The study also evaluates the performance of normal and high strength concretes repaired with CARDIFRC using a wedge splitting test. The factors that could affect the bond between the concrete and the repairing material, for example the thermal cycling and the roughness, are also investigated. Finally, an analytical model based on the fracture mechanics concept was used for predicting the ultimate moment capacity of the retrofitted beam. It was compared with experimental lab work.
