Mikrochemismus křemene jako metalogenetický indikátor / Quartz microchemistry as metallogenetic indicator

Pacák, Karel January 2016 (has links)
Region surrounding the Central Bohemian Plutonic Complex represents one of the most important gold bearing zones in the Czech Republic. Several types of gold deposits dominated by hydrothermal quartz gangue were explored here and distinguished: the Intrusion related gold deposits ("Petráčkova hora" and "Mokrsko") and the orogenic gold deposits ("Jílové u Prahy" and "Kasejovice" ). Deposits "Libčice u Nového Knína" and "Roudný u Vlašimi" are partially similar to the orogenic gold type, but are different from other orogenic type deposits in the region. All together 38 samples from these five deposits were analyzed with laser ablation technique (LA- ICP-MS) to produce 228 measurements. Selected samples were selected to represent both main quartz gangue carrying the Au ore and latter weakly mineralized quartz gangue. Samples representing hydrothermal quartz gangue with no direct relation to Au-ore deposits were also collected in order to compare chemical composition of both quartz types originating from the same area. Main concern of this work was in-situ analysis of chemical composition of different generations of quartz gangue and statistical comparison of differences within individual deposits as well as comparing the examined deposits themselves. Total 65 isotopes were measured, trace element...

The thesis presents a solution for restoration of gold mines in Ghana. The solution was created as a model example for a solving territory. The restoration aims are repair of environmental damage and socio-economic development in region. The thesis was divided into two parts. The proposal of the solution was created based on an assessment of local climate, edaphic conditions and social and economic situation of local community. Issues of mining and its legislative framework were evaluated in the first part. The result is restoration through planting trees. Forest plantation will be created in selected area. Agroforestry system will be used for management of plantation. Identifying the most suitable funding way was performed in second part. Funding opportunities were chosen in public and private sector. The proposal of the project was modified according to chosen opportunities. The most suitable organization, which provides grant possibilities, was selected in public sector. The project application was created according to regulation of organization. Business plan was created for private sector in order to obtain an investor. Business plan includes financial, economic and risk analysis. Both options have different procedure, but both will ensure the same aim of restoration. The results were applied to the whole studied area and developmental benefit was evaluated.

Vybrané regiony laténského osídlení v Čechách a jejich možný vztah ke zdrojům zlata / Selected settlement regions of La Tène Period in Bohemia and their potential relationship to the resources of gold

Smola, Adam January 2017 (has links)
The thesis deals with a possible relationship between the late Iron Age settlement and gold deposits. Its first objective is to determine the probability rate in which of the three selected areas of Bohemia ( áslavsko, Jílovsko and P íbramsko) the gold mining could take place in La Tène period and where is an increased probability of obtaining direct evidence of this mining. The second objective is to create a model of gold mining and gold processing in La Tène period and to propose a framework for the future research that would confirm or deny such model. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part (chapters 1 - 4) contains general introduction to the topic of gold in La Tène period in Bohemia region, a summary of current knowledge about the possible gold mining and a comparison of possibilities and limits to deepen this knowledge. Emphasis is put on methods and procedures, including the application of very promising chemical-physical analysis. The second part of the thesis (chapter 5) focuses on detailed analysis of gold deposits and settlements in La Tène period in selected regions of áslavsko, Jílovsko and P íbramsko, where is the La Tène gold mining expected. In the subchapters on geology, primary and secondary gold deposits, including geochemical anomalies and historical mining relicts...

Středověká a raně novověká exploatace zlata na Vodňansku. Studium opomíjené součásti historické sídelní infrastruktury a ekonomiky regionu / Medieval and Early Modern Age exploitation of gold in Vodňany. Study of neglected parts of historical residential infrastructure and economy of the region.

MAŠLOVÁ, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis presents the results of the study of historical exploitation of gold in Vodňany, which were partly introduced in previous bachelor thesis. The core of the thesis is a list of locations that have been researched mainly through studying lidar pictures, field and heavy minerals prospecting, professional literature and geological maps. Based on the observation of common or different features of the individual areals, the thesis further solved questions related to the morphology of the areals, the probable occurrence of gold, the method of its mining, and, consequently, property and settlement links.

Geneze Au-Sb mineralizace na ložisku Krásná Hora / Genesis of Au-Sb ores at the Krásná Hora deposit

Němec, Matěj January 2014 (has links)
Ore deposits of the Krásná Hora ore district are the main representative of the Sb-Au mineralization in the Czech Republic. It can be classified genetically as epizonal subtype of orogenic gold deposits. Spatially and partly temporally are associated with the intrusion of the Central Bohemian Pluton. The ore bodies are related to quartz veins that follow the course of E-W striking lamprophyre dykes, which are usually heavily crushed and altered. Ore shoots with massive stibnite are located mainly at the intersections of these E-W trending veins with the NW-SE striking tectonic fault zones. Au-Sb ores at Krásná Hora ore district formed in an area of repeatedly activated fault zones. Three generations of hydrothermal quartz were identified on microscopic scale. Earliest quartz (Qtz1), which was considered in the literature auriferous originated from low-salinity H2O - CO2 fluids at ~350 řC and at a depth of about 5 km. The younger quartz (Qtz2) originated at lower temperatures of about 260 řC and lower depth of about 3-4 km from low/saline aqueous fluids. Both older (Qtz1) and younger quartz (Qtz2) are not auriferous. The gold is associated with younger paragenetic formation (Anti + Au + Cc + Qtz3) that fills in intergranular spaces and fractures in Qtz1 and Qtz2 . Due to the partial exhumation of the...

The impact of mining to the socio-economic development of Ghana: The case of Anglogold Ashanti Ghana

Boateng, Kofi Ampadu January 2015 (has links)
Mining has a long history as far as the existence of humans are concerned. Mining contributes to economic growth and can be a source of employment for many. Mining has been a source of revenue to most developing countries that are endowed with mineral and natural resources. These revenues come in the form of taxes, government shares, royalties, commitment to corporate social responsibility and foreign exchange earnings as a result of the exportation of minerals. When these benefits are managed carefully, economies can be transformed. Due to the immense benefits mining has on the economy and society, there is an over exploitation on environment leading to environmental degradation. The pollution associated with mining when not properly managed can result in an epidemic and the most affected are communities in which mining activities are predominant. The aim of this thesis is to assess the socio-economic impact of mining in Ghana, with reference to AGA and Obuasi municipality. The mode of data collection was mainly secondary and primary data. The secondary data was obtained from numerous governmental institutions and AGA. A brief questionnaire was administered and analyzed. The response to the questionnaire was close ended to enable easy interpretation. Availability of relevant data was a constraint and this caused delays in the writing of this thesis. Ghana holds large mineral reserves and its extractives sector has been dominated for centuries by mining. Gold is currently the most important of all the minerals mined, accounting for over 90 percent of mining sector revenue while the mining industry as a whole contributes about 47 percent of total exports (Ghana EITI reports summary), and up to 40 percent of revenue in some mining areas. Drawing conclusions from the research and the above statement, it can be said that Ghana's economy as it stands now cannot thrive without revenue from mining sector. There is therefore the need to invest in research and development in order to find alternatives since mining is a non-renewable resource. It was also observed that Obuasi cannot stand the test of sustainability during the closure of AGA. Therefore the need to explore alternate livelihoods apart from mining.

Analýza vlivu fundamentálních zpráv na vývoj ceny zlata / Analysis and Influences of Fundamental news on Gold Prices

Kubaštová, Magdaléna January 2017 (has links)
This master thesis, Analysis and Influences of Fundamental news on Gold Prices deals with macroeconomic variables that drive the price of gold. This paper is divided into three chapters: Possible investment forms in gold, Fundamental analysis of commodities, and lastly Analysis of impact of strong economies and their influence on gold prices. In the first chapter, emphasis is put on the Efficient Market Theory that plays an important role in success or failure of investment strategies such as technical and fundamental analysis. The second chapter illustrates the Commitment of Traders (COT) report and how it is used as a tool to predict the movement of gold prices. This chapter also discusses other large drivers effecting gold prices such as financial and geopolitical stability, inflation, interest rates, Central Banking operations, the value of the US dollar, and other influences. The final chapter analyzes the impact of announced fundamental news in the United States, China, and Europe on the price of gold. The empirical part of this paper analysis the impact of announced fundamental news in United States, China and Europe on gold prices. With the use of the linear regression method, we can test whether the macroeconomic variables significantly influence the return on gold investments immediately after their announcement, or over long periods of time. If this new public data was calculated into gold prices directly, investors would not be able to achieve additional returns by using fundamental analysis. The major findings are summed up at the end of the last chapter.
