comparative analysis and prediction of the selected reservoirs transmissibility and primary hydrocarbon recovery. Similarly, the Schlumbergers equation for the free fluid index (FFI), the Tiab, and Donaldsons equations for Flow zone indicator (FZI) and reservoir quality index (RQI) were redefined and engaged to aid the flow units evaluations. In addition, the Schlumbergers equations for fluids relative permeability were also modified and engaged for the prediction of the associated Cw. The results indicate reservoirs with good flow units and rates of recoveries. The volumes of Cw in the evaluated reservoirs are within the acceptable rates and other probable depths and drainage areas were recommended. Well to seismic tie (W-ST) aided to reduce the doubt regarding pay thickness (Pt) and drainages area (Ad). Models, in form of equations and handy charts, were suggested for the evaluation of reservoirs within sandstone units. The drudgery in the use of tradition equations was bypassed. The computational errors that may come with the calculation of a range of equations before flow units are evaluated were avoided. The methods adopted herein are believed to have minimised risk and uncertainty that comes with the flow unit evaluations and volumes estimations. It is supported herein that a geologist upskilled in geophysics or a geophysicist unskilled in geology should always be engaged in seismic and petrophysical interpretations. This will also contribute to risk and uncertainty reduction.
