This thesis deals with humanitarian aid mediated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. It represents the nature of this type of aid and distinguishes it from foreign development cooperation. Attention is paid to the types of humanitarian crises and phases of humanitarian interventions. Furthermore, the work deals with the development of humanitarian aid in the Czech Republic and the world. It presents the activities of globally most important international organizations and subsequently focuses on non-governmental non-profit organizations operating in the Czech Republic. From the perspective of the world's largest donors, it lists twenty countries that contribute most to humanitarian aid in the world. Last but not least, it deals with the development of Czech humanitarian aid and the presentation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. As part of the evaluation of the Ministry's involvement, it relies on the documents provided and monitors humanitarian aid in terms of areas, countries, causes, finances, type of aid, non-governmental non-profit organizations and grant procedures. In the analytical work, the author draws on its own data set of humanitarian projects from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic between 2002 and 2017. In conclusion, the author points out the perception of humanitarian aid from the perspective of Czech citizens, the limiting amount of government budget and the priorities of the Government of the Czech Republic.

Diploma thesis evaluates the impact of foreign direct investments on revenues of income taxes in the Czech Republic. The main method used in this thesis is a regression analysis of time series tax revenues and inflows and outflows of foreign direct investments. For better results, the analysis were tested other important variables, gross domestic product and income tax rates. The operational aim of this thesis is also constructed regression model of dependence of inflows of foreign investments on the average effective tax rate in the Czech Republic.

Cloud Computing is currently frequently discussed concept. Access to IT via a web browser is increasingly desired means of providing information and communication technology across the whole society, public administration included. This thesis focuses on the possibilities of Cloud Computing employment in the Czech Republic's Public Administration, specifically on the example of Czech diplomatic missions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which they are directly subordinated. As a starting point the comparison with the United States, thw Great Britain, Australia, Switzerland, Japan and the European Union is taken. These examples demonstrate that Cloud Computing can work in public administration and that it will remain a trend prevalent in government offices on a global scale. Equally important is the comparison with the situation within the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, which has already been using Cloud Computing services for couple of years. Based on the comparison with all above mentioned countries, with the Ministry of the Interior and given the international, European and national legal requirements, potential cloud services for email communication and document management system are identified to be envisaged for diplomatic missions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This diploma thesis examines the Czechoslovak-British relations between 1945 and 1948 primarily by analysing documents found in the Archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the politico-diplomatic relations and describes their evolution with regards to events of major importance to both involved countries; such as parliamentary elections, the question of German population transfer, or the attitude of Czechoslovakia and the United Kingdom towards the Marshall Plan. The thesis is divided into six chapters and spans the conception of the Czechoslovak foreign policy, based on cooperation with the East, as well as the West; the evolution of the bilateral relations, which were influenced by, inter alia, parliamentary elections in both countries; and the mutual foreign visits. The post-war period is being examined until February 1948 when the change in political regime resulted in deterioration of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

V diplomové práci popisuji přímé zahraniční investice v České republice a jejich vývoj v jednotlivých obdobích, hodnotím konkurenceschopnost České republiky v boji o zahraniční investory, popisuji lokalizační faktory přímých zahraničních investic. Práce také popisuje systém investičních pobídek zavedený v České republice. Práce je rozdělena o čtyř kapitol. První kapitola je věnována teorii přímých zahraničních investic, v druhé kapitole analyzuji lokalizační faktory, které ovlivňují příliv přímých zahraničních investic, ve třetí kapitole popisuji vývoj přímých zahraničních investic v České republice od jejího vzniku až do současnosti. Poslední kapitolu věnuji systému investičních pobídek v České republice.

This diploma thesis is focused on exploring benefits and costs of foreign students at Czech universities. The work contains analysis of Czech system of higher education and it's financing. Foreign students are compared to Czech students. The aim is to find significant differences between them. On the basis of these analyzes is made a model of benefits and costs.

The topic of the thesis "Comparison of investment attractiveness between Pardubický region and Královéhradecký region" is question of foreign direct investments and investment attractiveness. First theoretical part deals with general question of foreign investments, forms of investments, positive and negative effects of investments, the last part is concentrated on CzechInvest agency and investment incentives. Second practical part is focused on analysis of investment attractiveness in Pardubický region and Královéhradecký region. Investment attractiveness analysis is transferred from international to regional level. The main objective of this thesis is confrontation of investments into the secondary industry between mentioned regions from 1998 (beginning of the providing of investment incentives) to 2007 and figure out which of them is more attractive for investors in considering where to locate their investments. The reasons and sphere of differences follow at the end of the thesis.

The topic of this thesis is the protection of foreign investments. This topic can be considered to be very current due to the present trends in the world economy, when globalization is constantly intensifying the international economic relations and foreign investments have therefore become more important in recent years. The aim of the thesis is to introduce to the reader the basics of the legal regulation of foreign investment protection. The first chapter introduces the very concept and definition of the term "investment". Therefore, the first chapter presents various definitions of the term investment that can be encountered. The following chapter briefly outlines the historical evolution of this protection, starting from the period of colonialism up to the present times. The next chapter then includes the sources of foreign protection that are the result of historical development. Particular attention is paid to bilateral and multilateral investment protection agreements, as the investment protection system consists primarily of such agreements. The theme of my thesis is "Analysis of business environment in Ukraine." The thesis contains basic information about Ukraine, its membership in international organizations, economic and internal political situation in the country, privatization of state property, foreign trade and foreign investments in the territory. The main goal of this work was to describe the investment and business environment of Ukraine, ie. mode of foreign investment, banking and taxation, business risks and the degree of corruption in Ukraine, as well as bilateral cooperation between Czech republic and Ukraine, possible investment opportunities in prosperous Ukrainian regions and sectors such as machine-building, transport infrastructure, civil engineering, furniture industry and ecology.
