Parmi les centaines de milliers d'immigrants qui sont accueillis au Canada et particulièrement au Québec au cours des années précédentes, il existe un nombre important d'adolescents. Ces derniers sont susceptibles également de faire face à beaucoup de défis socio scolaires. Ainsi, au regard de ces défis socio scolaires, les parents immigrants peuvent vivre des situations d'adaptation. Cette activité de recherche se veut un jalon en vue de mieux comprendre l'exercice d'adaptation de ces parents immigrants. Par une approche qualitative comprenant des entrevues auprès de dix parents immigrants haïtiens habitant la province de Québec, cette activité de recherche vise trois objectifs spécifiques. Elle vise à rendre compte de la perception qu'ont les parents immigrants haïtiens du rôle parental dans les deux sociétés (Haïti et Québec), à comprendre du point de vue de ces parents immigrants haïtiens, le vécu socio scolaire des adolescents après l'immigration au Québec et à identifier et décrire les mécanismes d'adaptation des parents immigrants haïtiens au regard des défis socio scolaires de leurs enfants adolescents après l'immigration au Québec. L'analyse des entretiens montre que pour la majorité des répondants, un parent, qu'il vit en Haïti ou au Québec, doit être responsable. En analysant les discours de certains participants, on remarque que cette responsabilité s'explique en subvenant quotidiennement aux besoins essentiels des enfants et en garantissant leur protection. Ils ont également mis de l'avant la responsabilité d'aider l'enfant à se développer et à s'épanouir socialement. L'analyse des entretiens révèle aussi que les adolescents, après leur arrivée au Québec, ont connu beaucoup de difficultés, tant à l'école qu'au sein de leur famille. Les difficultés rencontrées par ces adolescents à l'école ont un lien au système d'apprentissage scolaire au Québec, au racisme, au changement d'attitude après l'immigration, à la maîtrise de la langue française et à la difficulté de se faire des amis. Celles rencontrées à la maison sont liées aux trajectoires d'adaptation différentes des membres de la famille et le maintien des pratiques familiales et éducatives traditionnelles. Enfin, cette analyse permet de mettre en exergue les différentes stratégies d'adaptation adoptées par ces parents immigrants, telles que : la mobilisation du capital socioculturel (suivi rigoureux à la maison, un accompagnement à la maison de l'adolescent dans ses devoirs, le renforcement à la maison de la relation de confiance), la communication (avec l'école) sollicitée par la famille et la mobilisation de la communauté haïtienne. / Among the hundreds of thousands of immigrants who have come to Canada and Quebec in previous years, there are a significant number of adolescents. The latter are also likely to face many socio-academic challenges. Despite these socio-academic challenges, immigrant parents may experience situations of adaptation. This research activity is intended to be a milestone to better understand the adjustment exercise of these immigrant parents. This qualitative approach includes interviews with ten Haitian immigrant parents living in the province of Quebec. This research aims to report on the perception that Haitian immigrant parents have of the parental role in both societies (Haiti and Quebec), to understand, from the point of view of these Haitian immigrant parents, the socio-academic experience of adolescents after immigration to Quebec. In addition, it is expected to identify and describe the adaptation mechanism of these Haitian immigrant parents regarding this socio-academic experience of their adolescents after immigration to Quebec. Analysis of the interviews shows that most respondents believe that a parent should be responsible in practice, whether it is Haitian society or Quebec society. By evaluating the dialogues of some participants, we notice that this responsibility can be explained in providing daily for the basic needs of children and guaranteeing their protection. They also put forward the responsibility of helping the child to develop and flourish socially. Analysis of the interviews also reveals that the adolescents, after their arrival in Quebec, experienced many difficulties, both at school and within their families. The difficulties encountered at school are linked to the school learning system in Quebec, to racism, to the change of attitude after immigration, to the mastery of the French language and to the trouble of making friends. Those encountered at home are linked to the different adaptation trajectories of family members and the maintenance of traditional family and educational practices. Finally, this analysis makes it possible to highlight the different adaptation strategies of these immigrant parents, such as: the mobilization of socio-cultural capital (rigorous monitoring at home, home support for the adolescent in his homework, strengthening of the relationship of trust at home), communication (with the school) requested by the family and mobilization of the Haitian community. / Nan mitan santèn milye imigran ki vini Kanada, sitou Kebèk pandan ane ki sot pase yo, gen yon kantite siyifikatif jèn ti moun.
