I Sverige har anmälningarna gällande hot och våld gentemot sjuksköterskor ökat under en längre tid. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att belysa konsekvenserna av hot och våld gentemot sjuksköterskor inom akutsjukvård. Det finns ett behov av att bättre förstå konsekvenserna av hot och våld för den enskilda sjuksköterskan. Metod: En litteraturstudie genomfördes med 10 kvalitativa artiklar inhämtade från databaserna PubMed, CINAHL och PsycINFO. Analys gjordes och meningsbärande enheter plockades ut som resulterade i fem olika teman. Resultat: Resultatet delades i emotionella konsekvenser; social påverkan; fysiska konsekvenser; normalisering samt underrapportering; konsekvenser för vårdorganisationen. Vad som kan observeras var att utsatthet för hot och våld resulterar i allvarlig emotionell, fysisk, psykisk skada för sjuksköterskor och vårdorganisationer påverkas negativt och att patienten inte ges optimal vård och omvårdnad. Sjuksköterskor drabbas negativt och påverkar deras förmåga att bedriva god och säker vård. Konklusion: Slutsats som kan dras är att sjuksköterskor som utsätts för hot våld på sin arbetsplats lider personlig skada, bedriver sämre omvårdnad och att vårdorganisationen påverkas finansiellt, personal- och rekrytering-mässigt. / Furskog, G & Lauterbach Olsson, J. Malmö University: Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Care Science, 2018.Background: Violence and threats about violence is a growing issue, both in the national and the international stage. In Sweden, the number of reports regarding threats and violence that have been documented by “Arbetsmiljöverket” have increased over a long period of time. Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate the consequences of threats and violence directed towards registered nurses. There is a need to better understand the consequences of threats and violence directed towards the individual nurse. Method: A literature review was conducted with information extracted from 10 separate qualitative articles, they were gathered from the databases PubMed, CINAHL and PsycINFO. Analysis was done according to Forsberg & Wengströms’ content-analysis which resulted into five different themes. Results: The results were divided into emotional consequences; social consequences; physical consequences; underreporting and normalization; consequences for the health care-organization. It was noted that exposure to threats and violence resulted in serious emotional, physical, psychological and social damage for the individual nurse. It was also noted that health-care organizations suffered as well and that, in the end, patients were not given optimal health-care. Nurses suffer from many different consequences that negatively impact their ability to practice as safe and adequate care-givers. Conclusion: Nurses who are exposed to threats and violence in their workplace suffers from personal injuries of various kinds. Furthermore, their work as nurses declines and health-organizations are negatively affected in areas such as finances, staff welfare and recruitment.
