improvement of soil management, because they act in the physical, chemical and biological essential for crop production. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of application of manure, bio- fertilizer and inoculation with nitrogen-fixing bacteria and mineral fertilizers in the cultivation of cowpea. The study was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco / Academic Unit of Garanhuns (UFRPE / UAG). The experimental design was a randomized block consisting of nine treatments and three replications. The treatments were: T - absolute control; E - manure; B - biofertilizers; I - inoculant; EI - manure + inoculant; BI - biofertilizers + inoculant; EB - manure + biofertilizers; EBI – manure + biofertilizer inoculant; AM - mineral fertilizer. The following variables were evaluated: number of days to flowering (NDF), plant height (ALTC), number of leaves per plant (NFP), leaf area (AF), dry biomass of the aerial part (SDW), pod length (CV) , number of pods per plant (NVP), number of seeds per pod
(NGP), number of grains per plant (NGP), weight of 100 grains (P100G), final stand (EF)
and grain yield. The cultivation of cowpea should be performed with the use of mineral
fertilizers to achieve high productivity. The cow manure and its association with biofertilizer and inoculant must be employed in the cultivation of Cowpea when it is absent mineral fertilization. / O emprego de adubos orgânicos no sistema produtivo têm contribuído de forma significativa para a melhoria do manejo do solo, pois atuam nas características físicas, químicas e biológicas essenciais para produção das culturas. O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da aplicação do esterco bovino, biofertilizante e inoculação com bactérias fixadoras de nitrogênio e da adubação mineral no cultivo do feijão-caupi. O estudo foi conduzido na Fazenda Experimental da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco/Unidade Acadêmica de Garanhuns (UFRPE/UAG). O delineamento experimental foi em blocos ao acaso, constituído por nove tratamentos e três repetições. Os tratamentos foram: T – testemunha absoluta; E – esterco bovino; B – biofertilizante; I – inoculante; EI – esterco bovino + inoculante; BI – biofertilizante + inoculante; EB – esterco bovino + biofertilizante; EBI – esterco bovino + biofertilizante + inoculante; AM - adubação mineral. Foram avaliadas as seguintes variáveis: número de dias para o
florescimento (NDF), altura da planta (ALTC), número de folhas por planta (NFP), área foliar (AF), biomassa seca da parte aérea (BSPA), comprimento de vagem (CV), número de vagens por planta (NVP), número de grãos por vagem (NGP), número de grãos por planta (NGP), massa de 100 grãos (P100G), estande final (EF) e produtividade de grãos. O cultivo do feijão-caupi deve ser realizado com o emprego de adubos minerais para obtenção de elevadas produtividades. O esterco bovino e sua associação com biofertilizante e inoculante devem ser empregados no cultivo do feijão-caupi quando for ausente a adubação mineral.
