1 Abstract The issues of criminal custody This thesis deals with theoritical issues of criminal custody, which is the gravest possible criminal procedural measure of law enforcement authorities whose purpose is to ensure a person during criminal proceedings. In the opening chapters of this thesis are outlined not only the issues of the very concept of criminal custody and relevant legislation, but also the basic principles and tenets, controlling criminal cases in which the defendant was remanded in custody, as well as the enshrinement of the right to personal freedom and security and the possibility of its limitations, both at the level of the Czech legal regulation of constitutional character, as well as from the perspective of international human rights standards. The thesis is also focused on the issue of the substantive detention law, therefore the legislation of the reasons for custody and conditions of detention, as well as the issue of the procedural detention law, therefore the legislation of procedural aspects of decisions on custody in criminal proceedings in the wider concept. Thesis shows progression of catastrophic events and their influence on insurance market. Insurance and reinsurance are connected to conception of catastrophes and therefore it is necessary that this thesis firstly presents key features and classification of notion catastrophe itself. For understanding of the notion is important to differentiate between nature and manmade disasters. Next part summarizes large-scale events in 2008, significant events in the past and disasters in Czech Republic. Catastrophic events are analyzed from various angles, but the most important one seems to be insured losses volume. The core of the thesis is concerned with explanation of the disaster trend and its consequences. Key problem of disaster insurance is connected to the question, how to cover catastrophic losses for both, individuals and insurance companies.

Zajištění kurzových rizik v kontextu českého exportu / Hedging currency risks in the context of Czech export

The main focus of this work is on hedging of currency risks with special emphasis on the case of Czech export. In the first chapter, I create a motivation for further studying of the problem. I describe the state of export industries and the economy as a whole and how these aspects are connected to the exchange rates. In the second chapter, I explain how firms create their assumptions about future exchange rates. I also run a Monte Carlo analysis on historical data and come with predictions of my own. In the third chapter, I am discussing the relevance of using VaR models for estimating the maximum possible loss of funds due to unwanted moves in the exchange rate. Furthermore, I describe various instruments usable for hedging of currency exposure including forwards, options, swaps and other derivatives. In the final chapter of this work, I am asking financial and sales directors of 51 Czech firms about how currency risks influence their businesses and how they protect themselves against these threats.

The thesis is focused on the management of trade receivables. The first part of the thesis deals with the definition of trade receivables and describes their importance to the company. In the following section it is mentioned the significance of internal directive, related evidence and valuation of trade receivables with an emphasis on accounting and tax issues from the perspective of the Czech legislation. The next chapter is devoted to the entire process of management of trade receivables. There are described particular sections of the process from securing receivables to debts collection. In the fourth part there are solved overdue receivables and their accounting and tax solutions. In the conclusion I analyze management of trade receivables in a particular company.

The Diploma thesis is focused on possibilities of an assessment of a hydraulic switchboard and its manufacturing process. Furthermore, it analyses methods individually which are suitable for quality assurance and production reliability, which are described in details. The follow-up work focuses more on the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method which is applicable in the early warning system and the Failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA) method, applicable in the planning system. These two methods are further applied to the newly introduced process of machining the hydraulic switchboard as an effective tool not only for assessing the reliability of production, but also for its subsequent securing and maintaining in a relevant condition.
