Orientador: Magda Adelaide Lombardo / Banca: Sergio Luis Antonello / Banca: Andreia Medinilha Pancher / Banca: Clarilza Prado de Souza / Banca: Maria Salete Zufelato Vencel / Resumo: Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo a abordagem das variáveis que compõem o Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH) no período de 1990 a 2011, por meio do Relatório do Desenvolvimento Humano (RDH), publicado pelo Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD), órgão vinculado ao Programa das Nações Unidas (ONU). A metodologia desenvolvida inclui medir não apenas os aspectos da riqueza de uma nação, como também a qualidade de vida através de variáveis e indicadores sustentáveis. Foi ampliada a convergência metodológica, que compõe a análise geográfica, histórica, econômica, sociológica e de sustentabilidade socioambiental. As variáveis do IDH das nações atuais foram analisadas, de modo a realçar mudanças observadas nas diferentes metodologias, antes de 2010 e no referido ano, em que ocorreu a mudança do Índice. Foram analisadas questões de natureza ambiental como poluição atmosférica, pegada ecológica, áreas protegidas, saneamento básico, água potável e índices de sustentabilidade, como o Índice de Felicidade de Países (IFI). Este estudo apresenta o Índice de Sustentabilidade (IS) através da junção do Índice de Desempenho Ambiental (IDA) e do IFI. A partir disto, propõe-se a criação do Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano Sustentável (IDHS), o qual (representa) o cômputo do IS com o IDH de 2011. Os mapas temáticos mostram a espacialidade dos índices socioambientais / Abstract: This research was the treatment of the variables that make up the Human Development Index (HDI) in the period from 1990 to 2011, through the Human Development Report (HDR), published by the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP), agency linked to the United Nations (UN). The methodology includes measuring not only aspects of a nation's wealth, but also the quality of life through sustainable variables and indicators. It was expanded the methodological convergence that makes up the geographical analysis, historical, economic, sociological and socioenvironmental sustainability. The HDI variables of the current nations were analyzed in order to highlight the changes observed in different methodologies, before 2010 and in this year, on which occurred the index change. Environmental issues was analysed,such as atmospheric pollution, ecological footprint, protected areas, sanitation, drinkable water and sustainability indexes, as well as the Happiness Index of Countries (IFI). This study presents the Sustainability Index (SI) through the junction the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) and the IFI. From this, we propose the creation of Sustainable Human Development Index (SHDI), which is the calculation of the SI with the HDI of 2011.
