TITLE: The current risk management at secondary vocational schools - effect of the decline of students in secondary vocational schools and vocational schools in Prague. AUTHOR: Bc. Pavel Tuška DEPARTMENT: The Centre of the educational management SUPERVISOR: RNDr. Jana Marková ABSTRACT: The prosperity of every secondary vocational school and vocational school is primarily based on the demand for their service which also depends on the behaviour of the school in times of crisis. The rapid demographic decline of students entering secondary education nowadays significantly affects operation of all secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Prague secondary vocational schools and vocational schools have to deal with the massive loss of interest in studying these schools. The aim of this master's paper is therefore an effort to characterize the potential impacts of the crisis on these education organizations. At the same times it tries to outline possible activities to reduce the risk of vocational schools in Prague business failure. Each Prague secondary vocational school or vocational school, however, is an organization totally unique, and therefore it must always be based also on the specific conditions applicable to the school. This diploma thesis contains two main themes in the education of students in secondary vocational schools. The first topic are equations that form basis of the study in the field of mathematics and their understanding is therefore needed for successful completion of studies. The secondary issue is financial mathematics which gives pupils the basic knowledge in this field and defines key terms. Each successful graduate is therefore familiar with concepts that will meet every day.

The subject of this thesis is the conversion and extension of the former School of Industrial High School in Rousínov furniture and expansion of housing for the elderly. School buildings were built in the 70s of the 20th century and today are only partially and temporarily used, and are waiting for its rebirth. The aim of the project is to open the area to people and incorporate it into the daily life of citizens Rousínov. Cinema, restaurants, galleries, clubs and housing - it's all part of the new city center. Already incurred background builds housing for the elderly, which is its location in the heart of a quality place for the next stage of life. By activating these functions is an isolated island in the city center becomes a full-fledged part of the public space Rousínov. The first stage is the conversion of schools to the cultural and community center. Slogan conversion is cleansing. Clean up objects from unnecessary structures and layers of history. Show support structure and inject new energy into the buildings. The construction itself enables spatial play of vertical and horizontal surfaces. Space clubrooms and galleries are open to the second floor, housing units are designed as maisonettes. Everything is simple and functional. It remains only the pace of life, which objects to bring residents Rousínov. As a next stage will be created in the area of housing for seniors. Demand for housing for the elderly is still high and it's no different in Rousínov and surroundings. In the House of care service that is not on the edge and the capacity is insufficient. Therefore, the potential use of school premises in the town center is a suitable solution for senior housing. The proposal does not find one universal solution for all, but aims to promote the uniqueness and future residents based on their individual needs. Therefore, there is no one big complex retirement home, but three different objects according to the degree of autonomy of the population.

The thesis focuses on the issue of civic attitudes adopted by students of vocational schools. The author presents an overview of previous Czech research which shows that students of vocational schools are placed at the bottom of international surveys inquiring civic and political knowledge. Moreover, the results reveal that the students of vocational schools express their support for democracy as a way of government the least. The goal of the thesis is to describe civic and political opinions of concrete students and show who influences them and how. It is designed as a multiple case study. Six students of vocational schools from Prague, a smaller town and a village in Central Bohemian Region were chosen to participate in the study. The core of the work is the description of the individual cases in a detailed context including their family, community, school and friends. The findings indicate that the studied students are usually not interested in politics. Their political beliefs are heavily formed by their family and peers. School as an institution does not have any influence, not even through civic education which is compulsory during the first years of high school education. Diploma thesis acquants reader about decision problems at Střední odborné škola informatika a spojů a Střední odborné učiliště Kolín. Chosen problem are desribed and analysed, but also variants of solution are created, so tehy can be used as an support to decision making for school manager. These problems are about getting new students, usage of unused rooms of dorm and school cafeteria. For creating variant of solutions Cobb-Douglas utility function is used, moreover the thesis teaches reader how to work with it, so a manager of school can use it for his own decision making proces. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of education of the prisoners serving their term in the Vinařice prison. The theoretical part focuses on a brief introduction into the issue of imprisonment in the Czech Republic and penitentiary education in relation to the education of prisoners. It describes the educational and employment possibilities for those serving their term, where it presents current possibilities of education and employment of prisoners and their chances on the job market. The thesis then focuses on the description of the Vinařice prison, their work with prisoners, the sections for prisoners inside the prison and their educational and employment possibilities for prisoners. Following this the thesis describes the activity of the vocational school that operates in the Vinařice prison. It talks in detail about the specifics of education in this school, the school's educational programs, the characteristics of the students and the current employment rate of the graduates from the programs in category E. This diploma thesis deals with the issues related to the quality management system in the field of secondary education, specifically in relation to the provision of education with an apprenticeship certificate. The quality management system is mostly associated with the private sector as a production process. However, the quality of services is as important as the quality of products. Quality management has also been known to the public sector for several years. Also state administration organizations, local authorities, universities, etc. deal with the quality management system. Secondary schools should certainly not be excluded from this sphere, as it is a necessary part of the school education system. The quality of the education provided, its course and results should undoubtedly be systematically managed. The first part of the thesis contains the definition of basic concepts focused on education and the school education system, defining quality, quality management methods (ISO, TQM, EFQM, CAF) and the principles of quality management in education. This diploma thesis is focused on pupils' motivation to learning in ICT at vocational secondary schools and colleges. The main educational goal of ICT as a subject is to develop pupils' ICT literacy. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with motivation as a pedagogical concept and appropriate teaching approaches to it. An analysis of ICT subjects in the curriculum of the Framework Education Programmes for vocational secondary schools and colleges contributes to form an integral part of the theoretical base. The empirical part is divided into three mini-surveys carried out at a vocational secondary school and training institution in Liberec. The first was a questionnaire for pupils to discover what motivates them to study ICT. The second was a questionnaire for teachers which aimed to find out if and how teachers apply and exploit pupils' ICT literacy in their teaching of vocational ICT as a specialist subject. The third element was interviews with ICT teachers with the aim of investigating how ICT teachers understand the role of ICT as a subject and how they develop their pupils' ICT literacy. The purpose of this diploma work is to evaluate the work of teaching assistants in supporting the study of convicts with disabilities in the Vocational School in Vinařice Prison. The partial aim of this diploma work is to determine whether the teaching assistants are providing enough support to pupils with disabilities in the level of support that will lead to better learning results and also would enable students to succeed at the open labor market. Diploma work will be divided into the theoretical part and the practical part. The practical part will be elaborated by quantitative and qualitative research methods. Quantitative research will be conducted through a questionnaire, which will be focused on support which is provided by teaching assistants while working with students with disabilities and then on the perception on teaching assistants support that is provided to students with disabilities. Qualitative research will include case studies of pupils - convicts with disabilities in the Vocational School Vinařice.
