The thesis focuses on the three main goals of European energy policy -- sustainability, competitiveness and security of energy supply -- and their influence in the Czech energy policy. The thesis deals with the development of European Union energy policy, it is also concerned with the development of the Czech energy policy since the 90s of the 20th century. It analyzes how the three main goals are included in the energy policy of Czech Republic and what are their benefits and risks.
