Barns perspektiv på digital högläsning / Childrens perspective on digital reading aloud

The purpose of this study is to investigate how a selected group of children experience the use of audiobooks. The study is focused on children's reflections about audiobooks and read-aloud, with the increasing popularity of audiobooks in society.  To gather our empirical data, we have conducted qualitative observing and interviews with ten children in two different preschools.   What we can see from the analysis of our observations is that in our study, children show clear interest in reading aloud with the app Polyglutt. Our thoughts were that the result showed this as the children had access to a large selection of books that the app made easily accessible to the children. Digital apps with books provide multiple choices and multiple effects that attract children's interest. By having digital reading aloud in small groups, the children had the opportunity to participate in discussing the books read and influence the choice of book.   From our study it has become apparent to us that preschool teacher's didactics strategies help children to discuss books which in the long run helps children to improve language development. In addition, the conclusion from results leads us to knowledge that good collaboration between preschool teachers' engagement and children's interest will provide a good basis for children's learning and development.
