The topic of the submitted diploma thesis is "Domestic violence and its prevention". Domestic violence is a societal problem accompanying the society since time immemorial. For a long time this phenomenon has been understood by society only as a private matter and government should intervene only in extreme cases. This state has been changing for the last two decades. Both professional and general public has begun to accept the opinion that domestic violence is a public issue that requires a state intervention. Domestic violence must be perceived interdisciplinary because it is a very complex problem. In the introductory part there is presented a definition of domestic violence and some other terms related to it. The following criminological part describes domestic violence itself, its dynamics, principles and specifics that make it different from other forms of violence. In this chapter, various aspects of this phenomenon are analysed, such as private nature, repetition and longevity, clearly defined constant roles, etc. Further, domestic violence is divided according to its types and forms that are specified in details. The thesis deals with the problem of domestic violence and its prevention. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining the key notions necessary to understand speci-fic characteristics of domestic violence. The next part of the thesis concentrates on con-temporary legal regulations on domestic violence, progress up to now, and this is being followed up by suggestions de lege ferenda on the end of the thesis. The essential part of the thesis deals with prevention and tries to present improvement suggestions.

CRIMINAL OFFENCES AGAINST HUMAN DIGNITY AND THEIR PREVENTION Abstract This thesis details criminal offences against human dignity and their prevention. The primary objective of this thesis is to present a clear overview of the matter at hand - which is indeed very serious and detrimental to our society - as well as the individual criminal offences against human dignity stated in Act no. 40/2009 Coll., Criminal Code. The document is divided into four main chapters, and each of them provides details regarding different aspects of this topic. The introductory chapter defines the basic terminology necessary to gain an understanding of this topic. The second chapter analyses the perpetrators and victims of criminal offences against human dignity and clarifies the classification according to a variety of typologies and characteristics. Furthermore, it delves into the personality types of the perpetrators as well as their motives for committing criminal acts, and it also describes the process of victimization and the manner in which the victims should be handled. Today bullying is a very actual theme. We can find bullying in nearly all primary schools. The thesis ?The problems of bullying at primary schools and options for prevention? has the goal to look deeper in the issue. The term bullying is defined in the theoretical part of the thesis. There is analysed the newest knowledge about the causes, occurrences and consequences of bullying in the environment of primary schools. In the practical part of the thesis I am trying through questionnaires to analyse the current situation related to prevention programs at primary schools. This is to analyse collected data in a quantitative survey, which is appropriate for this issue. The research solution was made in four primary schools and 215 pupils of the fifth grade and 10 class teachers participated. This work is for everyone, who does not only want to observe.
