Právní aspekty změny pohlaví / Legal aspects of gender reassignment

Dočekalová, Hana January 2020 (has links)
Legal aspects of gender reassignment Abstract Thesis deals with legal aspects of gender reassignment, especially with legal conditions of gender reassignment witch are required by the Czech law. Furthermore, the thesis provides a general introduction to the issue of transsexuality, deals with the etiology of transsexuality, and defines its two fundamental types, namely the MtF and the FtM transsexuality. This thesis also recalls the position of transgender people in society, as transgender people continuously face various forms of discrimination. In particular, the text of the thesis is focused on the legal analysis of the issue of gender reassignment. The thesis deals with all legal regulations that contain provisions concerning gender reassignment. In this manner, it deals with all relevant legal provisions included in the Czech Civil Code, in the Act on Specific Health Services, and in the Registry Act. The thesis also deals with the possible future legal regulation of gender reassignment using the de lege ferenda considerations. This bill could adapt the Czech legal regulation of gender reassignment to the case-law of The European Court of Human Rights as well as the legal standarts in other european countries. In the thesis, there is also the whole process of gender reassignment including both the...

Identita transgendera / Transgender identity

Kováriková, Juliána January 2013 (has links)
The main purpose of the present diploma thesis is to introduce the transgender identity as a newly emerging lifestyle and political activism of transpeople. Because the transgenderism has been formed in opposition to the dominant medical discourse of transsexuality, it is necessary to include the transsexual stand of view which transgender people are defining against. I regard the transsexuality and transgenderism as two different discourses forming new different identity categories, having specific impact on lives of people they are naming. I focus mainly on the impact of different concepts of sex, gender and sexuality on formation of specific shapes of these ideologies. In the empirical part, I am applying my mind on the narrative construction of transgender identity. Through some parts of interview with a person diagnosed with transsexuality, that has accepted the identity of a transgender in the course of his life, I try to mediate a more realistic and sculpturesque image of transgender/transsexual life, identity and sense of self.

Psychologické aspekty přeměny genderové role u trans-lidí v českém kontextu / Psychological aspects of the transformation of gender role of transgenders in Czech context

Čechová, Helena January 2014 (has links)
The thesis presents the processes of gender role transition and sex reassignment from the perspectives of psychology, medicine, and sociology. Its main focus is on the various aspects influencing the psyche of a person undertaking transition. The thesis investigates why trans identity is commonly viewed as a pathology and the impact of pathologization on the self-perception of trans people. Furthemore, the traditional outline of the transition process in Czech sexology is compared to some current international approaches. A section of the text addresses psychotherapy as a key factor in transition. A significant component of the thesis is that it takes a sociocultural viewpoint on gender identity and gender roles. One of the goals is to understand how medical experts dealing with trans identity conceptualize transition and how trans people themselves conceptualize it. The overall aim is to investigate how both of these sides influence each other and what psychological aspects enter the processes of gender role transition and sex reassignment. Key words: transsexuality, transgender, sex reassignment, gender identity, gender role.

Trans naratív / Trans narrative

Machajová, Dana January 2013 (has links)
In my thesis I compare various trans* representations in fiction films, documentary films, TV series and video journals on the internet. I assume, that projections of trans* people differ in stories they tell, depending on media in which they are constructed. Most of the visible trans* stories in media are "being reborn to the right body testimonies (in opposition to the wrong body given at birth)". This is connected to the legislative rules one must follow if he/she wants to have his/her gender reassigned. Trans* activists in global context take steps closer to legislative changes that lead to bigger tolerance and freedom of gender expression. In analysis of characters of seven fiction films, three TV series, four documentaries, one reality show and work of three trans* video bloggers, I demonstrate, that the representation of trans* identities in mainstream media space is reductive and works within strict rules. These rules relate to pathological default setting of the trans* status. On the other hand, the more authentic the material is, the wider variety of stories we see..

Možné změny v partnerských preferencích transsexuálů female-to-male v průběhu procesu přeměny pohlaví / Possible changes in partner preferences of female-to-male transsexuals during the sex change process

Málková, Markéta January 2014 (has links)
The main topic of this thesis is investigation of partner preferences and sexual behavior of female-to-male transsexuals. Number of previous studies showed that on average several partner preferences differ between men and women, and our goal was to determine if these preferences vary in female-to-male transsexuals during the process of sex change. The process of sex change includes intensive exposures to external levels of sex hormones, psychological therapy, and the transformation of their social role and overall life changes. Based on reviewe of the the scientific literature dealing with transsexuality, partner preferences and the potential impact of hormone therapy on sexually dimorphic traits, we developed a questionnaire focusing on partner preference and behavior. We obtained data from 36 heterosexual men transsexual female -to -male (i.e., sexual orientation focused on women) who were divided into three groups according to whether they were prior hormonal therapy (N = 11), whether have already started hormone therapy sex but not yet surgical change ( N = 11) and whether they were already after hormonal and surgical gender conversion (N = 14). In addition, we obtained data from 16 heterosexual non-transsexual men as a control group. Based on my previous bachelor research and literature...

Nezávislá analýza systematického znevýhodňování transgender lidí v České republice / Systems of Transgender Oppression in the Czech Republic: An Independent Analysis

Lorenzů, Alex January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the normative discourse of transsexuality, both from a general cultural- historical perspective in the context of Western science and medicine and more specifically in the context of Czech sexology. On a detailed analysis of the publication Transsexualita: Diagnostika a léčba (Transsexuality: Diagnostics and Treatment), I illustrate the currently dominant conceptualization of transgender and/or transsexuality as a disorder, which, due to its normative influence, predetermines not only the possibilities of (self)identification available to trans* people in the Czech Republic, but also their treatment by Czech society and state institutions (e.g. in the conditions to be met for legal gender recognition, which still include compulsory sterilization). Methodologically, the thesis is chiefly grounded in discourse analysis, but it also shows an ethical standpoint in relation to the situation of Czech trans* people in the legal and medical systems. I also consider the factual dimension of transgender status and other expressions of gender diversity, primarily in maintaining a critical distance from the notions of their alleged pathology, still widespread in the normative sexological discourse. Keywords Biology, discourse, ethics, human rights, intersex, normativity, pathologization,...
