Personae are fictional, specific and archetypal characters that are applied as prototypical representatives of specific user and target groups. They help companies to further develop their products by enabling them to better reflect the needs, goals and expectations of customers. Personae are thus used to ensure that the company's products are aligned with the needs and expectations of its customers. In the current context of the emerging sustainability discourse in society, further potential of the method becomes apparent: in the context of the orientation for product development, which focuses on the sustainability of the development. This article is intended to serve as a basis for further work to the targeted integration of sustainability aspects into the persona method.
