[The] mixing of cold air jets with a hot gas stream

Note: / The importance of the problem of mixing cold air jets with a hot gas stream is outlined, with particular reference to gas turbine combustion chamber design. Present knowledge of the process of eddy diffusion and mechanical or bulk mixing is reviewed. An apparatus constructed for the study of the particular problem of cold air jets issuing from a flat wall in a direction approximately normal to a hot gas steam described.
