Universal Topological and Uniform Alegbra

Eastman, Donald E. 10 1900 (has links)
<p> This paper surveys. the fundamental theory of universal topological and uniform algebras and relates the former to topological partial algebras. In particular, the theory of topological and uniform Peano algebras is described and some other universal mapping questions analysed and solved. In addition a theory of compact extensions is developed for topological algebras.</p> / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

A GUI for Assisting FDTD Computations

Hsieh, Hsi-yun 08 September 2008 (has links)
In the past when we use the FDTD method to analyze electromagnetic problems, it has to properly discretize the structure and time, then analyze by C code. Before analyzing microstrip structures, we have to calculate and draw the distribution of structure on the grid paper. In order to increase the efficiency of drawing structure and coding, we design a GUI that it can draw and discretize the structure properly. This GUI can generate the most appropriate grid size for the user, reduce the distortion. Then, when we are coding the FDTD analysis program according to the output file, we can replace the parts of setting structure and material parameters with reading data and retain the parts of FDTD algorithm and absorbing boundary condition.

Uniform Mixing on Cayley Graphs over Z_3^d

Zhan, Hanmeng January 2014 (has links)
This thesis investigates uniform mixing on Cayley graphs over Z_3^d. We apply Mullin's results on Hamming quotients, and characterize the 2(d+2)-regular connected Cayley graphs over Z_3^d that admit uniform mixing at time 2pi/9. We generalize Chan's construction on the Hamming scheme H(d,2) to the scheme H(d,3), and find some distance graphs of the Hamming graph H(d,3) that admit uniform mixing at time 2pi/3^k for any k≥2. To restrict the mixing time, we derive a sufficient and necessary condition for uniform mixing to occur on a Cayley graph over Z_3^d at a given time. Using this, we obtain three results. First, we give a lower bound of the valency of a Cayley graph over Z_3^d that could admit uniform mixing at some time. Next, we prove that no Hamming quotient H(d,3)/<1> admits uniform mixing at time earlier than 2pi/9. Finally, we explore the connected Cayley graphs over Z_3^3 with connected complements, and show that five complementary graphs admit uniform mixing with earliest mixing time 2pi/9.

The school uniform is part of brazilian routine since the mid-nineteenth century, and still remains a widely used device by both public and private schools. Therefore, some considerations and analysis must be done in relation to the development of the uniforms that, like any other segment of the apparel, should result in a product that answers user expectations. In the literature review, information were obtained about the implementation of school uniforms, their production process and the essential properties of the product's apparel, and through a qualitative research, it was attempted to discover which is the real scenario in this segment, from the point of view not only by the user but also schools and confections. The result of this research was the formulation of the Projectual/Guidelines for the development of School Uniforms, which aim to elucidate important requirements to be considered during the design and development of school clothing, as well as provide pillars for the professionals responsible for this activity, so that it is done property and with a satisfactory result

Complete regularity and related concepts in L-uniform spaces

Harnett, Rait Sicklen January 1992 (has links)
L will denote a completely distributive lattice with an order reversing involution. The concept of an L-uniform space is introduced. An extension theorem concerning L-uniformly continuous functions is proved. A characterisation of L-uniformizability, involving L-complete regularity is given. With respect to L--completely regular spaces it is shown that the topological modification of an L-completely regular space is completely regular. Furthermore it is shown that the topologically generated L-topology of a completely regular space is L-completely regular.
