RING! - Dostavba městského okruhu v Brně / RING! - Completion of the Ring Road in Brno

Líšková, Marianna January 2013 (has links)
Area of interest is located next to the ring road of Brno and between Koliště, Cejl, Vlhká and Křenová streets. Main prerequisites for the design were moving of the railway station to the „Južné centrum“ and at the same time keeping the original path of the viaduct running through the area. This allows to change the function and create a pedestrian and cycling path . It was necessary to create a new profile of the ring road, 30 m wide, and keep the character of the street by using adequate scale to the buildings. According to these conditions, office buildings from 6 to 8 storeys high with comercial use in the ground floor were designed to increase the atractivness of the promenade. The block of office buildings is integrated with a Visual arts centre, which is located at the connection of viaduct and the ring road and closes the block structure. Mass of the object decreases from the ring road to create a system of terraces available from interior, and public spaces available from the ground level and viaduct. Creating a public space on viaduct allowes us to connect the building with it. Decreasing of the mass and two level public spaces divides the object to two wings. The first wing includes the Visual arts center itself, with its exhibiton spaces, library and management and the other wing hosts offices and studios for young artists.

Tři učebnice estetiky (Hugh Blair, Johann Joachim Eschenburg a Johann August Eberhard). / Three textbooks of aesthetics (Hugh Blair, Johann Joachim Eschenburg and Johann August Eberhard).

Martinková, Zuzana January 2018 (has links)
The thesis examines three enlightenment textbooks of literary arts of that period, which were all published in 1783 and significantly contributed to dissemination of aesthetic ideas. Its primary aim is to determine how aesthetics, as a separate philosophical discipline, entered into these three selected textbooks of literary arts of that period, and in what ways it has influenced their interpretation. It raises a question of how the presence or absence of aesthetics influenced the concept of these texts not only as a whole, but also in developing specific theories, themes and ideas that are further compared in this thesis. It analyses the main sections of the textbooks and introduces their basic structure and specific opinions, which are then critically evaluated. The aim of the thesis is to examine the character of the interpretations and grasp the theories of particular kinds of arts depending on whether they were performed within or outside the framework of aesthetics. The presented thesis should contribute to a better understanding of the differences and similarities between German and Scottish reflections of aesthetic questions at the end of 18th century based on these three examples of textbooks.

Klastrová definice umění Denise Duttona / Denis Dutton's cluster definition of art

Kyjacová, Natália January 2022 (has links)
The thesis focuses on Denis Dutton's cluster definition of art, its critique and possible defence in the context of evolutionary aesthetics. The main theme that accompanies the thesis is the connection between the evolutionary origins of art and its definition today. After an introductory presentation of evolutionary aesthetics' approaches to the search for the origin and definition of art, the central section is devoted to Dutton's cluster theory. This is presented from two perspectives - against the background of his understanding of the Darwinian-inspired concept of art, that is, based on natural and sexual selection, and against the background of Berys Gaut's original cluster theory. Dutton's theory has faced criticisms of the normative universalism that his evolutionary theory has the potential to set up, the subjectivity regarding antipathy to modern art, and the over-openness of the cluster. The thesis will attempt to evaluate the critique and to clarify whether Dutton succeeds in advocating a link between the origins of art and its modern definition. Keywords: Denis Dutton, evolutionary aesthetics, darwinism, adaptation, cluster theory, definition of art.

Art Spectator and his/her Reflection in Theory and Artistic practice in Czechoslovakia in 1950s and 1960s

Mazalanová, Eliška January 2019 (has links)
Názov práce: Art Spectator and his/her Reflection in Theory and Artistic practice in Czechoslovakia in 1950s and 1960s PhD Candidate: Eliška Mazalanová Department of Arthistory Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Marie Rakušanová, PhD. 2019 The dissertation thesis aims to analyze the issue of the viewer or the audience of Czechoslovak visual arts of the 1950s and 1960s. It focuses on the period when a directive method of political and social engagement of art in the form of socialist realism has been applied and on the subsequnet period when the Czechoslovak art scene has been re- establishing its previous developments. The thesis focuses primarily on the latter period, in which new trends in the visual arts were adopted and authentically developed. Their specificity lies in the increased interest in the art spectator, also characterized by a changed relationship of art and its audience, which I also call as a turn to the spectator. The thesis is interested in the historical frameworks and characteristics of the social function of art, in the various forms of art's social commitment, its political or ideological function. The artist's approach to the recipient of his or her works was also significantly determined by the official cultural policy; these new trends were also defined or somehow related to them. Therefore,...
