Kvasnicová, Sandra January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this study was to outline how the media image of the Václav Klaus' amnesty, brought by four Czech dailies in the first half of 2013, looked like and what editorial procedures were used by these media. The research focused on Mladá fronta Dnes, Hospodářské noviny, Právo and Haló noviny. From the methodological point of view it was a long-term research during the first six months of 2013. Articles that contained the keyword amnesty, belonged to the period under review, published in the selected newspapers and for which Anopress database assessed score of at least 90 % were included as a part of the final data collection. After eliminating duplicated and irrelevant articles, 448 units remained and these were subsequently analyzed by the quantitative content analysis. The work itself was divided into several parts, which gave to the analysis a final "form". In the first, theoretical part, were briefly mentioned basic theoretical approaches related to the research. Mediální obraz prezidentského období Václava Klause na stránkách Lidových novin a Hospodářských novin / Media presentment of the president Vaclav Klaus`s term on pages of Lidové noviny and Hospodářské noviny

Křapka, David January 2017 (has links)
The main goal of my thesis will be to find, how two significant dailies - Hospodářské noviny and Lidové noviny, reported about Václav Klaus's whole term. The thesis is based on the media theory like theory of gatekeeping or theory of agenda-setting and on the biography of Václav Klaus. There is a system of hypotheses that are asking questions which are needed for the study of stereotypes, for the following of the periodicity of titles with president's name on them, or for the meaning of the specific articles. For that I will be using Newton Media database. On the end of the thesis I should find out whether there is media bias towards Václav Klaus in his term. And I also hope that I would be able to evaluate objectivity of these studied dailies.

Dvořák, Ondřej January 2011 (has links)
Thesis is based on the views of authors of sociology of knowledge (Berger, Luckman, Bourdieu) and authors of discourse analysis (Foucault, Fairclough). Author is analyzing books and texts of Vaclav Klaus using the critical discourse analysis. Author is convinced that Vaclav Klaus has a substantive influence on public opinion in Czech Republic. Also author is convinced the struggle in the discussion over environmental topics is based in different basic assupmtions of discussion participant. Thus author decided to analyse the Vaclav Klaus's basic assumptions for the notions of nature and environment.

The thesis works with hypothesis that Klaus is in this thinking connected with New Right, which was mainly present in world politics by Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. Values of Klaus are first analysed theoretically via analysis of conservatism, liberalism and finally their synthesis in so called New Right. Next part of the thesis provided evidence for hypothesis on national level, where Klaus was minister of finance and prime minister and third part on international level with Klaus as president of Czech republic. The hypothesis is confirmed at the end by summarizing evidence, which arose from particular chapters.

Česká republika a Spojené království: srovnání euroskepticismu. / The Czech Republic and the UK, a Eurosceptic comparison.

Gata-Aura, Navraj January 2017 (has links)
Euroscepticism has recently started to enjoy a renaissance, boasting many different works in different formats whether it be a comparative study of two European countries or, investigating Euroscepticism in different national contexts to account for possible variations of Euroscepticism. This work aims to show the contrary. Using country case studies of the Czech Republic and the UK this paper shows that regardless of temporal differences and differences in national contexts, Euroscepticism is intrinsically linked to some lines of argument concerning economy and democracy.

Mediální reflexe politické agendy prezidenta Václava Klause / Media reflection of the president Václav Klaus' political agenda

Picková, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
Presidents are said to exert their influence mainly through addressing the public and public speaking. Setting the media agenda is considered as one of the presidents' main strategic powers. Although the contemporary Czech president Václav Klaus enjoys substantial media attention, it is not granted that the media report on everything he says and emphasises. This research focuses on the interaction between presidential speeches at important occasions, represented by the 1 January, 28 October, and 17 November address, and the media represented by three nation-wide dailies Mladá fronta DNES, Právo and Blesk. The time span of the research is 2007 to 2011. The analysis seeks to examine how often were the presidential speeches reported by the media, and which particular topics from them generated press coverage. The results show that the media were mostly attracted by the 1 January address, while the 17 November speech received least attention. It has also emerged that the media reporters have been choosing selectively which topics from the speeches to cover. The scope of the space dedicated to each of the topics by the president in his speeches has not been reflected by the journalists. Therefore, significant differences in the topical priorities between the presidential and media agenda were...
