This investigation deals with the precipitation heat treatment of aluminum alloy 75-S, using a “hot quench” procedure. That is, quenching from the solution temperature directly to the various ageing temperatures. Various ageing times were employed after “hot quenching” and the mechanical properties were determined.
The results show that the 121℃ is the best ageing temperature for the best mechanical properties. / M.S.
