Inovativní rozvoj monoměst / Innovative approach to the mono-city theme.

Zaitseva, Alina January 2010 (has links)
My diploma paper deals with the monocities theme. Under monocities there are understood cities with a mono-thematic economy structure. Nowadays there are a lot of issues in the monocities as well as social and economic questions to be solved. At the beginning the term monocity is defined and included into historical connections, an attention is also paid to the future trends. I also tried to offer some proposals how to solve the situtation. An implementation of the creative industry (as specified in detail here) has been chosen as a preferred way out. To understand this subject better, I have also added a concrete example -- an art café project.

Vliv hlukového a světelného znečištění na hlasovou aktivitu kosa černého (&-lt;i&-gt;Turdus merula&-lt;/i&-gt;) / The impact of noise and light pollution on voice activity of Blackbird (Turdus merula)

Vlach, Martin January 2016 (has links)
Abstract Cities represent a new environment where organisms are exposed to different environmental conditions than the original natural habitats. This is essentially a noise and light pollution. The growing number of studies show that these factors can have a significant impact on voice activity of birds.Light pollution may alter the timing of vocalization.Urban noise can overlay the acoustic signals of birds, change the melody, volume, and the timing of singing. The main objective of this thesis was to investigate the influence of noise and light pollution to voice activity Blackbird (Turdus merula). In 2015 it was recorded vocalizations to 4 types of sites: a) on the site only with noise pollution (unlit busy road), b) on the site only with light pollution (Parks), c) on location with noise and light pollution (busy roads in cities), d) on the site without the noise and light pollution (forests). Recording was done with the help of voice recorders from early March until the end of May when the weather was good (no strong winds and storms) every week to thoroughly map the seasonal voice activity of the birds. Quiet location and localities with noise pollution have been in the woods near the town of Beroun near the D5 highway. Locations with light and noisy pollution is found in Hradec Kralove and Prague. In each locality they were searched individuals Blackbird and placed recorder into their territory. The recordings were taken 180 minutes before sunset, throughout the night and morning was the end of the recording 180 minutes after sunrise. The results showed the influence of the sites primarily on the morning vocalization when in the localities affected by light and noise vocalized significantly earlier than the quiet and noisy areas. In the evening times was vocalization without significant differences. The greatest intensity of vocalizations Blackbird was light-noisy areas, opposite to others. The evening was the greatest intensity of the sound recorded in quiet locations. Finally, the night vocalization has been demonstrated only in localities light-noisy.

Flight activity of bats in habitats with different represantation of human settlements

Kovaříková, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
Bats are important part of diversity of mammal fauna and they are used as indicators of environment quality. Many bat species, even those regarded as forest dwellings, use human settlements as a roosts and shelters. The bat community structure and activity of particular species will be studied at different places in order to determine the influence of presence of human settlements on forest bats. Detectoring and recording of bat echolocation calls will be used as an effective method enabling to monitor the presence and activity of particular bat species in different habitats.

Vliv antropogenní činnosti na ekologický stav Meredského potoka / Impact of antropogenic activities on ecological status of the Meredský creek

Rosypalová, Hana January 2016 (has links)
The presented thesis deals with the evaluation of the ecological status of small watercourse Meredský creek situated in Central Bohemia. Meredský creek springs in the village of Záborná Lhota, runs through the village of Chotilsko and behind the village of Čím empties into the river Vltava. This creek is affected by the urbanization, in the catchment area there is continual livestock grazing and there are several bigger water areas and smaller ponds situated on the creek. The landscape is completed by the mixed and coniferous forests and meadows. The evaluation rate of the pollution was determined according to the selected physical and chemical indicators of the water quality directly in the flow or evaluated in the laboratory conditions, biological status was determined by the community of aquatic macroinvertebrates (saprobity index, ASPT index, BMWP score, Margalef´s diversity index) and hydromorpohological status (average status) was evaluated too. The final ecological status was evaluated according to the Czech State Standard 75 7221 and requirements given by the environmental quality standards. Concentrations of ammonia, total phosphorus, nitrates, chlorides, dissolved oxygen were accomplished as not meeting environmental quality standards. According to the saprobity index, ASPT index, BMWP score water quality is average. Meredský creek reached the 3rd Class of hydromorphological status. According to the chemical status final ecological status is established as not meeting the requirements of the environmental quality standards and general measures leading to the better ecological status are suggested.

KÁŠEK, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the socio-economic and environmental aspects of urban space in general and in Tabor separately. An important task is to show the process of urbanization and suburbanization, which is one of the characteristic features of today. Městské regiony v kontextu kohezní politiky EU

Romanová, Martina January 2006 (has links)

Problematika slumů a možnosti jejího řešení na příkladu Keni / The issue of slums and its possible solutions (the example of Kenya)

Faltisová, Tereza January 2013 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the elimination of slums in Kenya. It is currently facing a huge challenge - improving the quality of life of slum dwellers. Despite the large amount of efforts developed to promote the slums in Kenya, the situation remains problematic and local slums has already grown to such proportions that it was not easy efficient and sustainable. Thesis is divided into three subsequent chapters. The first chapter focuses on the economic, political and social situation in Kenya. In the second chapter I explain term slum, it's history, the life of slum dwellers and I also think about causes of their origin and subsequent dynamic urban sprawl. The third chapter is focused on the actual Kenyan slums and projects dedicated to tackle the challenges of their elimination. My goal is to identify the causes that lead to the extension of slums. Further I want to analyze how the issue of slums in Kenya is solved and whether these projects are effective and sustainable.
