Využitelnost jednotlivých volnočasových zařízení pro děti a mládež ve vybraných okresech Jihočeského kraje / Utilization of Particular Leisure Time Establishments for Children and Youth in Chosen Districts of South of Bohemia

Institutions for leisure time activities focused on children and youth are divided into two basic groups in this thesis. First group is represented by educational institutions whose activity is arranged by Act No. 561/2004 Coll., on pre-school, basic, secondary, tertiary and other kind of education (School Act). These institutions concern basic art education, language education and free-time activities. Non-state and non-profit organizations concerning upbringing and education of children and youth in their leisure time belong to the other group. Mostly, they are civil associations whose activity is arranged by Act No 83/1990 Coll. on gathering of citizens. For example, association Junák {--} union of scouts of the Czech republic, civil association YMCA (Young Men´s Christian Assiciation) or civil association Duha (Rainbow) belong there. The aim of this thesis is to describe the problems of institutions of free time activities in short and then bring information on particular organizations functioning in regions Český Krumlov and Prachatice. For this purpose the database of subjects functioning in these regions was created. From them, twenty organizations were chosen, investigated and described more detailed. Because of the aim, the method of qualitative research was used, to be specific, the technique of interview and technique of documents analysis were chosen. Recognized information is divided into six spheres, e.g. legal norm, financing, membership, focused activity, presentation for the public, staff and material funding. According to acquired information from these thematic spheres, separate institutions are compared and their common characteristics or the specifics of single respondents are checked. This work is established for everybody who wants to acquire basic information on free time institutions and know more about some of these organizations.

Rozvoj duchovních hodnot u dětí mladšího školního věku v rámci práce ve školní družině / Development of Religious Values in Children of Younger School Age Engaged in School Childrens Messroom Activities

This thesis examines the religious development in young children engaged in school children{\crq}s messrom activities. The theoretical part describes school children{\crq}s messrom activities at free play time, characterizes guidelines of activities in school children{\crq}s messrom programs, and explores difficulties in value development from physiological, pedagogical anthropology and axiology, philosophy and religious ethics. This thesis also analyzes children of younger school age and studies normal childhood development and phases of development relating to human religiosity. It also includes the issues surrounding today{\crq}s education system relating to religion. The practical part of this thesis is based upon survey research conducted in two elementary schools. The survey subject was directed relating to the meaning of Christian holidays such as Easter and Christmas, preternatural phenomena and the perplexity surrounding death. It emerged from this survey research that the majority of young children are unaware of the meaning of Christian holidays such as Easter or Christmas, that they are interested in preternatural phenomena, and think intensively about death. Three weeks of learning guidelines are presented within this thesis. These guidelines are based on the survey study and cover the religious meanings of Christian holidays, specifically Christmas and Easter, and perplexity surrounding death.

This dissertation is focusing on definitions of some typical features of a family unit and its impact on their child´s free time use. These aspects are for e.g. completeness of the family, child´s status among their brothers and sisters, level of parents´ education and the social strata of parents. The dissertation is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the beginning of the theoretical part the question of family, definition according to the number of members, and other features implicated from the family status are being discussed. Second part concern the free time and children´s education out of school. The theory is followed by purely practical part of my dissertation in which I conduct a research. The main question for my research was if the above mentioned aspects of the family unit can have an impact on the way a child spends their free time. Results of this probe have been concluded and demonstrated by graphs and tables at the end of the dissertation.

The diploma thesis "Individualization in Preschool and Elementary Education" deals with an individualized education of preschoolers and children at the primary school stage. It is a case study with direct observation, interviews and studying the relevant documents qualitatively examines in detail the individualization in a particular educational institution in order to gain insight into its real individualized learning using representative sample to clarify its meaning. The thesis has both theoretical and practical forms and is aimed at studying the possibility of the individualized learning. It analyzes a specific way of teachers' pedagogical work with preschool children and school children in primary education. The first chapter of the theoretical part is based on knowledge drawn from several information sources about the individualization as an organizational form of education and also on synthesis of findings from several pedagogical and psychological disciplines influencing individualized learning; the second chapter describes the basic terms, principles, types, systems and special organizations of individualized educational work. Vývoj syntaxe psané češtiny u žáků staršího školního věku / Developement of syntax in written Czech at the pupils of lower secondary education

This dissertation thesis focuses on the topic of the development of syntax of written Czech at the pupils of lower secondary education on the material of written compositions of story-telling. The thesis characterises the form of current syntax of written Czech and its development depending on the age of pupils. The analysis is bases on two collections of texts - the texts in the first collection were produced by 6th to 9th primary school grade pupils based in a town near Prague, the second collection was produced by 6th to 9th primary school grade pupils in Prague. These data were then supplemented with corpus material. In total, there were 302 compositions analysed. Moreover, to depict the reality in its complexity, also curricular and educational materials were being analysed as well as lesson observations and structured interviews conducted with teachers. The comparison between the particular constituents of written syntax enables the conclusions to be drawn being based on the analysed material giving evidence on the current state and development of written syntax with pupils of 6th to 9th grade of primary school, as well as possible disparities of development of particular syntax constituents to be identified and some recommendations for teaching methodology to be conveyed.

The thesis is following up on general characteristics of a composite classes schools in Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to find out, whether the physical education on composite classes schools has different specifics, due to its current lack of spacial requirements for physical education. This problematic is examined in the investigatory part of the thesis, where the results are sought with structured interviews and surveys. The outcome of said surveys is, that the spacial and material conditions for physical education on composite classes school are not a hindrance to fulfil the School educational program in physical education and are not reflected on the quality of education.

Využití Montessori pedagogické metody na základní škole / Use of Montessori Teaching Method in Primary School

The thesis is focused on the use of the Marie Montessori method at the second stage of the primary school. The first part explains the principles of Montessori education and training, including the introduction of appropriate didactic recommendations. There are mentioned possibilities of project teaching and description of the cooking project that is the subject of the research. The aim of this work was to find out what changes pupils perceive after completing the annual cooking project. The results showed that pupils learned how to cook, work in a team and how to resolve conflicts. They started eating more vegetables. Cooking is fun. In the future, pupils want to choose whether or not to participate in the project.

The thesis deals with activating teaching methods and their influence on vocabulary acquisition in the field of English for Medical Purposes. The experimental research explores the extent to which activating teaching methods influence the acquisition of professional vocabulary. For this purpose, a set of activities (didactic games and role-plays) was created and implemented at the beginning of each teaching block for the subject Medical English I and II. The main objective of these activities was the review of word stock from the previous lessons. The review was focused on the form, meaning, and use of words. In the research, both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection were used, including progress tests, credit tests, and questionnaires. Progress tests and credit tests were used to measure whether there was a significant statistical difference regarding the professional vocabulary acquisition between the experimental and control groups. A statistically significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups at the B2 level only. This diploma thesis deals with the teaching specificity of the history of the 20th century in upper primary schools and with methodical drafts of selected thematic units of the same period. The thesis puts emphasis on problems related to teaching on the 20th century. The work summarizes theoretical knowledge of teaching on the history of the 20th century and follows up the classification of this historical period into the General educational program for basic education. Methods and strategies suitable for teaching the history of the 20th century and the approach how to give lessons about controversial and delicate topics in history are also included in the present thesis. The methodical drafts of selected thematic units from the history of the 20th century are one part of the thesis. These drafts were worked out in respect of using various teaching styles and educational strategies. The thesis also pays attention to the utilization of didactic media in the teaching of history.
