The aim of this study was to evaluate in vitro marginal microleakage of three bonding systems on composite resin restorations in bovine teeth. Seventy-five slot vertical class 11 cavities were prepared with gingival margin located 1,0 mm into cementum and they were numbered and divided in three different groups according to the bonding system used: group SBMP - several steps bonding system, Mutipurpose Scotchbond®; group PB2.1 - one step bonding system, Prime & Bond 2.1®; group CLB2V - self-ecthing bonding system, Clearfil Liner Bond 2V®. The cavities were filled with Tetric Ceram® composite resin with three increments. They were polished and the teeth were impermeabilized properly and submetted to 1000 cycles in distilled water at 5°C±2°C and 55°C±2°C temperatures. Following that process, the teeth were immersed in 2% Methylene Blue tamponed for 4 hours. They were sectioned in the center of the restorations and the specimens were obtained and analyzed with regard to the degree of leakage in stereocope magnifying glass 50X magnitication. The results of the present study: group SBMP - 936,50; group PB2.1 - 1053,00; group CLB2V - 860,50. Although the Clearfil Liner Bond 2®, has showed best performance, a Kruskal Wallis test revealed no statistically siggniticant difference in microleakage to a=0,4531 and p>0,05. It is concluded that three bonding systems were not able to prevent the microleakage in gingival margin of class " composite resin restorations at ali and the self-etching adhesive had equal behavior comparing to bonding system which use phosphoric acid as a conditioner / Mestrado / Dentística / Mestre em Clínica Odontológica
