A computer assisted design model, developed for
undergraduate students to teach the basic principles of
humidification design, is developed and presented.
Beginning with the development of the differential
equations, the conversion to numerical code is presented,
followed by a series of applications to mechanical draft
in cooling towers, natural draft cooling towers, and packed
columns. Extensions of the program to other uses is also
discussed. Several calculation options are presented which
allow students to understand the effect of design options at
a practical level. A user's manual, flow charts, program
listing, and other design information are also included. / Graduation date: 1991
